Hallmark Movies & Mysteries unveils its blockbuster annual holiday-themed programming event, ‘MOST WONDERFUL MOVIES OF CHRISTMAS,’ on October 31 with 1300 hours of the most sought-after, traditional and cherished Christmas programming, including an exclusive lineup of the highest-rated Holiday Original Movies of all time from Crown Media Family Network’s robust library, airing exclusively on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The 24/7 holiday schedule will also feature the World Premiere of two brand-new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Originals, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas” and “The Christmas Secret,” celebrated movies from the Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas Collection, the annual Yule Log burning brightly from Christmas Eve through Christmas morning and timeless seasonal favorites every Thursday night, embarking on the biggest holiday programming event the network has ever seen.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is the exclusive home of traditional and classic holiday fare and since its launch, our commitment to producing unique and inspiring original content for the network is unparalleled,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming, Crown Media Family Networks.“

“Crown Media Family Networks produces more Original Christmas content than any other entertainment network, giving viewers a distinct destination for non-stop holiday favorites now until Christmas. Viewers expect quality holiday programming from us, and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will always deliver,” concludes Vicary.

Last season’s inaugural ‘MOST WONDERFUL MOVIES OF CHRISTMAS’ was a proven success and boosted the network to #1 in households during primetime and delivered its highest quarter, month and week of all time.* This year promises to be an even bigger event with more Christmas content that is so beloved, it is a destination unto itself. The network will unwrap exclusive premieres of some of the most celebrated, highly-rated original movies from Crown Media’s library of holiday originals, including “The Christmas Card,” “A Christmas Wish,” “A Christmas Visitor,” “Fallen Angel,” “Christmas with Tucker,” “The Christmas Heart,” “The Wishing Tree” and “Our First Christmas,” as well as treasured Christmas movies from the Hallmark Hall of Fame Collection including “November Christmas,” “A Dog Named Christmas,” “A Season of Miracles” and “Silver Bells.”

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will also treat viewers to two ALL-NEW, highly anticipated Original World Premieres:

SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED FOR CHRISTMAS,’ World Premiere Sunday, November 23, 9p.m. ET/PT, 8C, stars Eric Mabius, Kristin Booth, Crystal Lowe, Geoff Gustafson, Marion Ross and Rob Estes. When the beloved quartet of postal detectives—Oliver (Mabius), Shane (Booth), Rita (Lowe) and Norman (Gustafson)—discover an urgent letter written to God, they delay their own travel plans to help a little girl who's mother's life hangs in the balance on Christmas Eve. With guidance from a mysterious post office volunteer, Jordan (Estes) and Oliver's former Sunday School teacher (Ross), the Postables are surprised to discover they've been a part of more than one miracle on this Christmas Eve.

About the successful POstables debut on the new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Michelle Vicary said, “Because viewers expect quality holiday family programming from us, we asked Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of ‘Touched By An Angel’) to write and Executive Produce a Christmas movie for us, which exceeded our expectations. Her ‘Signed Sealed Delivered for Christmas’ is so unique, we wanted to showcase it on the newly rebranded Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, where it’s destined to be discovered as a modern classic.”

THE CHRISTMAS SECRET,’ World Premiere Sunday, December 7, 9p.m. ET/PT, 8C, stars Bethany Joy Lenz and John Reardon and based on the bestselling novel The Christmas Secret by Donna VanLierre, the film follows a struggling single mom’s search for a lost family heirloom that she hopes will help her find love and good fortune in time for Christmas.

Five timeless seasonal favorites will also air as part of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Christmas Classics Thursday Nights” starting November 6:

“A Christmas Carol (1951),” starring Alastair Sim and Jack Warner, a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Premiere;
“Holiday Affair,” starring Robert Mitchum, Janet Leigh and Wendell Corey;
“It Happened on 5th Avenue,” starring Gale Storm, Victor Moore and Ann Harding;
“Christmas in Connecticut,” starring Barbara Stanwyck, Dennis Morgan and Sydney Greenstreet;
“The Bishop’s Wife,” starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven.

Well, that's the news for Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

My Thoughts:
It is, indeed, the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and it looks to be another wonderful season of Christmas Movies on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel!

And, while I know this is probably good news for the future of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, it is also bittersweet and disappointing, for many DirecTV viewers, like myself, who were so supportive of the show on the regular Hallmark Channel... to see it move to the other station, where many of us can no longer watch it.

I am certain, with all my heart, that Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas will be a wonderful, heartfelt Christmas movie... one I have been most enthusiastic about, and have anticipated seeing since the moment I first heard the project announced, at the beginning of Summer.

I do, however, have an idea...
Perhaps, we can ask those at Hallmark to give us devoted series viewers, an encore airing of the Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas movie on the regular Hallmark Channel, as well... sometime during the Christmas Season!

What do you all think?

  1. Like, no LOVE your idea of an encore airing on the regular Hallmark Channel!!! I love every episode of Signed Sealed Delivered and watched faithfully every Sunday night. I also don't have their Movie channel. Was so disappointed until I read your encore idea. Thanks for giving me hope again. I hope the nice people at Hallmark read this and give us this Christmas gift! Trisha

  2. Thanks for sharing this news. I can't believe they moved SSD to the other Hallmark Channel. I don't have the Hallmark Movie Channel - soon to be Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. I wish I did. Dish carries it on SD, standard definition. Why can't DirecTV? It doesn't seem fair of DirecTV or Hallmark to do this to us. They played the entire first season on the Hallmark Channel and got us hooked on the show. Then, they swept the rug right from underneath us and moved it to another channel. Listen, I love the SSD series and many Hallmark movies, but I am really disappointed right now. Bridget

    1. At least you don't have AT&T u-verse. We don't get either channel on there. I thought I was getting a good deal. Trust me, it's not.

  3. Just as we thought. They moved Signed Sealed Delivered to the new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. It's not fair for those of us who only have the Hallmark Channel and watched the premiere movie and every episode that followed on the Hallmark Channel. How will we get to see the movie, ever? I hope they consider your idea and air it on both stations.

  4. I'm pretty sure they will repeat it on the hallmark channel. I think all of the movies that have premiered on that channel has been repeated on the regular hallmark channel. I have both channels so I know that hallmark almost always repeats on both channels.

    1. They do that, sometimes, but not always. Hopefully, they will want to please fans and do this one twice!!

  5. This is not good news for me. My Grandmother and I loved to watch Signed Sealed Delivered together, but we don't get that movie station. It would cost us a lot more to get it. I can't believe they did this to us.

  6. I have been a die-hard SSD fan from the start. I also don't have the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Channel. I feel somewhat lost now as what to do. Is there any way we can see this otherwise. I like your encore thought but Hallmark hasn't been always faithful in showing the movies on the Hallmark Ch, that were first aired on HMM.

  7. It really doesn't seem fair to a lot of people to be deprived of the viewing they have become accustomed to. Direct TV and Hallmark are obviously having some problems. I hope they iron them out soon. As for the upcoming Christmas season, beginning Oct. 31st, it is so looked forward to in our household and we are fortunate to still be able to view it on either/both Hallmark channels.

  8. I don't have DirecTV, but I know what it's like to not have TV Channels that you want, because they have great programming, so an encore showing is fine with me!!!

  9. I am so disappointed. I love Hallmark movies....especially the Christmas movies. I love SSD...and I couldn't wait for this movie. Now, I feel like the Grinch stole my Christmas. I hope that Hallmark Channel will air it. I'll be checking into getting the channel but I don't want to pay more than I already am paying for one channel. I hope Hallmark will hear the POstables fans and understand that we are upset about this. I really hope they don't move the show to that channel because they could lose a lot of viewers that way.

  10. I just want to know WHY they moved it? TPTB KNOW many of their viewers don't get the other channel. This is disappointing to me for all of you who don't get the channel. I'll write in on your behalf, too
    On another note...those 5 Classics are 5 of my all time favorites right behind It's a Wonderful Life and The Shop Around the Corner!! EEk and YEA!!!

  11. It looks like everyone who was so excited about the upcoming Signed Sealed Delivered Christmas Movie isn't any more.

  12. I'm not disappointed in Signed Sealed Delivered, just not thrilled about Hallmark's decision to air it somewhere else from where we were used to seeing it. They lost a huge amount of SSD's fan base. I hope they, at least consider airing an encore, like you suggested, on the Hallmark Channel.

  13. I'm sure they're using Signed, Sealed's popularity to help promote their newly rebranded channel. I'm confused, as I have DirecTV and I get this channel. Is that you just don't have a package that encompasses Hallmark Movies and Mysteries? Just wondering because if you wanted to, it's often possible to add channels on a short-term basis, so if you call and upgrade to that package you can always downgrade again after the New Year and not miss the Christmas programming, without too much extra expense.

  14. I have the channel but fear SSD will be forgotten or overlooked on the newly branded channel. We all viewed the movie and series on the regular Hallmark channel and came to expect it there. We all (probably) watch the weekly original movies and the advertising for movies will help "remind us" hopefully they will continue to advertise and push SSD Christmas movie being on Hallmark Movies and mysteries so people don't forget. I know it has a fan base--but not as large as Cedar Cove or WCTH---I just fear that pushing it over to the other channel will mean they might think it doesn't have the support that it does from all of us! I love the show so much! So heartwarming and great stories!
