Chesapeake Shores Season 6 News...

If you've been wondering when Chesapeake Shores will arrive with new episodes on the Hallmark Channel, then your wait is over. Hallmark has announced across their multiple social platforms that Chesapeake Shores will return with 10 episodes in Season 6 on Sunday, August 14th, at 8/7c!.

This year, I'm not seeing the disappointed fan responses, like last year, on Jesse Metcalfe's departure. Instead, many are happy about the new season news, but sad this is their last and final season. Some are even asking for follow-up movies with the O'Brien family.

I have personally watched all of the previous seasons of CS up to this point, but I haven't decided, yet, if I will watch this new one. As a fan of the series from the beginning, I must admit, I still feel burned by the Trace Riley and Abby O'Brien break-up. It could've been such a beautiful love story. I look at the new poster and feel like Jesse Metcalfe should be the one standing there next to Meghan Ory and not Robert Buckley (who plays Evan Kincaid, the tech mogul and self-made millionaire). I guess this means the teacher, played by Greyston Holt, doesn't have a chance, based on the new key art. Plus, I was surprised the grandmother, Nell O'Brien, played by Diane Ladd, wasn't featured in the new poster.

I'm also wondering what plans they have in store for this new season. Will there be any woke storylines sprinkled in here and there? I must say, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, especially since many of the actors involved in this series are pushing for it.

On a positive note, the one thing I especially love seeing is all of the multi-generational O'Brien family back together again. There is just something about the closeness and tight bonds of these O'Brien brothers and sisters, along with their parents and grandmother, that draws me in to these characters and their gorgeous beach home in Chesapeake Shores.

"Chesapeake Shores" follows 4 generations in the O'Brien family, led by Nell O'Brien (Diane Ladd), Mick (Treat Williams), and Megan (Barbara Niven). Also, returning this season are: Meghan Ory, Emilie Ullerup, Brendan Penny, Andrew Francis, Laci J. Malley, and Robert Buckley.

I'm personally curious to see... the health condition of Connor (Andrew Francis) in the new season, along with future family plans for Kevin (Brendan Penny) and Sarah (Jessica Sipos). Not sure what other directions the series may go this season??? Will Megan and Mick split up for good or will they finally reunite after many years apart? So many questions will hopefully be answered in this final season. Is there any possibility that Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) will return? I'm not sure. Most likely no. But, I'm still hoping! Will "Chesapeake Shores" remain mostly family friendly- for all ages? I sure hope so! (Although, please note: there are some brief, adult situations and dialogue I would personally caution for young viewers in previous seasons.)

Bubba Thompson is a rancher and skilled carpenter. He and wife, Kaley have a fun-loving relationship, often laced with good-humored “bets.” They have a daughter, Andie.

Retired pro-rodeo, calf-roping champ, Cody Harris produces popular rodeos. As he works at life on the other side of the arena fence, he is supported by his wife, Misty. They are devoted to each other, often sharing poignant moments and coming together to make those big life decisions. They have a young son, Carter.

Chris “Booger” Brown is an expert cattleman and a renowned horse and dog trainer. When it comes to joking around, he can give as good as he gets, but should a friend or neighbor need his help, the jokes take a back seat, and he’s ready to help in an instant. He is married to Jaclyn, a pharmacist, and is dad—and cowboy mentor—to young son, Matthew.

First, up... I'm always thrilled to see a new Jen Lilley Hallmark film, and I'm even more excited to see this first ever Countdown to Summer movie on Hallmark! Our weather hasn't been all that warm, yet, here in the Midwest... and with several days in a row of rain, I'm praying for a little sunshine soon! Can't wait to relax and watch "Paris, Wine & Romance..." I'm hoping this movie will give me all the feels of Summer!

Furthermore, in all seriousness... I want to recognize how special and meaningful the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is to many of us, and I know we'll all be looking to see if we can see any hint of it in the background of outdoor scenes in "Paris, Wine & Romance" - just before it's tragic burning. Hallmark truly is a significant part of each season, holiday, and our history.

On Sunday night, at 9pm EST. - I will be joining all of you devoted Hearties in watching the continuation of "When Calls the Heart" Season 6! This show has certainly had it's drama through the years, but faithful viewers have remained with the show. I know many of us are trying to stay positive and look forward to the rest of this season with eagerness and great anticipation. I'm personally excited to see what happens next, especially when the new Mountie, portrayed by Kevin McGarry ("Winter Castle," "Winter Love Story") joins the cast! (Also, one last reminder: Set your Recorders/DVRs for Monday night, too, at an earlier time - 8pm/7c. for another episode of WCTH!)

Kellie Martin is back on the case Sunday night - to start the month of May with the first of three all new Hailey Dean Mysteries! I always enjoy trying to sleuth and guess who-dun-it before it's revealed!
