a Hallmark Movie within a Hallmark Movie!

As I was looking through images of the upcoming Hallmark Channel movie Stranded in Paradise I saw this picture of actress Vanessa Marcil where she looks like she is taking some leisure time on the beach reading a book.

Curiosity got the best of me, so I took a look closer at the book she is reading and low and behold the book is Diann Hunt's For Better or For Worse, which incidentally, just recently became a Hallmark Channel movie! I can't help but wonder, will she mention the book in this movie? Or, is the book just merely a prop? See the movie Stranded in Paradise, which stars Vanessa Marcil and James Denton, on August 9th, 2014 on the Hallmark Channel!

Seeing this picture reminded me that I know of 2 more Hallmark Movies, which have references to other Hallmark Movies.

Here they are...

The first movie is A Carol Christmas, which stars Tori Spelling as a Talk Show host. If you look closely when Carol (Tori) is walking down a hallway at work, there is a poster in the background for the Hallmark Movie Straight from the Heart.

The second movie with another Hallmark movie reference is the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Silver Bells. At the beginning of the movie, the young girl says she wants to watch a Christmas Movie that night. A Season For Miracles. Which is, of course, another Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie!

Have you ever caught another Hallmark movie moment like this in another Hallmark movie? If so, please share! And, let's be sure to keep our eyes and ears open for more!

My Thoughts:

This is such exciting news! I couldn't wait to share it with all of you!

I received the Press Release (above) this morning, and was so thrilled to finally learn the third set of Mystery Movies coming next year to Hallmark Movies and Mysteries! (by the way, this is the new name, as of Oct. 1st, for the Hallmark Movie Channel)

A special "Thank You", also to Misty, for sharing this news, too, in the comments under Northpole 2! I know you love Hallmark Movies & Mysteries just as much as do! : )

I am delighted they have chosen Candace Cameron Bure to star in this news series... as she is one of my favorite actresses on Hallmark! Since she is already a member of the Hallmark family, I think she is a great choice to lead this new mystery series. Also, it is rather interesting, that her Full House co-star Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky) will be also starring in one of the other mystery movie series "Garage Sale Mystery". (see the original post on the Hallmark Mystery franchise, here)

Hope you all enjoy this news, too!

Hallmark Movie Channel becomes Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on October 1st

I reported back in the spring that the Hallmark Movie Channel would be officially changing it's name sometime in the fall. (Click here for original post) On October 1, 2014, the "Hallmark Movie Channel" will rebrand itself as "Hallmark Movies & Mysteries". Along with this new name, comes a new logo.

Hallmark Press Release:

Crown Media Family Networks, the country's most trusted source for quality wholesome entertainment, debuted today the new look and logo for Hallmark Movie Channel's imminent rebrand to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The brand repositioning, which will come to life across digital and linear platforms on October 1, follows the successful brand redesign for sister network, Hallmark Channel 2 years ago.

Maintaining parent company Hallmark Cards' iconic moniker and emblem, Hallmark Movie Channel's new name and logo design emphasize the exciting next phase in the network's evolution, as it expands and redefines its mix of original programming and stakes an ownership claim on the softside of the mystery genre. In addition, by dropping the word "channel" from its name, the network is better positioned for long term growth in a rapidly changing landscape that includes traditional linear, as well as digital platforms.

"Hallmark Movie Channel has evolved significantly over the past 24 months and it was time to refresh the network with a new name and logo that better embody its brand promise and programming mix," said Susanne McAvoy, executive vice president of marketing, communications and creative for Crown Media Family Networks. "The reimagined brand will better identify the network as a wholly distinct destination from Hallmark Channel, while more fully realizing its potential for future growth in the rapidly changing multi-screen universe."   The network's enhanced programming slate will include three Mystery Wheel movie franchises, which will debut in 2015.

ABOUT HALLMARK MOVIE CHANNEL
Hallmark Movie Channel, the second linear channel from Crown Media Holdings, Inc., simulcast in SD (Standard Definition) and HD (High Definition), is a trusted family-friendly network devoted to quality storytelling. Available in 54 million homes and one of the fastest-growing cable TV networks, Hallmark Movie Channel is a 24-hour digital cable network dedicated to bringing viewers original movies with a mix of classic theatrical films, and presentations from the acclaimed Hallmark Hall of Fame library. In today's crowded television landscape, the network offers viewers a diverse range of film genres, including mysteries, suspense, coming-of-age dramas, and epic fantasies.

Changes made to Hallmark Channel's “Christmas Keepsake” Week T.V. Schedule!

It’s a Wonderful Movie... your Guide to Family Movies

First of all, the movie “Catch a Christmas Star” has been removed completely from the schedule and replaced with either sitcoms or another Christmas Movie, depending on the day and time.

Also, the Hallmark Channel has removed the late night airings of Christmas Movies through the weekday nights beginning July 7th and instead will be airing the usual sitcoms: The Middle, Golden Girls, Frasier, Cheers, and I Love Lucy through the night. This information is rather disappointing to me… as I was so looking forward to falling asleep to Christmas Movies and waking up to them, too! Plus, I know how much people love and enjoy this when they have different work schedules and they are awake during these night hours.

Please note: A few other movies were changed around in the Hallmark Channel schedule... however, no changes were made to the Hallmark MOVIE Channel, so they will continue to air Christmas Movies through the night.

The Hallmark Channel and AT&T U-Verse

I received an e-mail from Amy, one of my blog followers, in regard to AT&T U-verse not carrying the Hallmark Channel. Even though I do not personally have this cable provider, I long to help her and others with their mission to encourage U-verse to carry the Hallmark Channel again.

Here is the e-mail I received:

"Hi Net,

Thank you for your fun, wholesome blog!

But, many of us don't get to watch all the great movies and shows on the Hallmark Channel because we have U-Verse, and it is very, very frustrating!   I spoke with a nice lady from the Hallmark Channel last week, and she said that getting back onto U-Verse is their #1 goal this year.  I am so glad to hear that!

She suggested that I try to get everyone I can to click on the link below and fill out the very short channel survey, which lets people request the Hallmark Channel on U-Verse:
http://uversechannels.att.com/channel-survey
Anyone can take the survey it appears - even those who don't subscribe to U-Verse.

Anything you can do to help publicize/support/get the word out about this would be so appreciated!!

The more people who contact AT&T and take the survey, the better.   I also emailed the CEO, randall.stephenson@att.com and think that is another great thing for people to do to voice their desire for them to carry the Hallmark Channel.
Thank you, thank you.  God bless you! Amy
"

Here is a statement from the Hallmark Channel, regarding this issue:

"Attention AT&T U-verse customers, we are stunned AT&T has dropped our networks and has been misleading its customers by telling you they are fighting for you. We want everyone to be able to see our family friendly programming. We would never deny our loyal viewers the chance to enjoy our original movies, series and specials. AT&T needs to hear directly from their customers that they care about family friendly programming. They need to hear your voice on the phone!" (The Phone Number to call is: 1-888-MADE-4-FAMILY)

I hope this is helpful information for all of you who are hoping to have the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel return to U-verse.

Please be certain, to take the survey, here: http://uversechannels.att.com/channel-survey and take a few minutes to give them a call at 1-888-MADE-4-FAMILY, and share with them that you want family programming back... you want the Hallmark Channel to return to AT&T U-verse.

Hope this helps you, Amy, and many other AT&T U-verse Subscribers, in your endeavor!

*UPDATE - Merger News: AT&T has agreed to buy DirecTV for $48.5 million. I hope this means we will get to keep the Hallmark Channel on DirecTV, too!
