These four classic films are new to INSP...

Network Movie Premieres:

Bite the Bullet, starring Gene Hackman, Candice Bergen, James Coburn, and Ben Johnson: In 1908, a Western newspaper sponsors a tough cross-country horse race, attracting a colorful crew of ambitious contestants willing to endure 700 miles of unforgiving desert and rugged terrain. Who has the grit and the horsepower to win?

Taggart, starring Dan Duryea and Tony Young: When a stampede, planned by a rancher, kills a settler's parents, he seeks justice. The settler wins in a fair gunfight, but now faces revenge from the dead rancher's father. With killers on his trail, the settler flees into hostile Apache territory.

The Second Time Around, starring Debbie Reynolds, Steve Forrest, Andy Griffith, and Thelma Ritter: In the early 1900s, a widow and her children head West. What they find is an untamed Arizona town, filled with rough characters. The widow quickly strives to clean things up, winning the praise of many and the affections of two very different men.

Vengeance Valley, starring Burt Lancaster and Joanne Dru: A Colorado rancher contends with his two sons, one biological and the other adopted, who are fighting over control of the massive family property. Which brother will come out on top in this family battle for cash and cattle?

I hope many of you will enjoy the Western films this March on INSP.

THE ROYAL WE

Premiere Date: Saturday, March 1, 2025

Starring: Mallory Jansen and Charlie Carrick

Storyline: When her older sister elopes with a non-royal, Princess Bea who has lived her life away from her royal duties must now step in and honor the arranged marriage to a small kingdom prince.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ‘‘ The Royal We is safe, and pretty cute. (though, that BFF is really annoying.). -Maria

πŸ‘‘ Forgot to include: There's a really neat surprise at the end of the movie! -Maria

πŸ‘‘ The Royal We Review: This was the best royal film I have seen in a long time, probably topping to #1. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it that much, but I did!! And I thought before, they were engaged in the beginning, but we do see them fall for each other before a wedding. There was a burst of chemistry with these two that really pulled you in and they were like friends, leaning towards something special and always kind to each other. How can you not fall in love with that prince! He’s so nice!! It was family friendly and for Parent Trap fans… this movie had Martin the Butler in it!! If I could describe it in one word…Charming!!

Just a couple scenes I would change. I was uncomfortable with Bea in her pajamas in the prince’s bedroom, also in his PJs, alone together. Nothing happened, they kept it innocent, no seductive feeling. But as a Christian, I would have liked it better if she didn’t enter and he came out dressed.

The same with the star gazing scene, she was fully dressed and he had his PJs and robe. I would have been totally fine with is. They were having a special moment and it was so sweet, but unfortunately we see the time turn into morning and they fell asleep snugly together. This was a big no no for me and I couldn’t help but think, if this was set back in time her reputation would be ruined and he would have to to the honorable thing and marry her. I wish our world hasn’t changed from that, but unfortunately we had.

Those were 2 very short scenes and the rest is so fantastic, I have to give it a great review. It is worth watching and they give you hints about the next 2 royal movies coming out. I believe they are all connected just like the Wedding Veil movies.

And I agree with Maria, the best friend really over played her role and was really cheesy. But she was nice. ~Abigail

πŸ‘‘ The Royal We – Charming film! The romance felt a bit rushed towards the end, but it was still enjoyable. At times, the royal dialogue was somewhat difficult to follow. I really liked the quirky friend; she brought so much fun to the story. All in all, it's a delightful and family-friendly movie. Net

πŸ‘‘ The Royal We - this one surprised me. It was sweet, cute, clean. At first I caught myself saying how unrealistic certain parts were, but honestly that's the nature of Royal-themed movies, and should be expected. With that in mind, I thought it was a fun one-time watch. ~LR

πŸ‘‘ Still trying to get caught upon everything. But, we did watch both "The Royal We" and "The Reluctant Royal". We liked both movies. They were both enjoyable. But, we thought "The Reluctant Royal" was the best of the two. Andrew and Emilie had off the charts chemistry. :-) Plus, the movie was both funny and heartfelt. It was nice to see the nasty Allister and his snobby mom get their comeuppance. They were not nice people. And, the scenery was spectacular. ~Joan

THE RELUCTANT ROYAL

Premiere Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025

Starring: Andrew Walker and Emilie de Ravin

Storyline: Philly mechanic Johnny is surprised to learn that his long-lost father is a duke. But the duke isn’t quite what he expected, nor are his growing feelings for the duke’s advisor Prudence.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ‘‘ Ah, The Reluctant Royal is so wonderful! -Maria

πŸ‘‘ The Reluctant Royal – This film had a little of everything... it's entertaining, enjoyable, and a bit corny, which is exactly why I adored it. I really liked Andrew Walker's character, Johnny, the down-to-earth mechanic who is skilled with his hands and has a heart of gold. Although I didn't feel a strong romantic connection between Johnny and Prudence, their romance was still very sweet.

What I most appreciated in the story was the touching moment when the father and son bonded while restoring an old car. It was a beautiful scene that genuinely brought tears to my eyes.

(Side note: It’s quite interesting that Johnny decided to create a juice company as a side project, given that Andrew Walker and his wife own one in real life.) ~Net

πŸ‘‘ Review: The Reluctant Royal As I have stated before I'm not a huge fan of royal movies, but this one is great! Story is a little different from most of these movies with some healing from the past and new family relations started. Of course there's the usual romance as well and lots of comedy in this one that Andrew pulls off excellently! I can't think of any other other actor who could have played this part so well! It's a keeper and one I will watch over again! And family friendly! ~Joyce in Carolina

πŸ‘‘ The Reluctant Royal was excellent! It was clean and didn't seem like it was the same old storyline that a lot of royal themed movies have. –Grace

πŸ‘‘ Still trying to get caught upon everything. ~Joan

πŸ‘‘ I neglected to mention it was also great to see a storyline, in "The Reluctant Royal", that was a departure from the same sometimes boring storyline we normally see. It is refreshing to see several other people here enjoyed this wonderful movie as much as we did. :-) I especially liked the ending! ~Joan

πŸ‘‘ This ("The Reluctant Royal”) was a great, sweet, and different royal movie. I loved The Royal We, too. Namegirl

πŸ‘‘ Watched Reluctant Royal and really liked it. One flaw I caught in the movie was Jonny asked where the Duke had been for the last 38 years, but he married Dottie in February of 1989. That obviously means he should be asking about the last 36 years. Just thought it was worth mentioning.~Anonymous

ROYAL-ISH

Premiere Date: Saturday, March 15, 2025

Starring: Nichole Sakura and William Moseley

Storyline: Lacey is an amusement park princess who befriends 8-year-old Rose, a real-life princess, and is recruited by her handsome father to travel to their kingdom and be the new governess.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ‘‘ Royalish – Charming, Adorable, and Delightful in every way! This movie is perfect for a girls' night in or a cozy family movie night. G-rated and super sweet! :) ~Net

πŸ‘‘ Royal-ish is safe and an adorable end to another wonderful trilogy! -Maria

πŸ‘‘ Royal-ish review…. Sweet and adorable is the way to describe this one. Family friendly and full of smiles. It was a little bit too cutesy for me, but I thought she played her part well for children. ~Abigail

πŸ‘‘ Royal-ish review.... I agree with Abigail - I know no surprise here :-) The movie was sweet and adorable but also too cutesy for me as well. The lead actress was enchanting and did a good job. But, it was definitely a one-time watch for me. ~Joan

πŸ‘‘ I watched Royal-ish last night (after the Illinois basketball game - yay, Illinois! Onto round 2!) because I was intrigued by the plot. I agree with Abigail and Joan - it was a cute movie - nothing spectacular - okay for a one-time watch. But I am not sure that Nichole Sakura was the ideal choice for the female lead. While she is very good when playing the park princess, she seems to lack the...what, finesse? class? aura?...of being a real-life match for the prince. During the movie I kept thinking that someone like Merritt Patterson or Aimee Teegarden would have been better suited for the role. ~Mark 25

HALLMARK MYSTERY:

Premiere is at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Mystery Island: Winner Takes All

Premiere Date: Thursday, March 13, 2025

Starring: Elizabeth Henstridge, Charlie Weber, Kristin Booth

Storyline: Mystery Island hosts contest winners vying to solve a fake murder for a grand prize, but the event goes awry when an employee is murdered, and secrets are uncovered.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ”Ž Mystery Island: Winner Takes All Review….

I thought it had a good plot, although I knew who the killer was gonna be in the very beginning, but I think the cast is VERY weak. The two main characters are kind to each other and friends and I always appreciate seeing that instead of them not sharing information, but being a team. It was also family friendly. ~Abigail

πŸ”Ž Okay I was finally able to watch Mystery Island. I will say the first one of this series was kind of confusing for me, and this one was the same. I think it is the whole “mystery within a mystery” concept of the film. I loved seeing Kristin Booth play a different character than her SSD one. I think this is the only thing I have seen her in besides SSD…. Anyway, I enjoyed it as a one time watch. ~Paula

πŸ”Ž Mystery Island: Winner Takes All - I love a good mystery, but I had a hard time getting into this one. I understood the characters and all, but I just didn't feel interested or connected to the main or supporting characters. I agree with Paula, it was great to see Kristin Booth of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," but she portrayed a fairly nasty character and her role was rather short. Overall, Mystery Island: Winner Takes All is a family-friendly sort of mystery, but a one time watch for me. ~Net

I hope you all discover a movie you will enjoy in March!

I know. I know. There are mixed feelings about royal-themed movies these days, but there have been some good ones throughout the years (even ones that aren't Christmas-related, such as Royal Matchmaker and Royal Hearts), so perhaps one of these will rank up there. I do think the one with Andrew Walker sounds interesting, so let's hope it's a fun one!

Happy movie watching, everyone!
