🎄 'Twas the Last Full Weekend Before Christmas!!! 🌟 See Christmas Movies and More... Details Here:

Happy weekend before Christmas, my friends! I'm holding on tight now to all of these precious last days 'til Christmas. It's a cloudy day with small snowflakes gently falling here in the Midwest, so I'm writing up this post by the warm light of our Christmas tree. A few packages wait below the tree to be unwrapped on Christmas day (as I still have more to wrap!), and space is always left for Santa in front of our fireplace, where the stockings are hung, of course, with care.

While there are still more new Christmas movies to come next week, this weekend is the last significant drop of new ones. A couple days ago, I tried to erase a few I've watched on my DVR and make room for more. Some are easier to delete than others, but I made a little room, and I'm trying really hard not to think too much about the new movies coming soon in the new year. I try to keep my focus on Christmas as long as possible and think of those movies as far off into the distance, so to speak. But alas, the new year and January movies are only a couple of weeks away. Even still, I'm keeping my heart and mind in the present on Christmas day!

I think the reason why the movie "Five More Minutes" has resonated with and touched many viewers is because many of us wish we could have that 5 more minutes with a loved one who has passed - to perhaps, ask unanswered questions or simply hold one another in perfect silence. That portion of the movie is truly heartwarming; it always touches me deep down inside.

If you have 5 or more minutes tonight, I hope you can watch an encore presentation of "Five More Minutes" on the Hallmark Channel. The movie originated on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, so for those viewers who only have the original Hallmark Channel, this may be their first time seeing it. 🎄"Now this is very interesting. Nikki DeLoach is a class actress who rarely turns in a sub-par performance and I was delighted to see the return of David Haydn-Jones. I have mixed feelings about Five More Minutes - in many ways, yes, this is a rich and warmly emotional movie but for me it is NOT family-friendly (although only CH Mom has made a reference to my point) but it also demonstrates how much Hallmark has moved from its traditional values. Many times we have seen one of the lead characters in a committed relationship when they meet up. Sometimes they unintentionally get caught up in a " moment" but the red line is never crossed. However despite the fact that Logan knows Clara is in a long-term relationship he makes a determined move on her. So, "is all fair in love and war"? I personally found this rather upsetting and it left me with rather a bad taste in my mouth. I would seem to be the odd one out though" - Florence

In "A Kiss Before Christmas," real estate development executive Ethan Holt (Denton) is a married father with two teens. On Christmas Eve, he is disappointed to learn he’s losing out on a promotion and laments that his “nice guy” way of doing business has held him back in his career. Thanks to some Christmas magic, Ethan’s casual wish that his life had taken a different course becomes reality. 🎄11 All New CHRISTMAS MOVIES This Weekend and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving too!

Happy Weekend before Thanksgiving! I know many of us are already in full preparation for the big day, as some may be hosting or traveling to be with loved ones. The ladies in my family have been making lists and discussing what we will serve this year, and a few requests have already come in, as well. It's always nice to make the traditional dishes everyone loves, but more importantly, this is a special time to prepare our hearts for this busy season and meaningful holiday celebration. My faith teaches me that this is a season to give and serve others and be thankful for all of our blessings.

Due to higher costs this year, I know it's going to be even harder for those less fortunate to have the same sort of meal or travel. If you can give back, please look for a charity organization or shelter in your area to donate to. It always blesses me to do this.

This Sunday night, be sure to gather everyone for "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," as it airs on TV, and if you have the DVD, be sure to watch The Mayflower Voyagers, too, which tells the true story of the first Thanksgiving. It's sad this part is no longer aired on TV - since it is such an important history lesson about the Pilgrims and the hardships they endured as they made their voyage to America.
