Happy Palm Sunday This Weekend! See Inspirational, Faith-Based Programming and More...

As we begin this Holy Week before Easter with Palm Sunday, I wanted to share with you all some of the inspirational, faith-based programming airing this weekend. Let us rejoice during this special time as we reflect on the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, who gave His life as a sacrifice for our sins, so we could live for eternity in heaven with Him!

"Glory in His holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice."
~Psalm 105:3

ABC will have their annual airing of the movie The Ten Commandments this Saturday evening, the weekend before Easter, with Charlton Heston as Moses. I am in awe every time I watch this film and see the water part as the children of Israel make their exodus from Egypt and cross the Red Sea.

The Ten Commandments begins at 7pm/6c. on ABC.

The Ten Commandments is also available on DVD and Streaming.

The Hallmark Channel is premiering the only new movie this weekend with the *Spring Into Love* movie...

Storyline: Rae Parker (Hudon) has a very fabulous, single life that attracts thousands of readers to her monthly travel column, “Reservation for One.” Rae is surprised when her editor wants to send her to the world’s most romantic vacation destination -- The Conrad Maldives. She’s an adventurous spirit and staying at the luxurious Muraka makes it difficult for her to find the type of experiences she needs to write an article worthy of her column. It doesn’t help that Rae is terribly afraid of the open ocean and a hotel that floats in the middle of it. After a few failed solo attempts, Rae realizes she needs some guidance and support to undertake some of the challenges outside of her comfort zone. The Conrad’s guest experience expert, Jared Joseph (Manley), steps in and makes it his personal mission to give Rae the adventure she’s looking for…

Premieres Saturday, April 1, 2023
at 8pm/7c. on the Hallmark Channel

Please Note: Much of the movie, Love in the Maldives, takes place on the beach, so characters will be seen in swimwear.

☀️ SHINING HIS LIGHT: ☀️

"And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

  1. Happy Palm Sunday to you Net and all who visit here! Holy Week is such a sacred time, and I appreciate you sharing these faith based films. We try to catch The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston every year. I thought it would be next weekend. Did this time change or something? Paula

    1. Paula, I believe this is the second year that ABC has chosen to air The Ten Commandments the weekend before Easter, instead of Easter weekend, which used to be their annual tradition the night before Easter. I miss this special airing on Easter weekend, but I'm just glad they still choose to air it.

God's Blessings and Happy Palm Sunday to you! Net

    1. Chris, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is airing the Godwink Christmas movies and The Gift of Peace on Saturday, April 8th and then on Easter Sunday, HMM is airing The Blessing Bracelet. I don't believe there are any religious movies airing on the Hallmark Channel around Easter.

      Happy Palm Sunday to you!

  5. I hope everyone has a lovely Lord's Day this Sunday!! I love those Love Comes Softly films and especially the books!

Also praying for the safety of the tornado storm that sadly effected Little Rock so badly. It's in Tennessee now, and coming my way as well, so I would appreciate your prayers too. Thankfully God is in control and all things work for good who love Him.

    1. Abigail, Oh my goodness... thank you praying for everyone in the path of the storm. We were among those affected - as my family's farm was hit by one of tornadoes yesterday. There is damage to the barns, and a little to the old farmhouse, but only one small building, the old smokehouse, was demolished. Some of our neighbors had worse damage to their homes, barns, garages, fences, grain bins, etc... but thankfully, everyone is safe. We were in our basement when the storm hit - and we listened to the roar of the wind as it passed. It was really scary, but we are praising God today, as we know He was there in the midst of it all with us.

I pray you and your family, Abigail, were also safe through the storm. As I watched the Weather Channel yesterday, I was praying for those where the severe weather went through. It is so sad to watch the news today and see the devastation in Arkansas, Tennessee, etc...

      Hope you are all well.
Blessings on this Holy Week to you and yours... Net

    2. Oh my goodness! Thank God for your safety Net, and praying Abigail is safe also.

Have you seen the video of the meteorologist praying on the air live during his broadcast of the tornadoes in MS? I watched on the WC and prayed for all in harm's way.

Net, I love your picture and message on Palm Sunday.

Blessings to you and everyone who visits this site during Holy Week. Looking forward to The Passion Play on Good Friday!

    3. Net, I am so sorry to hear that your farm got hit by one of the tornadoes yesterday, but praise God no one was injured! I was thinking of you as I was watching the forecast and seeing the storms moving through the Midwest.

Definitely keeping everyone affected in my prayers!

    5. Thank you all for your prayers. My family and I are all safe and praising God. We huddled underneath a table in our basement, my corgi as well. And prayed together. It was scary hearing the sirens go off. We were most concerned about our tall trees in the backyard that need to be cut down, thankfully none of them fell on the house.

I'm so sorry about the damage Net! I'm sure it was difficult to see that. I will be praying for you, but I am so thankful the Lord kept you and your family safe.

Kitkat, I didn't see that live video, but just hearing about it really encouraged me. Thank you!

I hear we have another storm coming on Tuesday - Thursday, praying it's only thunder.

Yes, I have seen that video clip of the meteorologist praying. It is beautiful and heartbreaking - since he knew the devastation headed towards that town/city.

    7. Mark 25, Thank you for your comment. It's a blessing to have such good friends here, who care for and pray for each other. So glad the bad storms didn't affect you - since you are in the Midwest, too. I'm hearing more storms may be on the way this Tuesday or Wednesday. Praying it won't be as bad this time. Thankfully, we have sunshine today and everything is peaceful.

Happy Easter week to you! Net ☀️

    9. Abigail, I'm so glad you and your family and your home and trees are all fine after the storm. I know just what you mean about it all being scary. I'm sooo grateful we are all okay, but it was also sad to see the damage to the farm since some of the buildings are either over or near 100 years old.

Thank you, honey, for your prayers. We are also expecting more storms this week. I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers, as well.

Have a blessed Holy Week, Net

    1. Maria, I also watched 5000 Blankets! It is powerful, isn't it?

5000 Blankets review – I watched 5000 Blankets recently through Pureflix and I liked it, especially the woman’s sweet spirit and tenacity and her son’s determination to help others. The various scenes in the movie when the man suffers from his mental illness are intense and tough to watch, at times. Based on this, I would say the movie is for a mature age 12 and up. It was nice to see how this family and community reached out to help those less fortunate. I especially liked the friendship between the mother and son and the homeless woman, Delia. That was so heartwarming and touching; it brought tears to my eyes. 5000 Blankets has a beautiful, inspiring message about how we can positively choose to react, even when bad things happen. ~Net
