Storyline via Breakthrough Entertainment: Through the influence of a spirited new teacher – Miss Stacy – Anne steps up her ability at scholarship and competes for the few spaces available at a teacher’s college in Charlottetown. Her hard work and competitive nature (especially with Gilbert) pay off.

When Anne leaves for Queen’s College, Matthew and Marilla feel a sudden emptiness in their lives. Marilla’s failing eyesight and Matthew’s poor health make life more difficult on the farm and they are forced to hire a man to help out.

In Charlottetown, Anne is nearly overwhelmed by loneliness and the harsh circumstances of her urban surroundings. More than this, she feels the pressure of severe competition – especially from Gilbert Blythe. Their estranged relationship is almost repaired at the school dance but Anne misinterprets the moment and their estrangement continues.

Matthew and Marilla make the long journey to be present when Anne graduates and wins the coveted ‘Avery Prize’. They bring Anne back to Green Gables where she reunites with... click here to read more...

*Please note: I do want to inform parents- this is the movie where Anne and Marilla lose their dear Matthew. This loss will, of course, be very sad and tragic for Anne Shirley. This emotional storyline may not be suitable for very young children.

  1. I am most excited to see Truly, Madly, Sweetly! (LOVE the title!) For one, it filmed locally in BC and I recognized the principal location, the bakery, from watching the trailer. Eagle eyes will recognize it too from Perfect Bride 2, SSD The Wedding, and Wedding of Dreams as the place where the cake tasting scenes took place. But I really like Dylan and Nikki as actors and think this one looks cute. Also it was Dylans story idea and I love it when actors step out in that way.

    Happy Fall everyone,

    Kerry

  2. I tend to love Hallmarks Fall Harvest movies. I mean, with movies like October Kiss and Harvest Moon, what's not to love. Truly, Madly Sweetly was cute enough, but I can hardly wait to see All of my Heart: The Wedding next week!

  3. Also, thank you, Net, for the Anne reminder. My girls can't wait to watch this. I think they are both old enough now to handle the death of Matthew, but I might be a mess!
