πŸ”Ž Hallmark Announces New Dancing Mystery - Starring Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp πŸ”Ž Details Here:

Exciting movie news was released today! Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp are reuniting for an all new Hallmark mystery movie: The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango. This is such a wonderful announcement for those of us who have been hoping for a sequel to the Christmas Waltz. Even though this new movie is not a sequel, I feel it's the next best thing.

Here's the scoop via ET: The actors are teaming up for their third Hallmark movie, ET can exclusively reveal, following 2020's Christmas Waltz and 2019's Love, Romance & Chocolate. Chabert and Kemp will headline The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which recently began filming on location in Malta.

The new Hallmark mystery, which will premiere later this year, is set in the competitive world of ballroom dance and is based on a story and characters created and developed by Kemp and Aubrey Day. Both Chabert and Kemp also serve as executive producers.

The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango follows Constance Bailey (Chabert), a no-nonsense detective who prefers to work alone. When a high-profile CEO is murdered on the eve of his company’s corporate event in Malta -- a high-stakes ballroom competition between senior executives -- Detective Bailey is sent undercover as one of the contestants. The only problem? She can’t dance. To convincingly compete, she must team up with charismatic and free-spirited performer Sebastian Moore (Kemp). But with a killer on the loose and a growing list of suspects, it’s going to take more than a little fancy footwork to solve this case.

According to the article, the movie is set to premiere later this year on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

Happy sleuthing!

  1. Wow! This has me very interested! I love Lacey and Will together. ....And they get to dance again.

But because of her natural happy, sweet and feminine personality, it's difficult to see her as a police detective. Especially after seeing her as Avery from the Wedding Veil movies.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ It won't stop me from trying it, though it makes me wonder what this means for the future of Crossword Mysteries.

  2. Some other mysteries movies I like to see

    Wine Country Mysteries

Scrapbook Mysteries - about 3 siblings with Star, Sun, & Moon necklaces

    Etc…

  3. I don't know what to make of this.

Christmas Waltz was a wonderful movie spoilt for me by an abrupt and shoddy ending - Hallmark could easily have added a 2 minute epilogue maybe 9 months later showing the opening of the new Dance Studio in Brighton Beach with Avery sporting a wedding ring and even showing a baby bump.

There's no question that Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp have great on screen chemistry but the problem is that the main theme is about Ballroom Dancing and for me this means Lacey and Will are Avery and Roman.

It's going to be hard accepting them as another couple - it would be much easier if the subject matter was different.

Being on HMM too means that it doesn't have the same potential to draw biig viewing figures as it would on the main channel.

On another subject I was just looking at the Upcoming TV Movies schedule for March - it really does look barren - only seven new movies in total - Florence

  4. So that is probably the answer to if there will be anymore Crossword Puzzle movies. I am sure they don't care but I haven't watched any new mysteries in a long time and wont. Why wouldn't they think people want an ending to Laceys other mystery movie series? I havent watched one of her movies in forever anyway. I do enjoy Will Kemp but will skip this series.

  5. Hi Net,
This premise does sound intriguing. I like Lacey and Will together. They have nice chemistry. And, happy too about the Hannah Swenson follow-up movie. I have not been a fan of some of the newer mystery series, except for the new Curious Caterer mystery movie. And, that is only because that series has two of my favorite people as the leads. Otherwise, the other new ones, over the last two years, have been boring and did not hook me in any way. Wishful thinking, on my part, but I would really love to see a final Crossword Mysteries, to tie up loose ends, and a final 'Mystery 101'. And, if HMM could throw in one more 'Gourmet Detective' and finish filming what would have been the last 'Garage Sell Mystery' movie I would be a 'happy camper'. I mean, a girl can dream can't she! LOL

  8. Thrilled to read that two very accomplished actors will star in a MYSTERY!!! Hallmark is making me regret keeping the Movie and Mystery Channel as one of only 15 we now get in our new --far less expensive --cable plan. Without new mysteries, I rarely watch the channel. Looking forward to this one.

  11. This sounds okay, but not as great as a sequel to Christmas Waltz. Why couldn't they just give fans the sequel they've been wanting? I feel this is another miss for Hallmark. Why bother bringing Will and Lacey together to dance and basically rub it in the faces of everyone who has been asking for a Christmas Waltz sequel.
