Press Release via Great American Media:

GREAT AMERICAN MEDIA
ANNOUNCES TREVOR DONOVAN
ADDED TO CAST OF
‘WHEN HOPE CALLS,’
STARRING CINDY BUSBY, CHRISTOPHER RUSSELL,
NICK BATEMAN, WENDY CREWSON,
HANNEKE TALBOT, MORGAN KOHAN,
AND RYAN-JAMES (RJ) HATANAKA
GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY
MAINSTAY FEATURED IN TWO-EPISODE STORY ARC

NEW YORK, NY – September 30, 2024 – Great American Media announced Trevor Donovan has been added to the cast of “When Hope Calls” in a two-episode story arc for season two, which has begun filming for World Premiere early 2025 on Great American Family, then streaming on Pure Flix. Donovan’s role may be ongoing within “When Hope Calls,” and other universes Great American expands upon beloved author Janette Oke’s legendary When Calls the Heart book series. Donovan plays Constable Jim Reynolds, an experienced Mountie based in Clearwater. A strapping man, proficient in horse riding and physical pursuits, Reynolds is known for his strong presence and skills in the field. Mountie Jim Reynolds premieres in episode 2003 when Michael and Nora arrive to pick up a child under his care. In a later episode in season two, Reynolds captures cattle rustlers preying on Brookfield ranches.

“When Hope Calls” season two stars Cindy Busby (Crown Prince of Christmas) as “Nora,” Christopher Russell (A Dash of Christmas) as “Constable, Mountie Michael,” Nick Bateman (A Christmas Miracle with Daisy) as “Wyatt,” Wendy Crewson (“Frankie Drake Mysteries”) as “Tess Stewart,” Hanneke Talbot (“Star Trek”) as “Maggie Parsons,” Morgan Kohan (“Sullivan’s Crossing”) as “Lillian Walsh,” and Ryan-James (RJ) Hatanaka (“Criminal Minds”) as “Mountie Gabriel.”

“When Hope Calls” is a spinoff of Oke’s legendary book series, When Calls the Heart and followed a pair of sisters, Lillian Walsh (Kohan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudon) to the town of Brookfield, circa 1916. “When Hope Calls” is a family drama centered on the town’s orphanage and its residents who meet tremendous challenges while creating a hopeful, faith-filled community on the cusp of change in the frontier town while nurturing the children in their care.

“When Hope Calls” had 10 episodes in season one, followed by two one-hour Christmas episodes in 2021 that saw Lori Loughlin reprise her role as Abigail Stanton. There are eight episodes in season two, and while the opening episodes pay homage to the romance of “Lillian” and “Mountie Gabriel,” new characters are introduced that are seminal to the orphanage and children, the sprawling farms and ranchlands, and to the town of Brookfield who welcome a new Constable from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, “Mountie Michael” (Russell).

“When Hope Calls” is executive produced by Brad Krevoy, Cara Russell, Lorenzo Nardini, and Amy Krell (full producer billing block released soon). Bradley Walsh directs from Original screenplay by showrunner and writer, Alfonso Moreno.

πŸŽ„ Great American Family's Revised 2024 Christmas Movie Schedule πŸŽ„

Over the weekend, many of us watching Great American Family learned that the network had revised some of the 2024 Christmas schedules.

The first Christmas movie premiere for Great American Christmas will now be "A Vintage Christmas," starring Merritt Patterson and Christopher Russell.

The second Christmas movie premiere is the newly retitled movie, "Wreaths and Ribbons," starring Kristin Wollett and Casey Elliott. (This movie was previously titled "A Wreathmaker Christmas.")

There are also other schedule changes, including "Sleigh Bells and Sugarplums," starring Jill Wagner and Jesse Hutch, "Get Him Back for Christmas," starring Carlos and Alexa PenaVega, and more!

See the newly revised Great American Christmas schedule - *click here*.

Plus, *click here* to see which Great American Family TV series Trevor Donovan is joining.

Blessings on your day, everyone.

Please know... as I share this Christmas movie news this afternoon that is happy and joyful, my heart is also heavy as I watch the news of those who are hurting in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, etc... who lost loved ones or received horrific damage from hurricane/tropical storm Helene. My prayers are with you all.

For those of us who don't live close, I'm sure many of you, like myself, are reaching out to family and friends who live in or near these devastated areas. If any of you have a specific prayer, please share it with us in the comments below.

God bless you all,

TV ALERT: Great American Family May Lose Streaming Provider

If you've been watching Great American Family lately, you may have seen a new message pop up at the bottom of the screen for viewers who have the streaming service Frndly TV.

As seen in my screen-grabbed image above, the message states: "On Oct. 1, this channel will no longer be available to you! Contact FRNDLY at support@frndlyTV.com today!"

I saw this message last night and chatted with Frndly TV this morning about it. The customer service representative at Frndly TV stated (in our chat) that both companies are currently in active negotiations.

However, if you have an account with Frndly TV, please email them today. Let your voice be heard. Please tell them you want Frndly TV to keep Great American Family! I believe the more feedback they receive from their customers, the more likely they are to reach an agreement.

I also asked about the Great American Faith & Living channel, and customer service stated that since it is part of the overall Great American Channel's package, it would also be leaving their streaming service on October 1st.

As for Great American Pure Flix, which was just recently announced that it would be joining the streaming service as a paid subscription add-on, the customer service rep. had no further information on that at this time.

Of course, I am not thrilled about this development, as I love watching and recording my favorite Great American Family movies through Frndly TV, as it's so easy and convenient. I asked the Frndly TV rep. what would happen to my previous recordings from GAF, and they responded they did not know. The rep. then apologized and said they were doing everything they could do to keep the channels we wanted.

If you have Frndly TV, please reach out -
to this email ( support@frndlyTV.com )
or chat ( https://help.frndlytv.com/support/home ).

Today marks 20 days until the Christmas movies begin on Great American Family. Please let Frndly TV know you want their streaming provider to keep this channel! I'm hoping a deal can be made that will satisfy both companies and the viewers. We are coming upon the Christmas season, which is the season of miracles, after all!

Have a Blessed Day, Everyone!

πŸ“– Book Your Weekend With New Movie Premieres - SEE HERE:

 Hello, movie friends!

Are you looking for something new to watch this weekend? I may have the key to this question below, as we unlock the latest movies together!

Great American Family's newest movie premiere, "Mystery by the Book" (previously titled "Key to Love"), is lighthearted, charming, and romantic. The mystery portion is low-key but still intriguing. I watched this movie early on Great American Pure Flix, and I've included my review below.

The Hallmark Channel will surely rope in viewers with their latest premiere, "The Real West," which features beautiful countryside, romance, comedy, and cowboys!

Check out details on these movies below and some of the best classic movies airing this weekend...

Saturday, September 28, 2024:

Storyline: A bookstore owner is in a difficult relationship with a book cover model until an antique key found in a false book unlocks their romance.

Premieres Saturday, September 28, 2024
at 8pm/7c. on Great American Family

Movie Review:

Mystery by the Book – (I streamed this movie on Great American Pure Flix)

This romantic-comedy is lighthearted, sweet, and endearing. Some of the story is somewhat predictable, but that’s part of the charm that made this movie such an enjoyable watch.

Corey Sevier, who is well-known for a number of TV movies, including “Noel Next Door,” “Everything Christmas,” “Northern Lights of Christmas,” etc… is the true star of this movie, with his portrayal of Josh, an architect and book cover model. His charming personality shined through, as it always does. I felt Corey Sevier was the glue that held this movie together.

In the beginning, I wasn’t certain about the chemistry between Josh and Samantha, who owns and runs the local book store. Samantha and her friend, Brittany, sometimes act like giddy teenagers; however, in spite of that, I still found the movie to be heartwarming and amusing.

It was delightful to watch Josh and Samantha search through Josh’s grandfather’s estate attempting to find a hidden treasure. I especially enjoyed seeing them play dress-up with his grandparent’s clothing and accessories.

Some parts of the movie may be a bit unrealistic, perhaps, but “Mystery by the Book” is a relaxing, family-friendly rom-com that isn’t overly serious, and it leaves you smiling and feeling good inside. ~Net

I hope you all have a nice, pleasant, and safe weekend.

My heart and prayers go out to all of you who are in the path of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene. May God be with you all. Please, please, be safe out there, especially where there is flooding and destruction.

We are finally receiving some much-needed rain here in the Midwest, but nothing severe, thankfully; although, we may have strong winds heading our way. I hope you all are doing well wherever you live.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movie, "The Real West". If you'd like to post a review on whether this film is family-friendly after it premieres, please share in comments. I'm personally loving the cowboy/country feel to this movie, so I'm hoping it's a good one!

"Mystery by the Book" is a delightful, family-friendly movie. In case you missed it, I shared a review for this movie above.

In addition to the new movies, there are plenty of great classic movie options airing this weekend, as well, including "Love in Bloom" on Great American Family (I may be redundant in saying so, but I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this movie), the "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries" marathon airs Sunday on Hallmark Mystery (I always enjoy sleuthing with our girl, Candace Cameron Bure, and next week her all-new "Ainsley McGregor Mysteries" premieres on Great American Family), and my last recommendation is "Styled with Love" on UPtv (If you haven't seen it, be sure to record it or give it a watch; it's such a sweet rom-com)!

Have a Blessed Weekend, Everyone!
Again, take care...

πŸŽ„ Lifetime Announces Christmas Movie Starring Tia Mowry (Includes a "Sister, Sister" Reunion!)

Lifetime announced its next Christmas movie today: A Very Merry Beauty Salon, executive produced by and starring Tia Mowry (Miracle in Motor City, A Very Vintage Christmas).

Tia will reunite with a special actor from her days on the sitcom, "Sister, Sister"!

See all of the details below...

Press Release via Lifetime:

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 25, 2024) - It’s beginning to look a lot more like Christmas as Lifetime announces the greenlight of the new original movie, A Very Merry Beauty Salon, executive produced and starring Tia Mowry. RonReaco Lee, Donna Biscoe, Cocoa Brown and Ashli Auguillard are also set to star in A Very Merry Beauty Salon. The movie follows the lively women of an Atlanta beauty salon owned by Sienna (Mowry) who must prepare for the annual Tinsel Ball, but is Sienna also prepared for love when Lawrence (Lee) arrives to town? This marks a reunion for Mowry and Lee who previously starred together in the iconic sitcom Sister, Sister. This marks the final installment of Mowry’s three-picture deal with the network.

In A Very Merry Beauty Salon, Sienna, the owner of the bustling Divine Beauty Salon is preparing for Atlanta’s Tinsel Ball, where she will be honored for her charitable work in the community. The annual event takes a glamourous turn with the arrival of Lawrence, a charismatic CEO whose family’s wine brand is now co-sponsoring the Ball. Sparks fly between them, but Sienna’s mother Georgia (Donna Biscoe) who is the head of the Ball’s committee, worries his involvement may ruin the event’s traditions. As Sienna and Lawrence are unexpectedly paired as dance partners, romance blooms, setting the stage for a steamy romance that challenges Sienna’s thoughts on love and family and makes this year’s Tinsel Ball the most memorable yet.

Cocoa Brown and Ashli Auguillard star as Miss Kimmy and Ella, hairdressers at the salon.

A Very Merry Beauty Salon is produced for Lifetime by FOX Entertainment Studios’ (FES) Mar Vista Entertainment in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment. Adam Shepard, Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew executive produce for FES. Richard Foster and Chet Fenster executive produce for GroupM Motion Entertainment. Tia Mowry, Adam Griffin and Mychael Chinn also executive produce. Bobby Yan directs from a script by Tara Knight.

A Very Merry Beauty Salon joins the slate of the previous announced movies including FES’ The Holiday Junkie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, as well as Christmas in the Spotlight starring Jessica Lord, Laith Wallschleger, Jennie Mai and Haley Kalil. Lifetime’s full slate will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mowry is represented by UTA, Vault Entertainment, True Public Relations and Felker Toczek Suddleson McGinnis Ryan.

--------------

The press release above mentions that this movie project marks the final installment of Tia Mowry’s three-picture deal with the network. At this point, we don't know if they will sign Tia to do more movies. That decision will likely be based on the ratings of this Christmas movie.

You may have seen Tia Mowry's name in the press recently since she mentioned in her We TV docuseries, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, that she wishes she and her twin sister, Tamera, "were still close."

I know a lot of fans were concerned about the sister's relationship, which is probably why Tia released a statement to US Weekly to clarify, "I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families, and their children need to lean on them. We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities within our lives. That is what that was all about."

Tia further explained that they are also physically distant, making it harder to stay close.

Hopefully, through all of this, the sisters can find time again for one another. Tamera also has a new Christmas movie premiering on the Hallmark Channel this holiday season.

Have a Merry Day!

UPtv's New October 2024 Movie Premieres

UPtv took a bit of a break over Summer from new movie premieres; however, the channel, known for its uplifting movies, sitcoms, and dramas, recently released its 2024 Christmas movie premieres for its "Most Uplifting Christmas Ever," and now UPtv has announced two new movie premieres coming this October.

*********************

Movie: Snapshot of Love

Airing: October 6, 2024

Starring: Lexi Giovagnoli and Benedict Mazurek

Storyline: Adrian is a Hollywood paparazzi assigned to get photos of a very elusive star, Parker Bennett. Little does she know, she’ll get her chance when they both end up at the same BnB in the mountains of NC.

Movie Review:

πŸ“· UPTV will be airing Nicely's Snapshot of Love 2 weeks from now. (and yes, it IS a good movie!). -Maria

πŸ“· We turned off 'Snapshot of Love' fairly quickly. Terrible acting and horrible reviews sealed the deal for us to stop watching. ~Joan

*********************

πŸ“·: Director Heather Hawthorn-Doyle
πŸ“·: Katrina Neuhaus

Movie: Return to Sender

Airing: October 27, 2024

Starring: Markian Tarasiuk and Maddy Hillis

Storyline: When Meg moves into her new apartment she just wants a quiet place to study for her upcoming CPA exam but instead finds a mystery. A love letter marked Return to Sender but with no way to track down the recipient or original sender. Determined to help reunite the lost lovers she teams up with apartment manager Oliver and a pair of podcasters to try and track them down. The mystery and her growing feelings for Oliver however interfere with her studies and cause her to question whether or not she wants to take the safe course she has charted or find a new path for her life.

*********************

Please know I haven't screened the movies listed above. Snapshot of Love has been available to watch via streaming. If you've seen it and would like to post a review, please share in the comments below.

Return to Sender is a brand new movie premiere; in fact, this movie just filmed this summer, from June 6th to June 24th. As the cast was filming, I recall seeing
many behind-the-scenes pictures via social media (I included two on-the-set images above), and I was curious where this movie would end up. Initially, I figured either the Hallmark Channel or Hallmark+, since the lead actor, Markian Tarasiuk, has done several movie projects with their network, but I am pleasantly surprised to see this film land at UPtv, and I hope this means that UPtv will be acquiring/producing more rom-com movies beyond the holiday season!

I hope you'll enjoy these movies on UPtv this October!

Happy movie-watching, everyone,

Something fun...

For those of you on Instagram, be sure to follow (if you don't already) my movie friend, Brad Deiter, on his IG page: @positivelybrad.

Brad recently hosted trivia challenges and interviews for 90s con, which featured stars from Full House, 7th Heaven, Family Matters, Brotherly Love, and other television series, and now he has something special planned for the Christmas season!

Here's the scoop directly from Brad:

"Christmas came early this year!

I am so excited to announce that I will be helping to make your Christmas even more MERRY AND BRIGHT as I am joined by some of your (and my) favorite Christmas movie stars!

Join us here on Instagram live as we discuss their favorite holiday traditions, newest projects, play some trivia, and hear about their favorite charities!

❓Any guesses as to who might be joining me?❓

I will be announcing each guest over the new few weeks (and the dates of each live video). I will also open up the comment section for questions!"

Spoiler Alert!!! Brad gave me an exclusive spoiler that one of the interviews he will be doing is with Jen Lilley, so you'll definitely want to follow him on his IG page, @positivelybrad, to see that and see more surprises coming throughout the Christmas season!

Also, while you are on Instagram, be sure to say hello to me here: @itsawonderfulmovieblog. I just started IG at the end of April, so I'm still learning new things. If you have any special tips, please share!

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

I hope you all enjoy the new TV movies this weekend. My DVR is set for both movies, even though I've seen Love at the Ranch. I recall it being an enjoyable watch, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again on Great American Family. Please share your movie pick in comments below.

Falling Together is a movie that highlights Alzheimer's disease. World Alzheimer's Day is recognized every year on September 21st, which is this Saturday. Due to the movie's theme, for some, this movie may be uplifting, and for others, this movie may be difficult to watch. I know many of you who visit here have shared (in comments beneath this post) that you have seen someone in your family or a friend go through this. I have seen the same with someone in my family; it is extremely hard and challenging, but we had special, wonderful moments, too, and I would never exchange that time we shared for anything in this world.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movie, Falling Together. If you'd like to post a review on whether this film is family-friendly after it premieres, please share in comments.

Celeste can't help but delight in Max's infectious enthusiasm, love for all things Christmas and perhaps most importantly, his comfort with the unknown. And after a romantic wintery night at the campus observatory with Max, Celeste starts to wonder if being open to life's surprises is more important than knowing the answer to everything.

There's a lot at stake this year with Kate's school needs to best the rival St. Nicholas School or be forced to close their doors, and Nick (Santa Claus) needs to remember who he is, or the fate of Christmas might be at stake.
