I think the new Hallmark movie, "It Was Always You," with Erin Krakow and Tyler Hynes, looks really cute and funny; plus, the new UPtv movie, "Hint of Love," looks sweet; I always like the mystery marathons and these two, "Aurora Teagarden" and "Mystery 101" are my favorites; however, most of all, I'm looking forward to an all new episode of "When Calls the Heart!"

Storyline via Hallmark: A writer (Jill Wagner) seeks the identity of the person who helps grant wishes that are placed upon the angel tree, and in the process, reconnects with her childhood friend (Lucas Bryant).

My Review of "The Angel Tree":
There is something so pure and inspiring about this delightful story of giving. Immediately you find yourself caught up in the mystery of who the unidentified "angel" could be - who delivers gifts and grants wishes to their community each Christmas, based on the wishes placed at the town's outdoor Angel Tree. I personally loved the connection Jill Wagner and Lucas Bryant shared, they easily flowed together on screen and appeared to be friends from long ago, just like their characters - Rebecca McBride and Matthew Anderson. I loved Matthew's coffee shop, and the fact that his nephew, Owen, helped him out there. It was also sweet that Owen was staying with his Uncle as his mother was serving in the military. Throughout the movie, it was clever how Matthew and Owen kept coming up with cute names for various coffee flavors, but best of all... it was most fun to watch Rebecca (Jill Wagner) try to figure out who Angel is - so she can write an important article. I loved the magic, mystery, and wonder of it all!

for Historical Docudrama Series

Wild West Chronicles

Inspired by the true tales of famous characters and unsung heroes of the American West, the series will make its exclusive television debut on Sunday, April 11th at 5:30PM ET.

(Indian Land, SC – February 24, 2021) General-entertainment network INSP, the leader in Western & Western-adjacent programming, has set the premiere date for Wild West Chronicles. The unique historical docudrama series, based on true stories of the old west, will premiere on Sunday, April 11th at 5:30PM ET. Wild West Chronicles is a unique twist on the historical docudrama,” said Miller. “We didn’t want to do a typical docudrama with a bunch of talking-head experts, so we built a concept around a newspaper reporter who travels the frontier during the late 1800s to uncover the truth behind the wildest tales of the West. As he chases down stories, viewers meet notorious criminals, courageous lawmen, and everyday heroes of the Old West. The anthology series follows the legendary Bat Masterson, once a formidable gunslinger and lawman, after he trades his sheriff’s badge for a pen and becomes a newspaper reporter. In each episode, Masterson tracks down eyewitnesses who share their vivid memories of Wild Bill Hickok, Stagecoach Mary, Butch Cassidy, Bass Reeves, and other remarkable characters of the Old West. As they tell their stories, a bygone age of hardship and lawlessness is brought to life when fearless lawmen rode tall in the saddle and vicious criminals fought to escape justice.

Even though this is not a new movie, I thought many of you would be interested in this show - based on our love of When Calls the Heart and other period dramas.

INSP is a wonderful channel that shows family programming, like The Waltons and classic westerns, like Bonanza. It sounds like the Wild West Chronicles will be a fascinating series about the history of the old west.

🌞 "This is all very strange. The movie My Birthday Romance has been shown somewhere before. A while ago we were "Channel-hopping" and happened to come across this as it was just starting but when we saw the name Jesse Hutch decided to watch it. We forgot to note what Channel it was and haven't found it since! Now there's nothing new about the plot - we've seen this many times before in various guises but what elevated this was the interaction between Jesse and Ali Cobrin (whom I hadn't come across before) which was excellent and it moved along at a nice pace whuch kept your interest. Her brother was an interesting character too. It did go a bit pear-shaped in the final quarter but the actual ending was good and overall it was an above average movie. No problems as regards family frindly too." ~Anonymous

🌞 "I just watched Love at Sunset Terrace and absolutely loved it! The actors and actresses just all seemed very natural and realistic to me. Definitely family friendly and worth a re-watch. (One thing that was a bit distracting: you know how sometimes in the bottom right corner of the screen they'll have a little hallmark or uptv logo/icon? It's sometimes distracting to me when they do that, but all throughout this movie they kept popping in a large advertisement for The Passion of Christ so that a rather large image of Jesus kept popping into the bottom right corner of the screen. I was not thrilled to have a picture of Jesus's head bobbing about on the picnic table or the kitchen counter or the kayak. I wonder who at uptv thought that would be a good idea??!" ~Jane

"When Hope Calls" is a wonderful series! I've seen every episode and I wholeheartedly recommend it for family viewing. Truly beautiful and heartwarming! What a great way to look forward to an all new season of "When Calls the Heart," by binge watching "When Hope Calls" all day Saturday, with guest stars- Kevin McGarry (Mountie Nathan Grant), Kavan Smith (Lee Coulter), and Pascale Hutton (Rosemary Coulter).

Speaking of "When Calls the Heart," I fully anticipate (although, I have not seen it) the new season to be family friendly and wholesome, based on past episodes and statements from the producers on this upcoming season. I hope your heart will lead you to Hope Valley Sunday nights!

🎄"Good Morning Christmas The Irresistible Blueberry Farm is one of my all-time favourite Hallmark movies and when I saw this I wondered if they could possibly re-capture the amazing chemistry between Alison and Marc. Wow - did they just - it was absolutely off the scale. The banter between the two leads was hilarious, the plot was surprisingly original and although there were many of the usual Christmas scenarios - gingerbread housemaking, ice skating etc they were done with a certain irreverence which was refreshing and placed a new slant on them. Good secondary cast too - I particularly liked Matthew Dowden who played the part of the Deputy Mayor - although he spent a good deal of time with Melissa there was never any hint of anything romantic between them. He has played secondary roles in a few Hallmark movies now and I'd really love to see him land a lead role. And as so often is not the case they had a great ending which left you with such a warm glow as regards the romance. I did have one beef though which actually upset me to some degree I personally don't like proposals which are made in public - I feel they are something intimate and private but that's my problem of course. However to deliberately set up a live TV performance of a very private moment without permission was totally invasive and beyond the pale. Like many others, I loved them originally in “The Irresistible Blueberry Farm” and while this movie was different than that, I still enjoyed it very much. The energy both Alison and Marc brought to their characters was electrifying. Since the two had worked together before in real life, it was easier to see these two in these roles as rivaling colleagues. I loved how as time went by - they began to see each other in a whole new light. It was nice to watch as they went ice skating and decorated the Christmas tree – how their normally competitive natures began to dissolve into having feelings for one another. I'm starting to really like her. This movie was kind of light on the romance, but I almost liked it better because of that -- less sappiness and more about family relationships. Let it Snow!!! My Top 12 Snow Related Movies...

Winter Storm Uri arrived!

It SNOWED and it SNOWED all afternoon yesterday and into the early morning hours here in the Midwest. We received somewhere between 9 to 11 inches of snow, at least, and the snow drifts are even higher! Walking out to our barn was quite the feat during the storm - and once we turned around to head back to the house our previous tracks were completely gone. Unfortunately, it wasn't the pretty snowfall we typically see in the movies. No. No. No. It was a blistering, blizzard-like, fine blowing snow, with 20-30 miles of wind swirling it all around. It was definitely a day to stay inside and stay warm.

So... How is your weather? From watching the news and Weather Channel, I'm seeing reports of cold weather and power outages in Texas (where I have many family members), intense thunderstorms, sadly, went through North Carolina, and lots of severe weather, including snow and ice, across the United States. Wherever you are, I pray you are safe and warm, and being careful until conditions improve.

As I'm snowed in today and only essential travel is recommended, I thought I would create a list of 12 of my favorite snow related movies. It seems there are several circumstances in Christmas movies where people are often snowed-in and can't get out or home for the holidays. I thought I would mention my favorites here, along with a few from Winterfest, and please share yours in comments below! (It was hard for me to limit my list just to 12!)

12. One Winter Winter Weekend / One Winter Proposal



It's a fun skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobile riding weekend with Cara, Ben, Megan, and Sean - when the four are double-booked in the same lodge.

11. Northpole

The snow in this movie is absolutely incredible! You can tell it is the real deal. The drifts and snow piles on the side of the road are incredibly high. Even though it's not actually the North Pole, it sure looks like it! It's also extra sweet to watch as Elf Clementine (Bailee Madison) tries to help Kevin (Max Charles) restore everyone's Christmas spirit!

10. Debbie Macomber's Dashing Through The Snow



Ashley (Meghan Ory) is on her way home for Christmas and Dash (Andrew Walker) is on a secret mission. When these two share a ride together - it's quite the adventure!

9. Winter's Dream



Former professional skier Kat (Kristy Swanson) works with a young skiier and not only falls in love with coaching, but perhaps, the girl's father (Dean Cain), too! This movie is family friendly and fun. I love the scene near the end when the skiiers come down the hill at night holding lights - it is absolutely beautiful!

8. Winter in Vail



This chilly Winterfest movie is one that will truly warm your heart. Family friendly and delightful, you'll simply fall in love with Chelsea (played by Lacey Chabert) and Owen (played by Tyler Hynes) as they bring life to the town of Vail, Colorado with a new festival, which brings the community together and new visitors! Along the way, Chelsea must decide which path she most wants to take and which decision leads her ultimately home.

7. Snow Bride

Snow Bride is such a delightful rom-com with many twists and secrets! It's interesting to see what happens next when tabloid writer Greta Kaine is rescued in a snow storm by Ben Tannenhill (the son of a former, prominent Senator) and both try to hide their true identities!

6. Amazing Winter Romance



If you're looking for a Winterfest movie with real snow and a great wintery, chilly feel, with lots of fun action-packed activities and excitement, then this film is it! Perfect for all ages, "Amazing Winter Romance" includes sledding, a huge snow maze that is truly incredible and beautiful on screen, snowmobiling, snow plowing, and horse-back riding! Plus, there's an adorable little girl, a very cute dog, and a sweet romance! This movie is truly jam-packed with just about everything fun during the winter, minus the cold! My family thoroughly enjoyed every minute, mainly due to the joyful Jessy Schram ("Road to Christmas") and the delightful Marshall Williams ("When Hope Calls"), who are truly the perfect, ideal boy and girl next door. I found this movie to be "snow" much fun to watch and very sweet!

5. When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing



When Elizabeth, Abigail, and Rosemary go on a trip out of Hope Valley at Christmas, Elizabeth unexpectedly goes into labor as the three run into a blizzard of snow. Their car runs off the road - and somehow they are able to walk through the snow storm to an abandoned cabin, where Elizabeth gives birth to her baby boy, Jack. It's a beautiful scene as - Lee, Carson, and Bill (a sweet representation of the three wise men) set out to find them in the storm.

4. Winter Love Story



Portraying writers in "Winter Love Story," both Jen Lilley and Kevin McGarry make taking a road trip look like great fun - even in the middle of winter! Along the way, they both make snow angels, which is cute, and they take walks in the snow with his dog. Then, of course, they have to get warm by the fire and read a good book!

3. Snowed-Inn Christmas

I just adore this Lifetime Christmas movie with Betheny Joy Lenz & Andrew Walker! When Jenna and Kevin (writers who are competing for the same job) get snowed in together at a inn in Santa Claus, Indiana - it's a magical turn of events when these two rivals start to fall for one another, as they attempt to write their Christmas story and save the inn from closing.

2. Winter Castle



With this Winterfest movie set in an actual Winter Ice Castle, (brrrr!!!) everything about this movie was magical, whimsical, enchanting, and cold! You almost expected to see Elsa, Anna, and Olaf there, as it very much looked like a scene right out of Disney’s princess animated fairytale, ‘Frozen.’ There's also an incredibly fun indoor slide, a sleigh ride and cross country skiing. You'll want to cozy up in your favorite blanket and enjoy this N-ICE Hallmark movie! It's perfect for family viewing!

1. Let it Snow

How could I not end the list with Candace Cameron Bure and Jesse Hutch in "Let it Snow," which includes sledding, skiing, a snowball fight, and ice fishing! Will Candace's character, Stephanie, and her father end up buying Snow Valley and change everything about it, or will they both come to love the charm of the place and keep it just the way it is? Even though it's the middle of winter, there's something so warm and inviting about this special lodge where visitors (like family) return year after year to share the holidays together. There's even a beautiful snowfall just before the credits roll.
