    1. LOL!!! I love seeing a fellow soap fan! Yay! :) And I'm cracking up because your thinking was my VERY FIRST thought when I saw him in the commercial/preview!!! He's horrible!! His line delivery is awful! I'm so mad that he's the lead in this! And I know everyone thinks he's hot, but he doesn't do anything for me. Bleh...

    2. I think Brennan Elliott or even Corey Sevier would have been great. What do you think. I also watch GH LOL

    3. I think they should've gotten Michael Easton!! LOL. I would've been okay with Corey Sevier playing the part...I like him and he's cute. I also like Warren Christie, Antonio Cupo, and Damon Runyan, to name a few, and think they would've been good in the part. And seriously, it's been forever since Warren Christie has done a Hallmark movie! I miss him!

    4. Paevey does nothing for me look wise probably because he lacks charm. I saw the trailer and his line delivery really was flat.

I'd actually like to see some more diversity among Hallmark films. Sometimes they can be just so vanilla.

    5. He does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me looks-wise, either. And the fact that his line delivery on GH annoys me, well..that doesn't help matters. And AMEN about Hallmark needing more diversity! I posted about this in another thread on this site. It's utterly ridiculous that Hallmark remains stagnant in its casting choices!

    6. They changed other things about the book so they could've cast anyone in the Darcy role

    7. Not sure why everyone was so harsh on Ryan Paevey playing Darcy. He was just as good as Colin Firth or any other actor in the part. Ryan was a great choice, an excellent Mr. Darcy.

    8. Ryan was no where near as good as any of the other actors who played Darcy. He wasn't charming and coasted by his looks through the entire movie. The actress plying Elizabeth was pretty bad too. They had no chemistry with each other and their acting over all was very poor. Way too brittle. Alot of struggling to get their lines out. Not sure why Hallmark went with two unknown unproven actors for a movie based on the classics. Seasoned actors could've uplifted this script.

    1. There is nothing "Jane Austen" about this movie. It's based on a vapid book, not the original.

The only thing worse than the acting in this was the dialogue. Dreadful waste of time.

  4. A little nervous about this one. I'm highly protective of Jane Austen and Pride and Prejudice especially. We shall see how this one turns out.... But I agree.... those DRESSES! SWOON!

  5. Okay so its sounds like they watered down the book for the movie. Because the book doesnt sound family friendly.

  6. I'm half way through this movie and I'm gagging. They really "hallmarked" it up... yikes. I'm a general lover of hallmark movies but they shouldn't touch these classics...

  7. I'm still reeling over all the fantastic he said she said scenes. Well done, again, Hallmark. Great casting and chemistry between Elizabeth and Darcy!

This one was not one of my favorites. I know, I know, I know -- other people seemed to absolutely LOVE this movie. I don't know why it didn't click with me, but it didn't click with me. I think that the first 2 Winterfest movies -- "Love in Paradise" and "Love's Complicated" -- were the ones I liked best out of all 4 new movies.

I am hoping that there is a gem somewhere in the new bunch of Valentine's Day movies!

  17. I've watched this movie every time I knew it was going to be on. Absolutely loved it, thought Ryan and Cindy did a wonderful job pretending to dislike one another while actually it was quite the opposite. Will be looking for the DVD, soon I hope.

  23. The best movie ever. Cannot understand why they feel Ryan was terrible. Did they not see "Pride etc" It is the personality needed for the part. Please advise when it is available on DVD. Thank you so much.

    1. He was wooden and brought no personality to the role. Overall the story was pretty weak(just like in the novel this is directly based off)and I couldn't understand how they went from arguing and hating each other to love with nothing in between.

  24. I am at a loss at the terrible comments regarding Unleashing Mr Darcy. I have enjoyed it very much however I am in the "Senior Citizen's" category and did appreciate they were not "rolling in the covers" throughout the movie. I especially like the fact it was also about the dogs.
