I'm always happy to see our military celebrated in TV movies, so I'm looking forward to seeing the Thunderbirds soaring high in Come Fly With Me. With September 11th remembered in solemn reverence at the beginning of this week, it seems fitting that the week should end with this film that honors the men and women who have given so much for our country's freedom.
One Perfect Match looks like it will be a charming romantic-comedy with such a terrific cast, headlined by Merritt Patterson and Joshua Sasse! From this movie on, I'm truly looking forward to the faith and family films Great American Family will be bringing us throughout the Autumn Season and of course, Christmas!
By the way, Friday marks 5 weeks 'til Christmas movies begin on Great American Family, on October 20th! Hallmark also begins their Christmas movies around the same time, and Saturday marks 100 days until Christmas Day!
So much excitement is coming our way!
Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies airing this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Come Fly with Me looks so amazing, just hope it's clean
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, One Perfect Match and WCTH are on my list for this weekend as well! :) -Maria
And it (CFWM) was! I just watched it on DVR. It wasn’t an unforgettable plot, but it was really uplifting and CLEAN, and that is my priority anymore w Hallmark! It was a little weird they had no priest/ minister/ etc at the end. Very secular to me, but I really hope they’ll make more family movies like this. It was a nice glimpse into the USAF.πΊπΈ
DeleteThe only one of these I'd watch is One Perfect Match.
ReplyDeleteThe pairing of Merritt Patterson and Joshua Sasse looks good on paper - I just hope the script lives up to it - Florence
I hope that the movies are clean. I am anticipating that the Come Fly with me is a good one.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be recoding/watching both movies this weekend. I hope I can believe the love story between the leads because it is so hard for me to see Niall Matter with anyone besides Aurora, does that happen to anyone else here? I feel like because I have seen him in so many Teagarden mysteries it’s hard to get that out of my head when I see him in another role.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your cozy fall images above Net, living through these photos as it is 96 here today.
Have a blessed weekend everyone!
~Paula
Paula, I seem to have that same feeling with Kristoffer Polaha. After seeing him with Jill Wagner, I just can't get into his movies with anyone else. Although, Bethany Joy Lenz may change my mind this Christmas - when they star in A Biltmore Christmas together.
DeleteAlso, glad you like the Fall images! We've had some dips in our temps, especially at night, so it's actually starting to feel a little more like Autumn creeping in here in the Midwest. Goodness, 96 is so hot - hope you all can keep cool!
Blessings on your weekend! Net
I'm looking forward to both Come Fly with Me and One Perfect Match. They both sounds fantastic and with great actors.
ReplyDeleteI just came back from watching the "real" Thunder Birds and it was incredible!!! A lot of us homeschool families went to the rehearsal show and it was like the real thing with out the crowd! But, now I'm badly sunburned.(Remember Joan, I told you I have a redhead mama, I even reapplied sunscreen 4 times.) ππ
ReplyDeleteDefinitely watching Come Fly With Me(with water and aloe...hahaha ;)
Abigail! I am so sorry to hear you got badly sunburned! :-( And, you even re-applied your sunscreen multiple times. You most definitely have fair skin. Oh my that is never fun and very painful! I had a couple of very bad sunburns, when I was younger. The worst time I ended up with sun poisoning. I honestly did not think my skin would ever heal on my shoulders. I am glad you enjoyed seeing the "real" Thunder Birds. Anyway, I hope your skin heals quickly. Hugs and prayers to you my friend!
DeleteAbigail, Oh honey, so sorry to hear about your sunburn. I usually tan fairly well, but once I got a bit too much that was terribly painful so I sympathize. I remember Aloe being my best friend, too! So soothing!
DeleteI hope you can relax this weekend and enjoy all of the movies and WCTH! :)
I'm sure "Come Fly With Me" will be even more exciting and thrilling for you after seeing the Thunderbirds perform in person!
Take care... Blessings to you! Net
Come Fly With Me was so great and heartfelt!! I especially loved the two sweet girls and how kind they were to e Iach other! Plus family-friendly! But one thing...it was really kind of the dad to let his daughter play make up on him, but if it was my house....NONE of our menfolk would even let us think about it. Thinking about that makes me laugh!
DeleteAww, thank you both for your sweet messag, and thank you for praying. I'm still in pain, but Advil helps. Joan, I know what you mean about lasting burns. I remember getting sunburnt when I was around 17, the color lasting from August to November. Tomorrow, I am going to wear a shirt for church that doesn't match my face, made that mistake today! lol ;)
Blessings to you too, my dear friends! I know we've never met, but you all feel like family to me. I love you all.
Abigail, :-) :-) :-)
DeleteGreat options
ReplyDeleteCome Fly with me: This is 100% the best HMM movie I've seen since The Blessing Bracelet!! It's absolutely amazing!! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, That is wonderful to hear "Come Fly with Me" is such a great movie! I so appreciate you being the first to review this.
DeleteBTW, I adore The Blessing Bracelet, too!
Blessings! Net
One Pefect Match was the best movie of not only the night but the weekend. The chemistry between Merritt and Joshua was off the charts. The story was the best Ansley Gordon has another hit. Loved song in the beginning and the at the end. GAC movies are getting better and better.
DeleteOne Perfect Match was fantastic! Loved this movie! Great premise, great acting and great chemistry! And a perfect ending!
ReplyDeleteJennifer R
One Perfect Match was so sweet! -Maria
ReplyDeleteI know everyone rightfully avoided Notes of Autumn, but I thought you should know that I heard from someone who did watch it that Kavan and Pascale cameoed in the movie. And I am just SMH really hard right now. -Maria
ReplyDeleteCome Fly With Me was such a great movie! I loved the flying images, the supporting characters (Lossen Chambers especially) and the love story between both leads was so cute to watch. I really felt for Emma and the trauma she went through with her husbands accident. All in all great movie!
ReplyDelete~Paula
Heavy hitting episode of WCTH tonight, but a very nice ending. -Maria
ReplyDeleteGAF's "One Perfect Match" is a family-friendly story about a professional matchmaker, Lucy, (Merritt Patterson) who falls for one of her clients, Finn (Joshua Sasse). Their mutual attraction is dampened by Lucy's policy of not dating one of her clients, and Finn's desire to support Lucy's efforts to find him his perfect match. The story drags a little, but Merritt Patterson's performance was outstanding as usual.
ReplyDeleteHello to all of my friends here! I haven't seen "Come Fly with Me" yet but based on the stellar reviews, it sounds like I will be in for a treat. :-) However, my husband and I did watch "One Perfect Match". Yes, it was a storyline that has been done many times before but there was something about that movie that was magic. Merritt and Joshua were utterly delightful! They has sweet believable chemistry. They both have such beautiful smiles and the camera loves them! Plus, every single supporting actor/actress added so much to the storyline. Everyone was likeable and I had a smile on my face the entire movie. And, to top it all off, there was some nice scenery. All in all, a winner in my book. Definite keeper! One of my favorites so far this year.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Abigail, I hope you are doing better!
Take care all!
Thank you Joan. Last night, I was able to sleep without pain. It's going down. I'm praising God!
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed One Perfect Match. I'll give it a try! And yes! I hope you'll be able to see Come Fly with Me. It was very sweet and uplifting!
Hi Abigail,
DeleteYou are welcome. I am so happy to hear you were able to sleep without pain. Praising God is good. :-) And, in response to your earlier comment, I love you too! You are my family as well. Someday we need to meet for coffee or lunch.
Take care.
One Perfect Match is the only movie I watched this weekend. I loved it! The chemistry between Merritt Patterson and Joshua Sasse was amazing. I don't recall seeing Joshua in another movie. It was a sweet story with no stress. It has all the good feels I enjoy. This movie will stay on my DVR.
ReplyDeleteReview: One Perfect Match -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Keeper? No
It wasn't hard to figure out exactly where this movie was going after the first meeting between the two leads. And the story was draaaaged out - it could easily have been told in half the time! I mean, how many times did Merritt's character wonder what to do or say something like, "I can't tell him - it's not ethical"?! And how many times did Joshua's character stumble over his words in trying to tell Merritt's character how he feels?! (And maybe it was just this role, but Joshua is not exactly the most dynamic actor.) I love Merritt, but this is one of her weaker movies. (I'm thinking (hoping) "Twas the Text Before Christmas" will be better.) So, way too predictable and too stretched-out for me to recommend it.
I LOVED One Perfect Match! Was it predictable and the plot has been done many times before, yes, but they did it better than most. Merritt and Joshua's chemistry was off the charts in my opinion and the entire cast rounded out well. I'm not a fan of matchmaking/online dating plots (the real world is not like that and it can be dangerous), so I came into the movie thinking this will probably not go over well with me, but sure enough, it was GOOD. I was smiling during most of the movie and it kept my attention throughout, which is a good thing. :-) ~ Debbie
ReplyDeleteI will be the odd ball here. I didn't care for Come Fly with Me. It is family friendly and the flying scenes were great. I didn't feel the chemistry between the leads and at times seamed very forced. The story itself was just off to me, but that's just my opinion. We all see things different.
ReplyDeleteI was very disturbed by this weeks WCTH. Too much going on between Elizabeth and Nathan. If they start that triangle up again I'm done! That would be totally ridiculous! Been there done that!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maria. The WCTH latest was heavy, but sooo good(concerning Henry). I believe is finally coming to terms of putting the past behind and forgiving himself. This episode had me in tears. So moving. Aww...the power of forgiveness!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved the choir!! Beautiful!!
Elizabeth gave me some concerns. Lately she's been going to Nathan about her troubles, you'd think she'd go to Lucas since he's her fiance. That would be the right thing to do. But she might be seeing Nathan as Jack again. Almost like she's grieving him a second time.
And I just loved hearing Rosemary sing to her baby!! And Lee joining in!
But now...who likes who??
Nathan and Faith?
Nathan and Mei?
Faith and Hickam?
Hickam and Mei?
It seems so jumbled!
Maria, Joyce, & Abigail...
DeleteOh my goodness... by the end of "When Calls The Heart" my eyes were completely teared up. That last moment with Henry and Rosaleen was so beautiful. It was incredible to see such a powerful story of forgiveness come full circle since the first season. Instead of the last shot focusing on Elizabeth, I think it would've been even more effective, if they had focused on the reaction of Molly and the other mine widows, but even still - that scene deeply touched my heart.
As for Elizabeth's love saga... I don't know what to think from one episode to the next. I thought Elizabeth had strongly made her choice in Lucas, but in big and little ways, they've shown how Lucas and Elizabeth have differing views, all while Elizabeth seems to confide in and trust Nathan more and more.
I agree, Joyce, it doesn't make sense to tease this love triangle concept again. Many of us have gotten passed that and moved on.
The whole relationship thing with Nathan and Faith was truly a flop, and I'm not sure why they even had to bother.
Abigail, I'm also wondering if Elizabeth is grieving Jack again through Nathan. It's all very complicated. I wish the writers wouldn't play with our emotions and tease us like this. Also, I, too, loved loved loved the choir scenes and Rosemary singing to her baby girl. That was so precious; she has such a lovely voice.
This might be, next to Goldie's birth, my favorite episode from this season. So far!
I so enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this episode! Can't wait for next week! :)
Blessings! Net
COME FLY WITH ME (review contain spoilers!)
ReplyDelete*clean & family friendly*
This was a sweet heartwarming movie. I didn’t know what to expect when I started watching. I thought it would be a standard Hallmark movie but it actually had more action than the usuals. The 2 girls’ friendship was sweet. Chemistry was pretty good. Heather Hemmens was totally cool as a pilot. I was so nervous for her when she was flying the heart for transplant back through a bad weather. I’m not sure how realistic this part of the storyline is (the fact that they let a thunderbird pilot to fly a heart for transplant through a bad weather), but it was super cool that she did that. The epilogue was sweet but a tad weird without an officiant in the wedding, and no explanation (only us making the assumption) how Emma gets to stay beyond the 2 years.
