Okay, so I asked above if you have ever been to Niagara Falls or seen a waterfall in person? Please give your response in the comments below.

As for myself... I have not seen Niagara Falls in person, yet, but while on a trip with my family once, we happened to see a sign that was for a large waterfall. Well, we had some extra time, and the waterfall was in a small town, so we followed the signs, and there it was! I remember that exhilarating feeling of awe as we walked over to see it closer up. It was one of those solemn moments when everyone is quiet and just takes it all in. Words can hardly express. The waterfall was gorgeous, breathtaking, and magnificent... another masterpiece by God! I remember seeing all the various vivid colors of white and blue mixed together and the loud slushing sound of rushing water falling over the rocky ledge. It was truly an incredible sight to behold, peaceful and soothing. I don't recall the specific name of the waterfall, but its beauty and that special moment shared with my family will remain with me for a lifetime.

Whatever you watch or do, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned.

If you'd like to share a review of the new Hallmark movie or any of these series, please share in the comments below.

Blessings to you all!

☀️ SHINING HIS LIGHT: ☀️

"Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me."

~Psalm 42:7

What does Psalm 42:7 mean? via bibleref.com:

The phrase "deep calls to deep" can reflect a few possible meanings. One is that the deep waves and waterfalls are being followed by other, equally deep waves. This would imply a constant barrage: an unending chain of these overwhelming feelings and experiences. Another interpretation is that the depths of the psalmist's desire for God (Psalm 42:1) call out for an intense response from the Lord. Either connects to similar phrasing used in the book of Jonah, when Jonah recalls his experience being swallowed by a sea creature (Jonah 2:3).

When trials sweep over a believer, he can take courage, knowing that the Lord has a purpose in allowing those trials. Trials have the capacity to draw believers closer to the Lord if they see them as serving the Lord's purpose. In Romans 5:3–5, Paul explains that "we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." In love, God allows trials to inflict believers, not to make them bitter, but to make them better.

  1. I’ve never seen a waterfall, but enjoyed reading about your experience Net. Out of curiosity, I just googled to see if there are any near me and two came up within an hours drive and there are 3 others further out. I’m going to plan a day trip with my husband & the kids to see it. Dawn

  2. I forgot to mention how excited I am for the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ marathon and new movies. I wish they would play the Christmas movie too, but even if they don’t, I have the dvd. Dawn

  3. I predict more people will watch Hallmark Mystery over the Hallmark Channel, but maybe that’s just me.

  4. Yes, yes, and no.
Yes, I'll watch WCTH, if I can catch it on overloaded Sunday nights. It doesn't repeat like Hallmark movies and I'm not going to pay extra for a separate streaming subscription.
Yes, I've been to Niagara Falls, on my 1971 honeymoon, on the way to Novia Scotia. And I'll watch Falling in Love With Niagara. Its star, Jocelyn Hudon (Grace Bennett in When Hope Calls), appears to be getting more adventurous in her movie roles lately, e.g., Romance with a Twist.
No, I don't get the Cowboy Way Channel, and although I'm a top fan of SSD, I've seen them all so far and I have more TV to watch than I can absorb, so I can't squeeze in a second watching of something I've already seen.

    1. TVSenior... Thank you for sharing the shows you plan to watch this weekend.

That is wonderful you were able to see Niagara Falls on your honeymoon... sounds so romantic!

Also, you mentioned you don't have the Cowboy Way Channel, but if you like, you can watch this channel free through Xumo Play: https://play.xumo.com/live-guide/cowboy-way

But I know the weekend gets busy, so it's hard to catch everything. I just wanted to mention this, just in case you were interested. I really enjoyed the second episode with Bruce Boxleitner.

Have a blessed, wonderful weekend! Net

  6. Last year I visited Niagara Falls from the Canadian side for the first time. Absolutely breathtaking! It was pouring rain so not only did I get soaked from the Falls but also from the rain...and it was not the warmest of days. I'm thankful I didn't catch pneumonia!

Next week I will be doing a road trip south to Asheville and will be visiting the Biltmore House. I need to re-watch A Biltmore Christmas so that when I see the rooms, I will remember "Oh yeah, this is where such and such took place"! From there it is off to Dollywood and then The Great Smokey Mountains, where I plan to do some hiking and see at least a couple of waterfalls. I love getting out of the city and into the country! Seeing mountains, forests, waterfalls, etc. - that is when I truly experience God and his wonderful creations! Can't wait!

    1. Mark - How wonderful!!! Your trip sounds A-MAY-ZING!!!! That will be sooo cool watching "A Biltmore Christmas" again, then seeing the Biltmore in person! And all the other places, too! You'll have to re-watch "Christmas in Dollywood" again, as well!

Soak it all up for us... I can't wait to hear all about it whenever you have the opportunity to share! I'm so happy for you! :)

      Have a wonderful, safe journey!

    2. Mark, if you are in that area.. Try Cade's Cove. It's in the Smokies. One of my favorite places!

    3. Try Abram's Falls too! I miss my Tennessee!!! Have fun!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    4. Thank you, Net! Yes, I will let you know how the trip goes. In answer to your question that you posed to Jim, yes, they still do have ferries take you up close to the Falls. For me, that is a must if you visit - you get drenched (the rain ponchos they give you don't help at all!) but it is so cool to experience the Falls that close!

I just realized that I am going to be missing our April "Mark the 25th"! Bummer! Oh well, Net, maybe you can watch an additional Christmas movie for me! :)

    5. Abigail, yes, I will be in Cade's Cove. I understand that is where one of the most beautiful waterfalls (I forget its name) in the Smokies is located.

    6. I think you mean Abram's Falls. It is beautiful, and you have to hike to see it. But beware or the orange dirt in TN. It's famous for staining!

Sorry to nag you with all these places, but the Apple Barn is a fun location as well. They sell homemade taffy. And if you go to the Apple Barn Restaurant, try the apple fritters. Soooo good....ok, I 'm done. Hahaha ;)

    7. I've been to Niagara but it was many years ago. Fun experience!
I LOVE the area of NC/TN that you're going to, Mark! I've actually considered moving there. Lots of great waterfalls and hiking south of Asheville in NC and also in TN (and GA). It sounds like you're going to have a great trip!!

    8. Thank you Net, Abigail and Jane for your wonderful comments and suggestions! I have returned and am back in the saddle...well, actually, back on my office chair. Anyway, it was a great trip. Asheville, Dollywood, and Cade's Cove...all fantastic! Interesting thing about the Biltmore, though - they obviously took some liberties and did some rearranging of furniture to accommodate the filming there. (For example, the table with the hourglass...nowhere to be found!) And what was very surprising - there is absolutely no evidence of A Biltmore Christmas anywhere! No mention of it by any tour guide, no references to it on a sign or in a book (even a 2023 Christmas book), no pictures of the movie anywhere, etc. Still, it was neat to see the rooms where they did the filming!

Now I need to catch up on all of the messages and reviews I've missed!

    10. Mark 25, Welcome home! We are so glad to have you back!

What an amazing trip you had! Those are all such beautiful places, surrounded by incredible, lovely countryside.

And, WOW, are you kidding me???? No mention of "A Biltmore Christmas" at THE BILTMORE??? That is a HUGE, GIGANTIC miss, if you ask me. In my mind, there should be an hourglass there for visitors to pick up and turn-over and take pictures with (it should be shatterproof glass, of course). Oh my! Maybe they will include something at Christmastime or sell the DVD in the gift shop.

Even still, I know you loved being in the very place where Bethany and Kristoffer made their movie... it must have felt like a step into all of the amazing movie magic!

Thank you for sharing with us!!!
Have a blessed weekend, my friend, Net

  7. I have been to Niagara Falls twice, but I've been to several other falls, that aren't as huge but still beautiful. A few on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Rickets Glen State Park in Pennsylvania has several, and I saw one in Montana that was beautiful.

I'm not sure if I should mention this in this post but you had mentioned about some of the new series being on and if anyone watched them...several mentioned some but one I haven't seen mentioned is Elkhorn. I saw the first episode and loved it. That is on INSP. I hope to view episode two soon and then it will be time for the 3rd one. It is on Sunday evenings at 9PM

  8. Hi Net, I have never seen a waterfall, I am not an outdoorsy person at all, but both our children are so maybe when they are older we can see one. I will be recording the new hallmark movie this weekend. I love how you touched on trials Net, and I 100% agree with you. There is always a plan behind everything God does & as long as we allow him to lead us and follow by faith, he will work it all out for our good. And amen we need to praise him in those trials too, on the mountain and in the valley we still need to give him praise. Have a blessed weekend everyone 😊

    1. Paula, Thank you for mentioning how the scripture above touched you. I wholeheartedly agree... that we should praise God when things are easy and light and when are burdens are heavy. He is always there - promising His peace, which passes all understanding.

Your comment about the mountain and the valley reminded me of a lovely song, God on the Mountain. (You may know it, but just in case, here's a clip of Jason Crabb singing it on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj1qL9FeF6Y

  9. Falling in Love in Niagara - I wanted to like this one but couldn't. Acting was very cringy, at least in the first 20 minutes I've seen. And the fact that it immediately reminded me of another 3 similiar Hallmark movies didn't help either. Dan is one of my favorite Hallmark actors and i was looking forward to this movie but sadly, i didn't like it.

  10. I haven't been to Niagara, but I have seen Linville Falls in NC, and I saw the most beautiful falls, multiple falls, on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

  11. Jim, How cool - you were able to be so close to the Falls! That sounds amazing! I wonder if they still allow such things??? It sounds rather dangerous, especially with people doing such crazy things today for social media. I'm so glad you shared your experience with us.

And... that's so nice you were able to visit "The Christmas Cafe" again with your Mom this time. The expansions sound awesome; I bet everyone feels like a kid there visiting the North Pole! :)

  12. You'll have to visit Niagara Falls one day Net! It's one of my absolute favorite places! I have family that lives in Toronto, so I've been there many times. I hope they include the boat ride(The Maid of the Mist)in the movie. I loved that as a child, but wear a poncho!!!

When I lived in Maryville, Tennessee(right next to Knoxville),I saw the most beautiful waterfalls in the Smokies. It was about a twenty minute drive from my house, into the mountains. This makes me miss TN! I've lived in 4 states and TN was my favorite! Great church, friendly people and beautiful scenes! And Rock City was not a bad drive away either!

  13. Aww Jim, that boat ride was great (the Maid of the Mist). My family also explored the canals behind the falls. Did you go to the Canada side? That's where we did.

  14. I had the opportunity to take a helicopter ride over Niagara as a teenager… quite the exhilarating experience! I have an intense fear of heights but for some reason it doesn’t affect me if I’m in a plane or helicopter. Looking down at the falls, you could see sunlight catching in the mist and forming rainbows. Beautiful!

On an unrelated note, I’ve been watching Blue Ridge on the Cowboy Way channel on FrndlyTV, and while I’m loving it, I really wish it had captions so that my mom, who has a hearing impairment, could watch it too. I’ve been trying to find it on some other streaming platform, but no luck. Anyone know if it’s available elsewhere?

    1. RC, Your helicopter ride over the Falls sounds amazing, especially considering how you feel about heights. I can only imagine how beautiful that sight was from above. Thank you for sharing your awesome experience with us.

Also, I was able to find "Blue Ridge: The Series" on Xumo Play and Plex with Closed Captioning.

If you have Roku, just use the search feature on the left and be sure to type in "Blue Ridge: The Series" and it will give you the options of where to watch. I chose Plex (which is Free!) and after it loaded and started to play, I had to choose to turn on subtitles by clicking the three dots in the bottom right side of the screen. Then, it worked for me. Not sure why I can't get the captions to work on the Cowboy Way channel, too.

As for Xumo Play, I was able to find the "Blue Ridge Series" on their website here:
      https://play.xumo.com/networks/cowboy-way/99951160/XM0IIIS2C3QCS0

Be sure to scroll down to where it says Blue Ridge: The Series - to choose the episode you want to watch. Just click CC to turn on the closed captioning.

I hope this is helpful for you and your mom! :)

  19. Net, it's a special way to escape into the wonder of Christmas during the year now. All that craziness going on outside those Cafe walls but inside the Christmas music is playing and the lights are blinking, and it really does make you feel like you have entered another reality, and the great part is you don't feel crazy for loving Christmas so much outside of the normal holiday season haha...others are doing the same in April and loving it too.

  23. I am a little late....busy weekend! Anyway Net, yes I have been to Niagara Falls in 2007. My Mom, brother, sister in law and I went on a trip spanning from Washington DC through New York and Maryland and went to the Falls. It was pretty exciting. We took a touring boat near the falls and then went over top of the falls and took the "Journey Behind the Falls" and trekked down to stand near the bottom on a rock! It was amazing. My brother and his wife actually stood under the falls there but I didn't - too much pounding water for me! Once in a lifetime experience!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I also forgot to mention I have seen many other waterfalls also. Have seen them in Hawaii and Alaska...it is always exciting especially when you see them from the ship in Alaska!
