Leading up to September 11th each year now, September 8th–10th is honored as "National Days of Prayer and Remembrance."
On this September 11th, known as Patriot Day, we remember the lives lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America. I hope and pray our country will never forget watching the World Trade Center Towers fall on that day, 19 years ago, as well as the attack on the Pentagon and crash in Pennsylvania.

Story-line via Hallmark: Audrey and First Sergeant Matt have been writing each other since last Christmas, when her brother Devin shared some fresh roasted coffee from the care package she’d sent. When Matt unexpectedly shows up in her small-town coffee shop, Audrey is delighted to see him. Soon, Matt helps Audrey with the annual Holiday for Heroes event, which honors local service members. As they work to save this important event from being cancelled, will the spirit of the season bring Matt and Audrey’s love beyond their letters?
Story-line via Hallmark: Elizabeth prepares for Little Jack’s first Christmas and birthday, missing Jack more than ever. Nathan receives a prestigious job offer in Union City but weighs the downside of leaving Elizabeth and taking his niece away from Hope Valley. Lucas holds a Christmas festival to bring some of his family’s traditions to Hope Valley…and to impress Elizabeth. A detour on his way to see Faith leads Carson to a stranger in need of his help. Meanwhile, Rosemary and Lee search for the perfect gift for Little Jack, while Bill turns Hope Valley upside looking for a special gift that he misplaced.
September 11th is one of those days now, when most people just want to be close to home, where we feel safe... so it's the ideal time to watch "When Calls the Heart: Home for Christmas" and return to the warmth and familiarity of Hope Valley."
I loved this When Calls the Heart! It made me want to have an old fashioned Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAwe, that's a beautiful idea, Diane!
DeleteI will start by saying I am not a loyal viewer of hallmark at this time, I really only have it on in the AM when Matlock is on. I can't remember the last time I watched the actual Hallmark channel as Matlock is on HMM. There are many reasons why I don't watch it much anymore, and the Holiday for Heroes being played for seriously like the 5th time this year for the Christmas Thursdays is one reason why. I get it, its Patriot Day tomorrow, but there are many more Patriot themed movies I just don't understand why not give those a try for Christmas Thursday instead of the same movies over and over. If they don't play the older movies on Hallmark Drama this season, I will likely not even watch Hallmark. Not at all. They played a Merry Christmas Match in August for like the 3rd or 4th time, and are playing it again this month. Is there really no other movie you can play? Just don't even do Christmas Thursdays and Fridays anymore if you cant add some variety. I thought they were playing Christmas Club this Friday? I guess that got changed for WCTH. I feel like Hallmark is trying way to hard with the WCTH and the SSD marathon when they still played a movie of gay characters kissing and getting married where actors were all out being very rude to people who did not agree with their movie. I guess it is going to take me a while to move on from that and I am not fooled by their SSD marathon.
ReplyDeleteThey literally have 100's of movies, there is no reason any movie should be played twice a year on Christmas Thursdays and Fridays.
Sabrina, I totally understand where you're coming from. I wasn't surprised about "Holiday for Heroes" getting a replay due to Patriot's Day, but I couldn't believe they were playing "A Merry Christmas Match" again so soon. There was really no reason for that at all.
DeleteI do wonder where their ratings are now, since many viewers have lost confidence in watching their channel. I know I personally don't turn there like I used to. It feels so different now.
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I always enjoy sharing Christmas! :)
DeleteWill there be any military Hallmark Christmas movies on Wednesday November 11?
ReplyDeleteChris, I don't imagine they'll premiere any movies on a Wednesday night. Last year they attempted to premiere the new Christmas Movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Thursday and Friday, but that didn't work out and they ended up premiering them on Saturday and Sunday nights again.
DeleteMaybe Hallmark could premiere their patriotic movie the weekend before that, and encore it on Wednesday, November 11th.
The thing is I am not sure the night for Miracles of Christmas was the problem, I think it was the movies themselves, they just don't get the ratings they used to, and it doesn't matter what day they put them on. I liked being able to space out the movies and not having to worry about if Hallmark would change the schedule simply because 2 actors of WCTH were on 2 different movies on at the same time. I suspect the ratings will be even lower than last year. that being said, there are some movies being filmed now that if they are for Hallmark, I would be interested. Especially with some of the actors/actresses in them.
