Weekend Thoughts...
I'm sooo looking forward to relaxing with many of the Great American Family CHRISTMAS movies this weekend, especially the new premiere, Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons! And I'll be decorating my Christmas tree as I watch! I love when the Christmas lights are the only lights in the room; there's nothing quite like that warm feeling!
Also, I've enjoyed the previous Curious Caterer Mysteries, so I'm looking forward to catching this new premiere sometime soon. Hopefully, this new mystery will be just as good as the prior ones!
*Note #1: The Hallmark Channel is also premiering their last Fall Into Love movie Saturday night, Haunted Wedding, but since the story centers around a ghost and paranormal activity, I've decided not to promote this film.
*Note #2: I haven't seen the new movies airing this weeekend; if you'd like to leave a review, please share in comments below.
*Note #3: For those of you wondering about the Christmas Movie Review Page for 2024, I will have that up next week... so stay tuned!
I hope you all enjoy watching the Christmas movies on Great American Family, too. They are also showing many wonderful promos for their upcoming movies (A Little Women's Christmas, I Heard the Bells, Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons, A Vintage Christmas, A Christmas Less Traveled, Candace Cameron Bure and Mario Lopez promoting Great American Christmas, a lovely promo for Great American Pure Flix, and more!)... so even the commercial breaks are enjoyable, too!
I love the start of the new Christmas movie rush! :)
ReplyDeleteChristmas Wreaths and Ribbons will definitely be my top priority!
(and I'm seriously looking forward to this site's yearly Christmas Movie Reviews page!). -Maria
Yay for Christmas movies! I will definitely be recording the new Curious Caterer, I just love Nikki and Andrew together π It’s kind of strange for me to see Casey with someone besides Shay but I’ll give the movie a fair try. I too, will be skipping the new Hallmark Mystery movie due to the ghost/paranormal aspect of the movie. It’s a shame too, because I do enjoy Janel Parrish. Unfortunately I think Hallmark will continue making these movies with ghosts because they seem to be popular amongst people I know that have watched them, so they will probably keep making them…..
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend everyone!
~Paula
I was thinking the exact same thing Net!...the GAF Christmas commercial promos are WONDERFUL! I'm enjoying them as much as the movies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for updating the Great American Christmas Movie Guide Net. I much prefer your guide over the official one that GAF puts out. it works much better for my needs.
ReplyDeleteJim, I'm so glad you like it! Thank you for letting me know.
DeleteEnjoy checking each Christmas movie off the list! :)
According to GAFAM comment that TV Guide could update within the next 24 hours but Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons will air on October 12, 2024 at 8pm ET, regardless of the guide
ReplyDeleteI check TV Guide that they changed from Love in Aruba to Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons

We’ve been watching the Christmas movies all day on Great American Family. You’re right, it’s the best time of year! I really enjoyed seeing A Paris Christmas Waltz again. Christie
ReplyDeleteI’m happy to have the Christmas movies on GAF, but some of those Christmas movies on Hallmark Family might tempt me away.
ReplyDeleteKicked off the Christmas rush by rewatching Journey to Christmas. Loving the new trailers!
ReplyDeleteAnd this Thursday at 4 am, there's this very old gem of a movie airing that I haven't seen in literal YEARS! It was 1 of the first movies I ever watched on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.
Can you guess it? (wink wink!). -Maria
My cable service on Thursday at 4am is showing Matlock π

Maria, I just checked, and I'm seeing "The Angel of Pennsylvania Avenue" in the guide. Like you, it's been quite awhile since I, too, have seen this movie. I'm recalling the characters and the era being warm and intriguing.
DeleteNice to see a classic this movie added to Great American Family! Thank you for making sure we caught this. Hope we see more additions like this throughout the season! :)
anytime! -Maria
DeleteWhile I have enjoyed the Curious Caterer movies, I will forever morn the loss of the ending we were robbed of with Mystery 101. Looking forward to Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons because Casey Elliot is a dear friend of mine.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree ⬆️
DeleteBefore I had a chance to read your post on this, I rec'd an email from Great American Family (via gacmedia) this morning about its premiere tonight. Here's my feedback to them:
ReplyDeleteRe: πChristmas Cheer Is Coming Early This Year!
Thanks for the notice because when I figured out tonight's TV yesterday, I missed Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons (2024) because it wasn't listed as New or as a Premiere in ZAP2it, my TV grid source.
Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons (2024)
7:00 PM ON GFAMHD 1529 • TV-G • Stereo • CC
A woman receives help from a selfless neighbor when an arm injury puts her holiday wreath deliveries in jeopardy.
Still, I'm going to have to defer it to a later repeat since it's premiering on a college football season Saturday chock full of games.
Furthermore, that title is not listed in IMDb, so I did a collaborations search on its stars and found that its listed title there is Wreathmaker Christmas, which is not scheduled to premiere until November 30!
Wreathmaker Christmas (TV Movie 2024) | Family
Wreathmaker Christmas: With Casey Elliott, Kristin Wollett, Bruce Brockett. After a wreath maker hurts her arm, ...
Pulling a fast one doesn't always work on savvy searchers!
So, as producer or presenter, are you going to submit a correction or update to IMDb for title and release date, or must I?
TVsenior, The title, thankfully, has now been updated to "Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons" on IMDB. The network made these changes at the last minute, so many online locations and TV guides had to change this information rather quickly before the premiere. However, I believe some guides were never changed before the premiere, so many thought "Love in Aruba" was playing and not "Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons."
DeleteAs soon as I learned this premiere date might be a possibility, I shared the news here with everyone. It is harder to get the word out once a schedule has been changed. In this case, this particular movie had two premiere date changes and two title changes.
Thank you for your comment and for sharing your concerns.
Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit was an enjoyable mystery, at least until the end. Andrew and Nikki were great together, as these two always are. I enjoyed the mystery, which unlike others is not an easy one to solve, until the resolution, which I thought was rushed and got a little silly (like the singing?!). Anyway, it is a worthwhile watch, even if it's just to watch these two pros in action together.
ReplyDeleteI watched the Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons movie and while it was fine it was a bit too sweet at the end. I am glad I watched that over the movie on Hallmark as I am not a fan of Janel Parrish. I will not watch any of the movies that she is in.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your telling what the upcoming movies are about and it gives me the ability to pick what I will and will not watch.
I look forward to seeing the future Christmas movies.
I watched Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons on GAF and absolutely loved it! I loved the storyline, and loved the whole helping your neighbor and providing a service around the holidays! Casey and Kristen had such sweet chemistry and I loved their families as well! 100% recommend watching this one!
ReplyDeleteChristmas Wreaths and Ribbons is another winner from Candlelight Media! (plus its the 3rd time a movie from them has opened the Christmas Season!). -Maria
ReplyDeleteChristmas Wreaths and Ribbons was so sweet, a great way to start the season. Is it just me or did Casey look even younger than years passed?
ReplyDeleteCasey Elliott has become a new favorite for us on Great American Family. It was nice to see him play a different character than the Destined series, but we liked that he still played the nice guy. I would recommend this movie. Robert
ReplyDeleteChristmas Wreaths and Ribbons was, well, just okay for me. Nothing really new or intriguing about the plot. I thought Casey did a fine job in his role, but I didn't care for Kristin's character (too off-putting), and I didn't think her acting was all that good. Not a movie that I will be revisiting.
ReplyDeleteHi Mark25,
DeleteI was beginning to think it was just me because everyone seemed to enjoy "Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons". But, I see you felt the same way my husband and I did about this movie. We honestly, did not care for Kristin's character either. We agree she wasn't that good of an actress. Casey, however, was excellent as always but I think he pairs much better with Shae. We will not be revisiting the movie either.
Mark 25 and Joan,
DeleteI get what you both mean about the approach of Kristin's character in "Christmas Wreaths and Ribbons." In real life, Kristin is such a fun, bubbly, joyful person. I really wish we could've seen her character warm up and enjoy life and Christmas more. I think that would've made a nice addition to the story.
Hi Net,
DeleteThanks. I never like putting negative comments, on here, because I want to be a positive person. I hope to see Kristin again, in another movie, because if you say she is such a fun, bubbly and joyful person, in real life, then I have to give her another chance! I really trust and value your opinion. :-) Looking forward to a full-slate of Christmas movies this coming weekend! YAY!
Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons was so cute! I have loved Casey Elliott on GAF and I’m glad I gave it a chance because it was kind of strange seeing him without Shay. The storyline wasn’t the most interesting, like there really wasn’t a plot or climax to me, but nonetheless the actors were good, the decorations throughout the movie were beautiful to see and I loved the pastor and his positive spirit. I don’t know if I have ever seen a Candlelight Media movie but it was a keeper for me!

I'm in the middle of watching Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons and just saw the promo ad for "I Heard the Bells". Wow! Gave me chills. Somehow I had missed this movie on my radar even though it's on Net's lists. It's based on the true story of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, during the Civil War, writing the poem that later became the beloved Christmas carol. Hope the whole movie is as good as the promo suggests. Can't wait for Thanksgiving night! Love the song! It seems quite relevant for our current times... and offers hope!
ReplyDeleteAnd in despair I bowed my head:
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men."
(So far, Christmas Wreaths & Ribbons is sweet and has pretty decorations but it's just not knockin' my fuzzy socks off yet. We shall see... ) ~~Jane (aka Jane-gle Bells)
Jane aka Jane-gle Bells (love it!), this song is so great, and for me the best is Bing's version! Ever since your comment was posted, I've had his version stuck in my head (and that's not so bad)!
DeleteMark 25, Bing!!! Love that man's voice!! Not a bad version of the song to have playing on repeat in your head!! :) ~~Jane
Deleteexciting times
ReplyDeleteA few additional comments from me: While we enjoyed the latest "Curious Caterer" movie, we thought the last installment was better. I do like Andrew and Nikki as a couple though. And, my husband and I watched "Love at the Thanksgiving Parade" again, for the first time since it aired in 2012. It is such a sweet movie and I absolutely adore Autumn's wardrobe. I have always liked clothes from the 40's and 50's. Plus, Antonio is so handsome. :-)
ReplyDeleteChristmas Wreaths and Ribbons – What a sweet movie to begin Great American Christmas 2024! This movie is perfectly wholesome, ideal for family viewing. Kristin Wollett and Casey Elliott’s characters, Rebecca and Jason, had just the right chemistry – a little friction and a little spark.
ReplyDeleteOverall, this is a charming, subtle love story. I liked the inclusion of various nativity sets, which highlighted the true reason for Christmas, and it was also nice to see the characters attend church with family and friends and give back to those in their community.
The way Jason gave of his time and talents to help his neighbor when she was in need was truly inspiring. His thoughtfulness and kindness was a true example of loving one’s neighbor as thyself. (Leviticus 19:18)
This movie is a pleasant, lighthearted watch; I look forward to catching it throughout the Christmas season on Great American Family. ~Net
Operation Mistletoe and Renovation Romance (Jessica and Daniel's new movie) will both launch on Hulu on Nov 1st. -Maria
