A very special thank you to all of you who visit here who have served in the United States Military and to those of you, who have had a loved one serve. I know that is an incredible sacrifice and love of country, as well.
My Daddy is a Veteran and I'm so proud of his service, along with my Grandfather, Several Uncles, and Cousins. Please share in comments below if you have loved ones who have been in any branch of the military. We are incredibly grateful for their service.

Leading up to September 11th each year now, September 8th–10th is honored as "National Days of Prayer and Remembrance." On this September 11th, known as Patriot Day, we remember the lives lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America. I hope and pray our country will never forget watching the World Trade Center Towers fall on that day, 19 years ago, as well as the attack on the Pentagon and crash in Pennsylvania.

The Independence Day event in Washington, D.C. will include military flyovers, a salute from President Trump, and a “monumental” fireworks display.
“President Trump’s 2020 Salute to America will be a patriotic tribute to our men and women in uniform, and the Department of Defense will be providing a one-of-a-kind air show,” said Interior Secretary David Bernhardt.
Schedule of Events via U.S. Department of Interior:
*Military flyovers above the National Mall and across the District: ~6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
*Monumental fireworks display from the National Mall, viewable from the District and Northern Virginia: 9:07 p.m. – 9:44 p.m.

Capital Concerts has announced the 40th anniversary presentation of A Capitol Fourth, the national July 4th TV tradition on PBS. The nation’s 244th birthday celebration will feature new performances from iconic locations across the country. The 40th anniversary edition of A Capitol Fourth, hosted by John Stamos and Vanessa Williams, will feature performances by: Patti LaBelle; John Fogerty; Renée Fleming; The Temptations; Trace Adkins; Andy Grammer; Yolanda Adams; Brantley Gilbert; Lauren Alaina; Brian Stokes Mitchell; Kelli O’Hara; Mandy Gonzalez; and members of the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly. I love the joy and comfort these Christmas movies bring! This week, as I am watching Hallmark's three Christmas movies, I am going to absorb myself for 2 hours (at a time, each night) into the merriment of the season, and while doing so - I will be praying for that same kind of serenity and soothing tranquility to once again return to our country. I hope many of you in this "It's a Wonderful Movie" family will join me.
The first movie airing this week is the classic Hallmark Christmas movie, "All I Want for Christmas" and I think I can safely say - what we want for Christmas and everyday is peace, and a return back to normalcy. That's all we want. Am I right?
I hope things will be calming down this week and we can all relax and enjoy these Hallmark holiday movies...

My Christmas Movie Pick of the Week:
I'm planning to enjoy all three!
"All I Want for Christmas" is one of the first, really special classic Hallmark Christmas movies from 2009! I've enjoyed watching this movie over and over through the years. Gail O'Grady is wonderful in this role as the Mother who finds herself unexpectedly looking for love during the holiday season after her adorable son wins a contest and sets her up on numerous dates.
Then, on Thursday night there's the patriotic movie, "Holiday for Heroes" starring Marc Blucas and Melissa Claire Egan, which honors our courageous military. This movie means so much, especially right now, as each day we appreciate even fuller the hard work of all of our heroes - who each day and night, defend all of our freedoms and our way of life.
On Friday night, it's a fun trip, as Jessy Schram and Chad Michael Murray fall in love in the "Road to Christmas." Sometimes, it's nice to watch a lighthearted movie that makes us feel good inside. I'm particularly fond of these two actors, so I'm also looking forward to seeing Jessy's new Hallmark movie this weekend, "Country at Heart."

I love that "Holiday for Heroes" celebrates and honors those who serve our country! I am so grateful for our military, and this movie does a wonderful job of showing their service and sacrifice, plus the support they receive from their family and friends who love them back home.
In addition to "Holiday for Heroes," it's always fun to watch Candace Cameron Bure in her sweet holiday movie, "Christmas Under Wraps," which was a huge ratings hit when it premiered on the Hallmark Channel in 2014 and one many still love today!

I think both of these new films premiering this week on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries look very appealing. The pairing of Rachael Leigh Cook and Benjamin Ayres looks exceptionally great to me, in A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas. Plus, it's fun to see young actress Lina Renna will portray Benjamin's daughter. Fun fact: The little girl, Lina, also starred in Sweet Mountain Christmas, which is such a fun, new Lifetime Christmas movie! (I guess they left Linna on the mountain! haha! Not really!)
As for Holiday for Heroes, starring Melissa Claire Egan and Marc Blucas, I am always glad to see a movie that honors our military. Coming from a family who has served our country across various generations, I have a high regard for our veterans and those who currently serve. Since the basis for this story revolves around letter writing, it gives me a warming feeling, reminiscent of the classic Hallmark movie, The Christmas Card.

Now... it's time to let the cat out of the bag - as it's the Hallmark Channel's turn for their Friday - Christmas Movie Night with...
Fireman Zachary Stone (Routh) is a confirmed bachelor who doesn’t believe in love or commitment. When a stray, tabby cat named Ambrose shows up at his door, Zachary takes him in and slowly starts to see that a little companionship might not be so bad after all. Zachary’s commitment to solitude is further challenged when he meets Marilee (Sustad), an animal lover and veterinary student who teaches Zachary how to care for his new feline roommate. Chemistry immediately develops between the two, but Marilee has vowed not to date until she graduates and Zachary is not ready to jeopardize his independence, though he senses Marilee is special.
With Christmas rapidly approaching, Marilee’s sister Jaclyn (Bennett) convinces her to add romance to her nose-to-the-grindstone life of work and school, while fire chief Sam (Harrison) encourages Zachary to understand the importance of love, marriage and having someone special with whom to share the holidays. When Zachary’s model girlfriend Blair (Hobbs) pressures him to get rid of Ambrose and has Marilee fired from her job at a pet supply store that her father owns, Zachary sees the light, realizing he is in love with Marilee and that life is better if shared with someone special.
"The Nine Lives of Christmas" is THE MOST PURR-fect Hallmark Christmas movie to enjoy any time of the year! There is something so sweet and special about watching these two characters, Zachary and Marilee, discover love - when it's least expected!
