"Home Alone Movie Day" on FMC
September 14, 2012 (Friday) is Home Alone Movie Marathon Day on FMC (Fox Movie Channel)! Sounds like a great day to order a Cheese Pizza all for yourself and settle in and watch all 4 Home Alone Movies! Unfortunately, they start early though - so unless you have the day off of work/school and like pizza for breakfast, this may or may not work. Or, there's always the tivo or dvr!
HOME ALONE
7:55 AM on FMC
The original movie airs first, following Miracle on 34th Street (the 1994 version), which airs just before it at 6 AM. So, if you get up early, you can let FMC really put you in the Holiday Spirit! To me, this Home Alone is forever my favorite of the series. It's perfect in every way. My favorite scene is when Kevin talks to his elderly neighbor at the church. After all the years, I still see the beauty in it beyond all the great comedy.
HOME ALONE 2: Lost in New York
9:40 AM on FMC
This is the second movie in the series, and while many sequels disappoint - this one is still terrific! It has every element from the first movie that we all fell in love with before - a sense of loss, forgiveness, and finding renewed strength and love in family! And, of course, the fact that it's the same Kevin, plus all the same family characters and Marv and Harry, too - that makes it great!
HOME ALONE 3
11:45 AM on FMC
The story of Home Alone 3 is based during the winter, but it isn't really a Christmas Movie. Originally, Macaulay Culkin was supposed to star as Kevin in this story, too, but those plans fell through and the role was re-casted. It's the first movie where the main character is not named Kevin. (Instead, it's Alex.) It's a cute movie, just not the same as the first two.
HOME ALONE 4: Taking Back the House
1:30 PM on FMC
In this made-for-television sequel, the main boy has been named Kevin, but it's not Macaulay Culkin (who was much older at this point) who portrays the role. This movie has a lot of the funny elements of being home alone and dealing with catching robbers. It's not the same as the original movies, but I find that children still enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy your day of Christmas Movies on FMC. Later that night at 7 PM and 9 PM , they will be playing Alvin and the Chipmunks, which also has Christmas in it!
And, if you are interested in more HOME ALONE MOVIES, then you'll be excited to know that ABC Family will be bringing us a 5th movie in the series during their Countdown of 25 days of Christmas! Click Here for more details for Home Alone 5 : Alone in the Dark.
Have a Great Day ... and hopefully you can share that Cheese Pizza!
