πŸŽΈπŸŽ„"A Grand Ole Opry Christmas" - Hallmark Channel’s New *Countdown to Christmas* Movie is in Perfect Harmony with Nikki DeLoach, Kristoffer Polaha & Country Singer, Brad Paisley

Hallmark heads to the Grand Ole Opry for a Magical, Musical Christmas Story this holiday season!

The Hallmark Channel is bringing nostalgia, time-travel, and country music to *Countdown to Christmas* this year with "A Grand Ole Opry Christmas," a brand-new Christmas movie starring Nikki DeLoach and Kristoffer Polaha!

The story follows Gentry Woods (played by Nikki DeLoach), the daughter of late country music legend Jett Woods. Once an aspiring songwriter herself, Gentry walked away from the music world after her father’s tragic car accident thirty years ago. But when the Grand Ole Opry invites her to honor her father at its centennial Christmas celebration, an unexpected twist of Christmas magic transports her back to 1995.

In the past, she crosses paths with her best friend Mac (played by Kristoffer Polaha), a country music talent manager who is also swept back in time. Together, they face old wounds, rediscover lost dreams, and uncover long-buried truths about Gentry’s father, finding healing and hope in the process.

Adding even more star power, country superstar Brad Paisley is writing and performing original songs for the film, including the theme for this year’s *Countdown to Christmas*.

Hallmark’s Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott calls the project a perfect pairing of heartfelt storytelling with the Opry’s 100th anniversary, and filming will take place in real Opry locations to give the movie an authentic Nashville feel.

With this amazing cast and storyline, "A Grand Ole Opry Christmas" promises to strike all the right chords this Christmas!

STUDIO CITY, CA and NASHVILLE, TN - August 11, 2025 - Hallmark Channel, the perennial, undisputed #1 destination for holiday movie viewing and the Grand Ole Opry, the show that made country music famous, are setting the stage for a magical trip across time with A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, a new, original movie starring Nikki DeLoach (Curious Caterer Mysteries, Our Holiday Story) and Kristoffer Polaha (A Biltmore Christmas, The Christmas Quest), premiering this year during Hallmark Channel's 16th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event. Production begins later this month at iconic locations including the Grand Ole Opry House. The movie will feature familiar faces from the Opry's star-studded cast, with artists to be announced at a later date.

The network also announced that GRAMMY(R) Award-winning country music superstar and Opry member Brad Paisley will write original music for A Grand Ole Opry Christmas and will also perform. Additionally, Paisley will write and record the official anthem for the network's 2025 Countdown to Christmas on-air campaign.

"As the Grand Ole Opry celebrates its 100th birthday this year, this is the perfect time for us to partner with this beloved, iconic American institution and create Christmas magic together," remarked Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark. "Nikki and Kris are fan favorites and we know they will beautifully bring to life this emotional and heartfelt story that is sure to become an instant classic."

"Our goal in this milestone year is to put the Opry, its artists and the rich songwriting traditions that have made country music a global sensation in front of more people than ever before," said Colin Reed, Executive Chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties, the Opry's parent company. "Our partnership with Hallmark brings these elements to life this holiday season through a creative and uplifting take on a uniquely Nashville story."

"Having the incredibly talented Brad Paisley write and perform original music for the movie is what Christmas dreams are made of," Abbott continued. "And we're equally excited to have him write and record an original song that will be the soundtrack of our on-air campaign throughout the season."

"The Hallmark Channel to me is a major part of finding the joy and the spirit of the holidays," said Paisley. "We turn it on and leave it on in our house like Christmas tree lights or decorations, it's a major part of the atmosphere for us. I loved the challenge of creating that same magic with this music by letting it take you to the same place that these movies and this world Hallmark has built. Can't wait for you to hear what all we've done. Also, knowing the Opry is the setting for one of these movies is very inspiring."

Hallmark is launching an exclusive collection of Hallmark and Opry co-branded products including greeting cards, apparel, accessories, jewelry and gifts - the perfect way for fans to celebrate Christmas in country style. The collection will be available to shop later this year at Hallmark.com, Shop.Opry.com, The Opry Shops and at the Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City.

ABOUT A GRAND OLE OPRY CHRISTMAS

Gentry Woods (DeLoach), daughter of late country music icon Jett Woods - half of the famed duo Winter and Woods - abandoned her dream of a songwriting career and distanced herself from her father's legacy following his tragic car accident 30 years prior. When the Grand Ole Opry invites her to represent Jett at their centennial celebration at Christmas, she's hesitant to return to the place steeped in bittersweet memories. Encouraged by her good friends, Gentry visits the Opry and, while seated in one of the vaunted venue's oak church pews, is suddenly transported to 1995. Gentry's lifelong friend Mac (Polaha) a country music talent manager, finds himself in 1995 as well. Thanks to some Christmas magic, Gentry gets precious time with her father, creative inspiration to finish the song she began decades earlier as a teen and learns surprising answers to questions about her father that have followed her for the last three decades.

The Opry 100 celebration pays tribute to the artists, fans and songs that have cemented the Opry as the cultural heart and home of country music since its debut on WSM radio in 1925. For more information, please visit Opry.com.

Exciting Movie Updates from Great American Family and Hallmark, featuring Heartwarming Christmas Stories and Thrilling Mysteries

A lot of exciting movie news has surfaced this week, circulating on social media and in press articles. Some of you may have caught some or all of it, but I wanted to offer an overview for anyone who might have missed out on any of the highlights.

So, here we go...

*A Newport Christmas-

First up, the Newport Buzz did a fun article covering the new time-travel movie, A Newport Christmas, starring Wes Brown (Haul Out the Holly, Autumn at Apple Hill) and Ginna Claire Mason (A Holiday Spectacular, A Carol for Two).

Both actors are also starring in new May movie premieres on the Hallmark Channel, Hats Off to Love and Love on the Danube: Love Song

According to the Newport Buzz article, filming for A Newport Christmas is taking place in Bowen’s Wharf, located in Newport, Rhode Island, and will be infused with timeless charm with a distinctive Newport flair, offering breathtaking waterfront vistas, cheerful settings, and of course, a Hallmark love story.

This is the storyline Newport Buzz offered, "the romantic time-travel drama centers on a determined woman from 1905 Newport who is mysteriously transported to the present day. Lost in a world she doesn’t recognize, she meets a passionate historian investigating her century-old disappearance. As they unravel the strange circumstances that brought her to modern-day Newport, the pair discover a connection that defies the barriers of time."

We can look for A Newport Christmas to air during Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas!

*A Timeless Christmas Card-

Candace Cameron Bure recently announced to her followers that she is working on two Christmas movies for Great American Family. She just wrapped up one of them and will be filming the next one soon.

Well, I suspected that the film she just completed was named, A Timeless Christmas Card, which is a new Great American Family movie that follows a woman tasked with selling her grandmother's greeting card shop, who unexpectedly finds herself transported back to the store's prime in 1945. She and the shop's charming manager must work together to protect the store's legacy and navigate their time-traveling adventure.

Although there hasn't been any official confirmation from Candace or Great American Family regarding the movie news, Great American Family did release a video of Candace sharing the Easter story. In this clip, her hair and dress are reminiscent of the 1940s, matching the story's theme. Furthermore, Candace has posted a fun video of herself and her daughter, Natasha, both sporting 1940s fashion, which adds to the speculation. (By the way, Natasha also starred in the GAF Christmas movie, A Christmas for the Ages, which took a look back at various decades, and Candace Cameron Bure starred in Journey Back to Christmas, in which she starred as a woman from the 1940s who gets trapped in modern day.)

I've noticed that the new film A Timeless Christmas Card has also been called Timeless Tidings of Joy, so it's possible the title could change before the official announcement.

*Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case of the Yarn Maker-

The "Coming Soon" section on Pure Flix has announced that Candace Cameron Bure's mystery series, Ainsley McGregor Mysteries, will debut its latest installment, A Case for the Yarn Maker, over Memorial Day Weekend! Let's hope this means it will also be shown on Great American Family soon after.

*A Home Sweet Christmas Wedding-

Candace Cameron Bure announced in a Great American Family Facebook Live Event earlier this year, that she and Cameron Mathison would be filming a sequel to their Great American Family holiday movie, Home Sweet Christmas.

The new Christmas title, A HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING, is now newly listed at Production Weekly. So, obviously, someone is getting married in this sequel, assuming this is, indeed, the title for their movie!

Great American Family also recently announced that they would be doing a "special Facebook live event as we reflect on the power of the resurrection and the hope it brings to our lives," which will include both Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison.

To see this special Easter Facebook Live Event, tune in on Great American Family’s and Pure Flix’s Facebook pages April 16th at 8/7c.

*Curious Caterer Mysteries-

Andrew Walker posted pictures to his IG account this week that featured himself, along with his Curious Caterer co-stars Riley Davis and Nikki DeLoach, filming another Curious Caterer mystery for Hallmark.

UPDATE: It appears the images Andrew Walker shared on IG were not current. At this point, there isn't any word on whether more Curious Caterer mysteries will be made.

*A Royal Montana Christmas-

This news has been floating around in the production phase for a while. Fiona Gubelmann is one of the producers behind ‘A Royal Montana Christmas.’ Could she also be the lead in this film? My guess is that it is likely.

This is a telefilm production by Hallmark, via talesfromthecollection, that promises to capture your heart this holiday season. The storyline follows a European princess who, seeking a break from royal responsibilities, embarks on an incognito holiday and unexpectedly finds love in the form of a rugged ranch hand. This delightful tale of romance, set against the scenic backdrop of Montana, is a perfect blend of charm and festive cheer.

*Reel One Entertainment (ROE) and Johnson Production Group (JPG)

Both of these companies, Reel One Entertainment and Johnson Production Group, were recently purchased by Studio TFI, one of the leading groups in audiovisual and film production and distribution in Europe, with over 50 production companies and labels.

In a recent social media announcement, the company disclosed its acquisition of these firms and committed to preserving the captivating storytelling that their audience loves.

If you watch movies on the Hallmark Channel, UPtv, Great American Family, and streaming... then you've likely seen numerous movies under these production companies.

Some of their most recognizable films include: The Christmas Charade, Operation Nutcracker, Noel Next Door, A Gift Wrapped Christmas, The Nine Kittens of Christmas, A Glenbrooke Christmas, and many more.

How will this acquisition impact the movies we see on TV? Only time will tell.

*Filming New Movie-

Alexa PenaVega has just disclosed that she will be busy shooting a new movie for the next three weeks. I’m hoping it’s a project with Great American Family or Great American Pure Flix, but I don’t have any confirmation just yet. I’ll let you know if she reveals any further details! At this time, I only know that her husband Carlos is not her co-star.

Prior to this, Alexa appeared in two films with Carlos: Mr. Manhattan and Get Him Back for Christmas, both of which aired on Great American Family.

Hope you all enjoyed this movie news today. Which one of these movies are you most looking forward to seeing?

Have a blessed weekend, everyone,
Net

πŸ”Ž Two New Mysteries Are Coming to Hallmark Mystery

Nikki DeLoach and Benjamin Ayres, who starred together in the 2020 holiday film Cranberry Christmas and the 2024 film True Justice: Family Ties, will be back with the main cast from that mystery movie, including Katherine McNamara and Markian Tarasiuk. They're working to expand that Hallmark Mystery franchise with two new movies on the way.

Not only does Nikki star in the movies, but she also co-wrote the two new films with her writing partner, Megan McNulty.

The sequels are currently titled Eye For An Eye and Lost Love, but those names might change before they reach their premiere date.

Deadline revealed the description for the second True Justice movie, "Our Warriors work to exonerate a mother wrongly accused of murder. To reopen the case and solve the potential crime, our Justice Warriors need to go undercover and investigate the wealthy parents at a prestigious high school."

In the third movie, Deadline reveals: "Our Warriors work to not only exonerate Marianne for the murder of her missing fiancΓ© but to bring to light a web of counterfeit jewels along the way.

Premiere dates for both mystery films are still to be announced.

Stay tuned, Sleuthers,

Weekend Thoughts...

I'm sooo looking forward to relaxing with many of the Great American Family CHRISTMAS movies this weekend, especially the new premiere, Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons! And I'll be decorating my Christmas tree as I watch! I love when the Christmas lights are the only lights in the room; there's nothing quite like that warm feeling!

Also, I've enjoyed the previous Curious Caterer Mysteries, so I'm looking forward to catching this new premiere sometime soon. Hopefully, this new mystery will be just as good as the prior ones!

*Note #1: The Hallmark Channel is also premiering their last Fall Into Love movie Saturday night, Haunted Wedding, but since the story centers around a ghost and paranormal activity, I've decided not to promote this film.

*Note #2: I haven't seen the new movies airing this weeekend; if you'd like to leave a review, please share in comments below.

*Note #3: For those of you wondering about the Christmas Movie Review Page for 2024, I will have that up next week... so stay tuned!

I hope you all enjoy watching the Christmas movies on Great American Family, too. They are also showing many wonderful promos for their upcoming movies (A Little Women's Christmas, I Heard the Bells, Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons, A Vintage Christmas, A Christmas Less Traveled, Candace Cameron Bure and Mario Lopez promoting Great American Christmas, a lovely promo for Great American Pure Flix, and more!)... so even the commercial breaks are enjoyable, too!

Have a Blessed Weekend, Everyone!

********************

I hope you all have wonderful plans for this last weekend in April. If so, you'll probably want to set your DVR for some (if not all) of the programs above.

It's the last *Spring into Love* movie this weekend for the Hallmark Channel. Next up in May - the network will have their *Countdown to Summer* original movies. Stay tuned for that!

If you want an even more Spring feel, then you'll want to tune in for an Easter celebration this Sunday night on When Calls the Heart! The press images released by Hallmark show the children coloring eggs, which is so sweet to see, but I'm also hoping Pastor Joseph imparts some spiritual teachings around the true meaning of Easter/Resurrection Sunday.

In addition to When Calls the Heart on Sunday night, it's also the fourth episode of Blue Ridge: The Series. For those of you who recently asked about closed captioning, if you watch through the Cowboy Way Channel, it does not function; however, subtitles will work for Blue Ridge: The Series through Plex or XumoPlay. And both streaming options are free! I hope this helps many of you enjoy the show even more.

The new premiere from the Curious Caterer mystery wheel, starring Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker, certainly looks intriguing. I especially like their period costumes in this, and at least Hallmark has kept this series going - so far. Hopefully, "Foiled Plans" is just as delicious as the previous Curious Caterer mysteries.

Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies/episodes mentioned above. If you'd like to leave a review, please share in comments below.

I hope you all have a bright and beautiful Spring weekend!

Blessings!

Mystery and Christmas Returns, Along with Romance and Adventure on Hallmark and UPtv - SEE HERE:

Sleuthers, are you ready for Hallmark's first mystery movie premiere for 2024? This new film, True Justice: Family Ties, has an all-star cast, that includes veteran Hallmark stars, Nikki DeLoach and Benjamin Ayres, who will likely be joining forces to try to solve this all-new case. Just like last year, before Christmas, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' new premieres will air on Friday nights at 9pm/8c. An encore presentation will air this Sunday night at 7pm/6c.

And even better news for all of us Sleuthers: a new Curious Caterer is currently filming, and a new Hannah Swensen will be filming soon! Usually, I wait to announce these films when the networks make official announcements, but these two working titles, Curious Caterer: Sticks and Scones and One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery are obviously headed to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. I know many of us are wondering if Cameron Mathison will continue to star in the series as Detective Mike Kingston. Personally, I can't imagine the series without him, but for now, this is still a mystery.

Plus, if you're missing the deluge of Christmas movies night and day, the Hallmark Channel has a little treat for us beginning on Sunday! A marathon of Christmas movies will air ALL DAY on Martin Luther King Jr. Day - spanning Sunday night through Monday and ending early Tuesday.

See details on these movies below...

Sparks fly between these two as Jenny realizes Nate is a thrill-seeker who has work/life balance figured out, but there’s one problem… he’s the brother of her boss.

I hope you all have a great weekend planned. Our temps are going to be dropping drastically, dangerously low, and we have some bad weather coming in - rain, high winds, and snow, possible blizzard-like conditions. Are any of you expecting a forecast like this, too? With weather like this coming our way, it looks like we'll be staying home this weekend and hoping and praying our power stays on.

If I get the chance, I'll be watching some movies I have recorded and want to catch up on, mostly Christmas, of course, and I'm hoping the new mystery is good, as well, because I've really been missing them. 9 out of 10 times I can usually spot the culprit, but trying to fit the puzzle pieces together is rather intriguing.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies premiering this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether these films are family-friendly, please share in the comments below. Thank you so much to everyone who shares with us.

Keep warm and safe this weekend, everyone.

Blessings to You All!
