POLL RESULTS: When do You watch Christmas Movies?

It’s a Wonderful Movie... your Guide to Family Movies
Recently, due to the request of an anonymous commenter, I added a poll to the site to see when the followers here most like to watch Christmas movies.

Due to the fact that this site is all about family & Christmas TV movies all year round, the results weren't surprising!

26% (119 votes) of you like to start watching on Oct 31st - when Hallmark starts playing them!

10% (37 votes) of you like to watch After eating Thanksgiving turkey!

4% (20 votes) choose to watch throughout December!

0% (2 votes) say they watch from Christmas Eve to New Years!

60% (Our Winner - 273 votes) shared you love to watch Christmas movies ALL throughout the Year!

I'm so sorry I forget to include Christmas in July with this poll! I know it is a favorite event for many -myself included! If I could include it now, I think it would belong with the first choice.

It is fun to know... many of you enjoy Christmas Movies All Year Round, as I do! If there is a Christmas movie on TV or one on DVD that I wish to see, I enjoy watching it no matter the calendar date or season.

However, there is one exception for me, It's a Wonderful Life. I feel it is something so dear and sacred, I must wait and watch it during the Christmas Season. Does anyone else feel this way about It's a Wonderful Life or any other movie?

  1. It is my annual ritual to watch It's a Wonderful Life while wrapping all the Christmas gifts. My husband takes all the children out for an afternoon, and I wrap and watch. I never tire of that movie.

    1. That is a lovely tradition, Preppy Mountain Farmer.

Our family gathers together and we watch It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. Our wrapping is (hopefully!!!) done, but Santa still has to fill up those stockings later that night!!!

I never get tired of watching it either! It touches my heart every time!

  2. Oops, might want to check those percentages. 37% with 37 votes can't be correct. Currently the poll adds up to more than 100%. Think there's a typo?

  3. I'm one of the 60% that likes to watch all year. I could watch everyday if I only had the time for it with my work schedule. It's a Wonderful Life is one of the few that I also save for viewing at Christmas. Add to that A Christmas Carol.

  4. Hey Net, sorry I couldn't vote in the poll as I can't scroll to the right on my iPhone 5s. :( but I'm with the All Year Long group. Lol Also, I only watch White Christmas on Christmas Eve as I'm wrapping gifts!! I don't watch it at any other time! And if I have time Thanksgiving Day I watch the original Miracle on 34th Street. I will watch it on another day close by if i didn't have time on Thanksgiving Day!!

  5. I have to watch Christmas movies after Thanksgiving. Then it's almost 24/7 until they stop showing them on TV for the season. (Usually the 2nd week of January. I TiVo all of them and usually run out of space. Never, ever get sick of them. My favorite is "A Season of Miracles".

  11. It's A Wonderful Life is my all time favorite Christmas movie and I am just like you: It can only be viewed at Christmas time. It's part of what makes the season so special. White Christmas comes in second. Looking forward to Halloween! The Christmas movies begin and I start decking the halls! Oh what fun!

  12. My husband and 2 boys began watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve for the last 5 years. It has become a special family tradition. I always cry at the end when Clarence gets his wings and the town comes together to help George and his family. We watch it only once at Christmas.
