Even though Labor Day weekend is usually considered the last hurrah of Summer, technically, Summer doesn't officially end this year until September 23rd. So... whether you're trying to soak up the rest of Summer as long as you can or you're ready to transition into Fall, September is the perfect time to do both!

For many years, the Hallmark Channel used to do their Summer Movie Countdown on Labor Day weekend, but now they start off the month immediately with their first *Fall Into Love* movie. Since Christmas movies begin at the end of next month, YES, NEXT MONTH, that leaves little, but just the right amount of time for Fall movies.

Are you ready for Fall-themed movies to start this weekend? And... the BIGGER QUESTION... are YOU READY for CHRISTMAS MOVIES to begin NEXT MONTH, near the end of OCTOBER??? Please share in comments below.

Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.

Take care, everyone, and Happy Labor Day weekend!

Blessings!

  3. I definitely am not understanding the Smoky Mountains movie. I live near the region and all the previews just look so unrealistic. Like they had a story line and just picked a random park to “put” it in. It just seems they didn’t really do their research. Maybe it will be better than my perceptions. I don’t know.

  6. I'm ready for fall, however even though I love Christmas Movies, I'm not quite ready for Christmas this soon. I'm looking forward to most of the movies this weekend but especially Learning To Love and the Great Smoky Mountain one.

  8. I’m ready for fall movies, but I really wish Christmas movies didn’t start until mid-November. I’ve always thought that, but if one network starts early then they all will. Quality is more important than quantity and there are just too many Christmas movies being made nowadays. I guess it makes it easier to pick and choose, though.

  9. From what I've heard, the latest National Park Romance movie was yet another preachy cess pool of how all white people steal everything from Natives that don't belong to them. (severe eyeroll). -Maria

  14. It would have been sweet to name the baby after Janette Oke, but I think even her would approve of the name they chose. Marigold Elizabeth Coulter. And Goldie for short! So beautiful!! I LOVE it!!! I was afraid they were going to name her something like Hope(which is lovely, but sometimes over done, especially in Hope Valley.

Also, Rosemary had a special friend who named her baby after her and now she did the same for Elizabeth.. Aww!😊❤❤

    1. Abigail, Oh yes... it was very sweet to see they named the baby after Rosemary's mother. I was anticipating that would be the case, and was curious to learn what her name was. Marigold is a very pretty name and has an old-fashioned feel to it. She is such a beautiful baby girl; it was such fun seeing everyone in town taking interest in her and the ladies gushing over her.

Looking forward to the return of Molly's daughter, Rosaleen, in the next episode. Her reaction to Henry should be most interesting.

    2. Oh yes!!! I wonder if it's the same.actress who played her as a girl?? I am happy we get to see Molly have her girl back!❤

    3. Abigail, She is the same actress portraying Rosaleen Sullivan, which makes it even better! Her real name is Mamie Laverock. She was also in Hallmark's movie, "Wedding Dreams," and she had a small role in the Lifetime Christmas movie, "Spotlight on Christmas." I'm curious to learn where she's been all these years.

Marigold is named after flowers & color

    Marie, Maggie, or Goldie are
    shortened for Marigold

Marybeth is shortened for Marigold Elizabeth

  16. Got Bill's latest email tonight. :)

He mentions Haven't Met Yet in good terms, and once again reminding everyone that the network can't completely control the content of every ad that airs during the breaks, only the cable provider can do that.

He also brought up the ongoing strikes between the writers and actors and if it will affect the upcoming line up. Good news is, it won't! And there's even a surprise coming, with more details to come later on.

There's also been plenty of good reaction to Learning to Love. :)

    1. Maria, I'm very curious about Bill's statement regarding the Christmas surprise.

For those of you who did not receive the email, this is what he wrote...

We are planning a surprise regarding our celebration of the season – some of you will like it, others I know won’t, but we hope everyone can understand our thinking and at least give us credit for being aggressive! More to come on that one at a later date!

I'm really puzzled by the thought that some of us will like it, but others will not. That bit of news is quite intriguing and has me guessing all sorts of things. Mostly, I'm just hoping it won't affect Christmas movies being aired 24/7.

It was fun to get your reaction to it, Maria!

  18. Hallmark’s “Love in the Great Smoky Mountains” is family-friendly and features breathtaking scenes of the mountains, waterfalls and trails. Having lived in East Tennessee for 30+ years, I really enjoyed recognizing many of the sites and locations I’ve visited with my family (this film was actually filmed in the GSMNP and Knoxville). Romance is rekindled between two archaeologists working on a dig at an ancient Cherokee village, and also trying to solve a myth about a lost crystal. I also enjoyed the budding relationship between the two Cherokees – one from the Eastern Tribe who lives in Tennessee, and the other a decendent of the relocated tribes in Oklahoma. The film is actually quite educational for those unfamiliar with the history of the Cherokee Nation or the Trail of Tears, which was accurately retold with reverence and respect. I thought Arielle Kebbel was outstanding in the leading role too.

  20. Does anyone here know anything about Luke MacFarlane's role in upcoming fall movie? I saw a photo on Hallmark site that has me worried and ,if true, breaks my heart. Thanks!

    1. Anonymous, I can answer your question. Luke's character in "Notes of Autumn" will pursue a relationship with a man. I have more details about the film in my September movie post -here.

Due to my own personal beliefs I will not be promoting this film.

    2. No surprise there, but still hurtful to see, since we've seen him previously in great movies. He used to be one of my top favorites. Always played a kind character.😭

But, now I'm conflicted. What should(right thing to do) I do with the former movies of his?? Like the Birthday Wish, Mariah's Lighthouse and the film he made with Candace Cameron Bure. I don't know whether I should throw them away or not. They now seem tainted to me. (But the other actors are innocent in this) If you have some advice, I would love to hear.

    3. Net, thank you so much for your reply. That is what I thought and I am so disappointed as I have always enjoyed Luke's movies in the past. Thank you also for this wonderful site and all the work you put into it for us!

    5. Abigail, I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same conflicted feelings when I watch various actors, who I know don't share my values. It's a tough one. Often times, it's hard to focus on the character they are portraying. It's a case by case basis, but I find myself not watching their movies nearly as much as I used to.
