Hands down for me, it's Signed, Sealed, Delivered. I only wish they would release them quicker.
ReplyDeleteOkay... "Hat's Off to Christmas" is from 2013. That was one of my least favorite movies in an otherwise very strong year for Hallmark Christmas movies.
ReplyDeleteSo, I must ask a rhetorical question -- why is "Hat's Off..." on DVD now, but "Window Wonderland" and "Finding Christmas" (also from 2013) are not on DVD? Very strange. I have seen so many more people ask about "Window Wonderland" getting to DVD than I have seen questions about "Hat's Off..." I guess it comes down to distribution issues and rights.
One thing I did notice on Amazon and ebay last year was that a foreign version of "Hat's Off..." was available on DVD (can't recall if it was German or something else). I think it might have had subtitles. That's how it started with "Snow Bride" and "Bride for Christmas" -- they originally began appearing online as foreign import DVDs before finally making it to America. The same thing has now happened with "Hat's Off.." So I think it is a safe bet that if you see a Hallmark movie available as a foreign import DVD, it will probably eventually be released in an American version. It's just a matter of time.
I'm glad to see that "Bridal Wave" has made it to DVD. That one came from the January 2015 batch of new movies.
I wonder why "I Do, I Do, I Do" from Countdown to Valentine's Day 2015 is not on DVD, especially since Autumn Reeser is such an important part of the Hallmark family.
"For Better or for Worse" and "Stranded in Paradise" are from 2014, so even 2 years after something has premiered it is still possible for DVDs to emerge. (We also saw it happen last year, with the release of the "Let it Snow" and "Snow Bride" DVDs.) Don't give up hope on your favorites making it to DVD, folks! Keep hope alive! Maybe one day we will all finally see a "Matchmaker Santa" DVD (even though the movie is 4 years old at this point)!!!
200 days Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas.
ReplyDelete230 days Freeform "ABC Family" 25 days of Christmas.
When Sparks Fly DVD is also available from Amazon and Walmart, which I am looking forward to - thank you for the favorable review. To answer your question - The Memory Book.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I forgot to say that I hope that Hallmark releases "Love on the Air" on DVD -- but I don't think it was originally made with the intention of being a Hallmark movie. I think that it was brought to them, and that may play a role in how it is distributed.
ReplyDeleteThere is usually another round of DVD pre-order announcements when we get to July-Aug-Sept-ish. Two or three more Christmas movies -- most likely from the 2015 group -- will come out on DVD in the fall. I wonder which ones will make it to DVD.
It's such a mystery and guessing game because we all know that only a handful of the movies get to DVD, and some never do at all. Then, sometimes some of the ones that DO make it to DVD are puzzling, while the ones that didn't are even more puzzling.
So... here are my predictions for the 2-4 Hallmark Christmas movies from 2015 that will make it to DVD by the end of this year:
1. "Christmas Incorporated" -- Hallmark seems to have taken a liking to Shenae Grimes-Beech, putting her in 3 movies in less than 6 months. I think they will choose her Christmas movie as one of the lucky few to get to DVD.
2. "A Christmas Melody" -- Unless there is some sort of legal issue with Mariah Carey and her music, I think this one is a lock for DVD status too. Because Mariah Carey is going to direct another 3 movies for Hallmark this year, one of which will be another Christmas movie, I think that Hallmark will want to capitalize on that and make "A Christmas Melody" available to her fans and to Hallmark fans (who love Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott).
3. "12 Gifts of Christmas" -- Because "Snow Bride" was so popular I think Hallmark will make this one available for the people who liked Katrina Law in "Snow Bride." Plus, it's a sweet movie.
4. Possible wild card DVD choice -- "I'm Not Ready for Christmas." Hallmark likes Alicia Witt and has released her first 2 Christmas movies on DVD. Plus, she is appearing on "Nashville" right now (singing and acting), so her fans from that show might be interested in getting INRFC because she sings the title song. However, I think that the movie was not originally intended for Hallmark and just ended up with them later on down the line, so we shall see.
A movie I really want them to release to DVD: "On the Twelfth Day of Christmas," with Brooke Nevin and Robin Dunne.
I also have a strong felling that we will eventually see "October Kiss" and "Harvest Moon" on DVD. I also think that "A Country Wedding" will end up on DVD.
What great news, net!! Signed, Sealed, Delivered is my number one pick!! Now, off to do some serious shopping!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I think that "Unleashing Mr. Darcy" (which I did not like nearly as much as most other people did! Lol) is a lock for DVD status too. I would expect that its release will be announced sometime in the fall.
ReplyDeleteYou have to remember that Unleashing Mr. Darcy was a book first published by Harlequin. That affects it coming out on dvd.
DeleteDo you have any idea when "Unleashing Mr. Darcy" on DVD will be available? Thank you again for your all your help. Peace and Grace
ReplyDeleteBesides some of the above mentioned, I'm hoping for Farewll Mr. Kringle, Matchmaker Santa, Window Wonderland, Thanksgiving House, Finding Christmas, Angels and Ornaments, 12 Gifts of Christmas, Christmas Under Wraps, Catch a Christmas Star, Chasing Leprechauns, and Debbie Macomber's "Dashing through the snow". That's my pre- Christmas wish list. I'd buy them all. I know some of them are a few years old, but so what. People have been asking for them for years. Hallmark is missing out on a lot of money. Please put these on dvd. RG
ReplyDeleteI agree with quite a few of the ones you listed above! The more time that passes, though, the less of a chance there is for these to hit DVD. "Farewell, Mr. Kringle" (one of my favorites) is 6 years old at this point. I don't think enough people are asking for that specific movie to prompt a DVD release.
DeleteAs frustrating as it is to all of us that certain Hallmark movies we love have not made it to DVD (and not just Christmas movies, but others too), I think the short explanation for it is that it is more complex than we think. It isn't as simple as Hallmark just choosing to not release them to DVD, and choosing to not make the extra money.
What makes it to DVD (or doesn't) is not always within Hallmark's control. That's really the root of the problem. There are other parties involves in producing some of these movies, red tape, distribution issues, etc. Sometimes Hallmark acquires the movies from someone else.
As Hallmark begins to take total control over more of their new movies on all levels, then we will probably begin to see more new movies on DVD. Unfortunately, many of the older movies (from at least a few years ago) are partially under the control of other entities, and they have not worked anything out with Hallmark or on their own to release the movies to DVD. Sometimes a separate entity might release a DVD on its own, but not through Hallmark -- even if it is a movie that aired on Hallmark -- but that doesn't happen often enough!
The two The Bridge movies were produced by Marvista Entertainment so I'm sure Marvista will release them on DVD
ReplyDeleteAnother great group of DVD's coming our way, and more for me to buy LOL. I just hope Garage Sale Mystery: A Deadly Room and Guilty Until Proven Innocent and Real Murders: Aurora Teagarden Mystery come out on DVD in the next group of DVD's. Thank you for keeping us updated on all things Hallmark movies!
ReplyDeleteYES! Glad, The Memory Book is on DVD! Too bad it's not on Amazon. :(

If you have a Hallmark store in your area, check and see if they have The Memory Book. I was pleasantly surprised to find it at my local Hallmark store.
DeleteMy wish for Christmas DVDs are Window Wonderland, Magic Stocking, Christmas Inc., Dashing Through the Snow and Christmas Land. For other movies, I want all the mystery movies for Aurora Teagarden and Garage Sale Mystery.
ReplyDeleteMisty
FYI for fellow blog readers, before ordering The Wedding Planner Mystery and The Memory Book online, I would suggest checking out your local Hallmark store (if they sell Hallmark DVD's.), I was pleasantly surprised to find those two titles at my local Hallmark store.
ReplyDeleteIt helps Net if we order online, by clicking the links above and going to the order pages directly from this site. I don't have a local Hallmark store.
