In Case You Missed It: Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott recently had a sit-down interview with NewsNation host Adrienne Bankert during her 'One Nation Under God' segment. I personally enjoyed how their discussion delved into the strategy behind what Great American Family is creating for their viewers and what drives their mission in creating these films.
During the interview, Abbott expressed, "I think people are ready and looking for alternatives, because the dark (referring to the film entertainment industry) has gotten so dark..."
When asked what the best part of launching this network (Great American Family) was, Bill Abbott responded, "I think it is really leaning into faith overtly, and not just having it bolt on - not just having a cross on as a decorative piece on someone, or just a church, somebody going to church. I think it's an intentional celebration of faith, an intentional celebration of family, and of country..."

Great American Media CEO on faith, family, and working with Candace Cameron Bure after Hallmark:
I hope you enjoyed this interview. Perhaps it will encourage us all to be even more supportive of Great American Family as we anticipate more new content and movies to come. We can be reassured that they are working diligently behind the scenes to create wholesome and faith-filled content.
Great info Net, yes I agree, more supportive and more patient on movies & their scheduling.

I wish that this network would stop with the Christmas movie announcements already. And announce when the movies are coming back. This endless cycle of Columbo, Murder She Wrote and Perry Mason is ridiculous with no end in sight. My channel guide is updated to May 7 with the same lineup. I would be very surprised if we see movies in May or even in June.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - I'm mostly ignoring all the full blown news about Christmas movies for now.
ReplyDeleteBut there is something strange going on - right across the Board none of the companies seem to be producing any new movies.
In addition to GAF, Hallmark cut back in March and again next month, Reel One has only added one so far this year and there has been nothing from Nicely.
Candlelight have a couple in Post-Production but these appear to have been filmed last year.
It's all very odd - I wonder what is going on?
Although there around 20 or so ROE movies which could be picked up in the US. - Florence
Most likely post strike cutbacks, every company is going through them because there's not much work around these days. -Maria
DeleteFlorence, I too find it all a little odd too. So I decided to google Hollywood strike 2024. The IASTE and the teamsters have until July to reach an agreement or they will strike. So why are they all not making as many movies as they can now.
DeleteYes because last year with the threatened strike an enormous number of Christmas movies were filmed in the early months of 2023 - Florence
