What a wonderful first season it has been for "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries," and tonight is the big season finale at 9pm/8c on UPtv!

We've enjoyed a delightful mix of suspenseful, yet lighthearted, family-friendly mysteries set in the charming Amish community of Sugarcreek, Ohio. (Thankfully, none involving murder!)

Throughout the season, we've come to know and love Cheryl (played by Galadriel Stineman), who has been managing her Aunt Mitzi's gift shop while her aunt is away serving on the mission field.

As Cheryl has settled into life in Sugarcreek, she's earned a reputation for helping others and solving mysteries alongside her friend, Naomi Miller (Denise Gossett), a local Amish woman.

Along the way, Cheryl has also developed a special connection with Naomi's son, Levi (Kevin Joy). Their growing friendship and attraction is challenging, though, since Levi is Amish and Cheryl is not.

One of the things I've especially appreciated about Cheryl is how important her Christian faith is to her. She attends church, seeks God's guidance, and genuinely desires to follow His plan for her life. But where is God leading her? Is Sugarcreek where she truly belongs?

That question may be answered in the season finale!

WHEN THERE'S A WILL - A missing deed, county corruption, and a race against time threaten Levi’s land and future.

FINALE THOUGHTS:

Can Cheryl help Levi and his family track down his uncle's missing will before the family land is sold to someone else?

No spoilers here, but I have to say this was such a fun and exciting mystery to unravel! The clues, twists, and race against time made for an engaging puzzle, while Cheryl's ongoing car troubles added some great humor and lighthearted moments along the way.

And then there's Cheryl and Levi. It's clear these two care deeply about each other, but what does the future hold for them?

The cast is already filming Season 2 on location in Sugarcreek, Ohio... so there are likely more mysteries... and hopefully, more Cheryl and Levi moments ahead, too!

'Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries' Series Premieres Tonight on UPtv

If you love cozy mysteries, then you'll want to check out the 'Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries' series premiere tonight, Thursday, April 23, at 9 PM ET on UPtv!

The series stars Galadriel Stineman as Cheryl Cooper, Denise Gossett as Naomi Miller, Kevin Joy as Levi Miller, Riley Beeson as Esther Miller, Lance Nichols as Chief Twitchell, Ryan O’Quinn as Seth Miller, and Candace Kirkpatrick as Aunt Mitzi.

Episode 1 - THE BUGGY BEFORE THE HORSE:

And, yes, you read that right... This episode takes place around the Thanksgiving holiday, and it looks like episodes 2 and 3 take place at Christmastime! So, that should be fun and festive to see Sugarcreek during the holiday season.

More Mysteries Ahead: Sugarcreek Returns as a Series

Galadriel Stineman, star of Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries, has shared some exciting news! The series is returning with eight brand-new episodes set to film this summer!

The original movie, Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries: Blessings in Disguise, premiered in April on UPtv and is now available to stream on UP Faith & Family.

In the series, Galadriel Stineman portrays Cheryl, a woman who ends up in the quaint town of Sugarcreek following a breakup—only to find herself pulled into a compelling mystery that leads her into the heart of the Amish community.

Two interesting facts about this series:

* "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries: Blessings in Disguise" was filmed on location in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and other areas of Holmes County, Ohio.

* Portraying Galadriel's Amish friend and potential love interest in the series is Actor Kevin Joy, who is also Galadriel's real-life husband. The couple have two sons, Atticus and Sawyer.

I hope you find a movie or two on UPtv this September that you will enjoy. I'm rather intrigued by all the movies above. It seems like I've seen the title Love, Bubbles & Crystal Cove for some time now, so I'm curious to check it out, even though the storyline sounds rather familiar.

Plus One at an Amish Wedding stars Galadriel Stineman, who you may recall from two previous Amish-themed movies: Hallmark's Follow Your Heart and UPtv's Runaway Romance. Galadriel's husband, Kevin Joy, starred alongside her in Follow Your Heart and also stars with her in Plus One at an Amish Wedding. The drama in these Amish movies is usually interesting between the Amish community and the "outsiders" who visit there.

I also think Love's Sweet Recipe looks potentially sweet, and I'm delighted that Finding Love in Big Sky, Montana takes place at a ranch and is based on a Christian romance novel, so I'll definitely be checking out these movies, as well.
