A Country Romance
Original Air Date: October 2, 2022
Starring: Alix Angelis and Jonathan Bennett
Storyline: When Sarah Kress learns her family’s vineyard is up for sale, she leaves her busy urban life and visits her hometown to help with the sale and have her last harvest. With the help of handsome neighbor Gabe, huge challenge becomes fun as she and Gabe fall in love. But when the job is done, Sarah must decide whether to return to her fast-paced life or follow her heart.
Movie Review:
π "I see UP has definitely listed A Country Romance on their site for next Sunday. The reviews for it aren't that good but it's a typical Rom.Com with a familiar plot and although the pace is quite gentle I personally rather enjoyed it, my interest kept until the end. There were a couple of interesting side plots in it. The movie is family friendly but I read a post recently which said they hadn't realise Luke McFarlane was gay and they now wouldn't be watching any more of his movies. For anyone here who doesn't know Jonathan Bennett is openly gay so you can make your own mind up whether you would wish to watch this" - Florence
π "A Country Romance was very cozy." :) -Maria
Infamously in Love
Original Air Date: October 9, 2022
Starring: Jennifer Freeman and Adam Huss
Storyline: A frustratingly micromanaged popstar who dreams of the “ordinary” that life has to offer finds herself torn between her celebrity ex, the machinations of her controlling manager, and a developing romance with a down-to-earth record store owner. Will she gain more autonomy over her life – especially her love life – and start making decisions for herself, or will the celebrity machine be too powerful for her to ever feel even remotely normal?
Movie Review:
π "Infamously in Love was very nice!" -Maria
π "Maria, I watched the first 15 minutes and wasn't sure about it with the whole purple hair and concert stuff. Did it get better after that, cause the intro was kinda rough? Plus, asking that random guy to kiss her to make her ex mad or something was a bit off to me. I'm sure it got better from there, but my, that beginning." ~Net
π "It got better from there." -Maria
Love in Wolf Creek
Original Air Date: October 16, 2022
Starring: Tim Rozon and Nola Martin
Storyline: Sam sets out to save a pack of wild wolves and a conservation refuge with the help of the town's handsome newcomer.
Movie Review:
π "Love in Wolf Creek is a little intense, but still so good!" –Maria
More Details: Love in Wolf Creek is the prequel movie to Christmas in Wolf Creek. Both movies are available to order on DVD through Amazon.
Star-Crossed Romance
Previously Known As: A Playful Love
Original Air Date: October 23, 2022
Starring: Aliyah O'Brien, Andrew Zachar, and Corina Bradley
Storyline: After a disagreement between her son and another student, single-mother Piper is teamed up with that student’s handsome single-father to stage the school play, Romeo and Juliet. Piper must get past her ego, face her feelings, and figure out how to operate a hot-glue gun – all before opening night!
Movie Review:
π "Star-Crossed Romance is mostly family-friendly, with a few cautions... God's name is used in vain, at least twice, and the drama teacher, who is one of the side characters, acts VERY, VERY Strange. He has a fairly large stomach and he often rubs it and rolls around to get on the stage. My eyebrows were raised more than a few times. The chemistry between the leads was lacking, in my opinion, and some of the acting was sub-par. I never quite understood why the parents were punished to work on the school play's set after their children, who are portraying a modern (very odd) re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, got in a fight. Near the end, there was a nice moment when the two single parents and their children enjoy a family dinner, but even that was spoiled when Piper, the mother, asks if they say grace, and the father and daughter, say “yeah,” and they simply say “grace” loudly in unison. They all laugh and begin to eat. So… praying is essentially laughed at. I could go on, but I'll just say it has a happy ending where family is put first before work, but the movie is definitely not a keeper for me." ~Net
π "I watched Star-Crossed Romance and agreed with all your comments. While it had some cute moments, it was a strange mishmash overall. That drama teacher was so odd and kind of creepy. And the rather gothic vibe of their Romeo and Juliet production bothered me, especially the big red glowing crosses at the end which seemed very gothic. And the makeup on her son bothered me, as again it seemed very gothic. I wouldn’t recommend this one for kids, and regret watching it myself." ~Deborah
Squeaky Clean Mysteries: Hazardous Duty
Original Air Date: October 30, 2022
Starring: Jessica Blackmore, Jamie Roy, and Kristi Murdock
Storyline: When her finances prevent her from earning a degree in forensic science, Gabby drops out of school to become a crime scene cleaner. When a routine cleaning job uncovers a murder weapon the police overlooked, Gabby realizes that the wrong person is in jail. With the help of her neighbor, Riley, Gabby plays detective. But can Riley help her before another murder occurs?
Movie Review:
π "I streamed this movie through Pureflix, which may or may not have edited some of the content. What I saw was a mystery fairly equivalent to any Hallmark Movies & Mysteries type film. The actress who played Gabby's best friend was really perky and fun throughout the movie. Also, the mystery part of the movie was intriguing and the romance part was sweet." ~Net
π "Squeaky Clean Mysteries was pretty compelling. Looking forward to digging into UP TV's new Christmas movies this weekend!" -Maria
I hope you find a movie or two on UPtv this October that you will enjoy.
Disclaimer: Please know when I share a movie, this is NOT an endorsement of any of the actors involved, personally or professionally, with their other TV/film projects.
Please note: I have not pre-screened all of these UPtv movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
I'm excited to see the mystery series. I hope it continues and put on dvd. I read the book series years ago and loved it. Chrisry Barritt is one of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteAbigail, Thank you for sharing that. I hope the movie is as good as the book for you. I thought it was quite intriguing. Nice to hear it is series... hope they plan to make more of them!
DeleteI really don't know what to make of this line-up.
ReplyDeleteThe first two are Reel One Etertainment movies but they're not that recent.
The Clue To Love has been around for some time and I could be wrong but for some reason I feel UPtv may have aired this before but not in a week-end slot.
I've seen both of these and I would need to watch them again to give a fair review.
Of the two I preferred A Country Romance although it was a pretty typical Rom.Com and while I did enjoy The Clue To Love I wouldn't be as enthusiastic as Net for I thought it was just a tad slow - it will be interesting to see what I think on a second viewing.
Love In Wolf Creek is described on IMDb as a Romance rather than a drama but there isn't much other info about it.
It's an Insp movie which UP has shown before.
As for the other two I can't find out much about them.
Squeaky Clean Mysteries sounds as if it might be part of a franchise - maybe it's the first one as there don't seem to be any others.
I've drawn a blank on Star-Crossed Romance but I'm happy enough where BOTH are single parents.
Now there's the long wait to see if UP continue with Reel One in January - there's a lot of new movies there which I'd love to see.
It was a worrying wait last year.
They've postponed Infamously In Love which we thought was airing on 02 October so hopefully it will appear next year so that may be a good sign that there's a batch on the way.
It should only be a couple of weeks until the big Christmas announcements are made.
October 01 is a Saturday so you'd expect the news on Monday 03 but I wonder which of GAC, Hallmark or Lifetime might try to steal a march on the others by revealing on Friday 30 September?
Florence
Florence, Yeah, this is definitely a mixed bag of movies. I was also surprised "Infamously In Love" was removed from the October lineup. I suppose they wanted to air some of the older films they purchased rights to and have them premiere on UPtv before they focus on Christmas.
DeleteI had the same thought - that they'll surely be airing "Infamously In Love" next year, along with a whole new slate of movies then. That is definitely a positive sign in my opinion, too!
You're right, "Love In Wolf Creek," is from INSP and Imagicomm Entertainment. It's the prequel movie to "Christmas in Wolf Creek," which reminds me a lot of their other previous films, "Romance in the Wilds" (also aired on UPtv) and "Christmas in the Wilds." Both sets of films definitely have that same action-adventure theme.
Should be interesting to get the full Christmas movie news from all the networks. I keep wondering if they plan to do a big reveal or slowly sprinkle them throughout the season. So far, everyone is doing the latter, but that usually changes, as you mentioned in late September/early October!
Hard to believe it is all coming so soon. Sure is hard to clear up the DVR with all of these other movies still coming.
I forgot to mention, the film "Squeaky Clean Mysteries" that's based by the book series by Christy Barritt is Christian. Don't know if they will put Christianity into the film, but it would be nice if they did. At least we have the assurance it's clean, Squeaky Clean. Haha:)
ReplyDeleteAbigail, How cute! I see what you did there! :)
DeleteI'm glad to hear they are working with Christian writers. Unfortunately, I'm not recalling anything faith-related in the movie, but the version showed on Pureflix was family-friendly. Or, maybe, PG due to the murder-mystery aspect of it. But, overall, yes, it was very clean! :)
interesting mix
ReplyDeleteUPDATE: It's looking like there may be some changes to UPtv's new movie schedule in October. Be sure to stay tuned for any potential schedule adjustments.
ReplyDeleteNet - is this the final line-up for October on UPtv?
ReplyDeleteI've somehow missed the post with the changes.
Interestingly I see Infamously In Love is back on the schedule on October 09.
I recently saw a movie called Family Friends in which Adam Huss starred with Amanda Righetti - nothing new in it, a typical Rom.Com but it was about old lovers reunited the chemistry was great between the actors and I actually was crying at the end so I'm looking forward to seeing Adam Huss again.
I see UP has definitely listed A Country Romance on their site for next Sunday.

Florence, As far as UPtv's schedule for October, I think it's possible there might be some more changes. I haven't received a full confirmation from my contact, and I keep waiting for more of the movies to appear on their web-site. Perhaps, with Christmas coming up, they are quite busy preparing for that.
DeleteI keep thinking about updating the main image and removing The Clue to Love, but I don't know if the other movies are 100% a go, either. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see on this.
Also, I appreciate your review for A Country Romance and the tactful way you mentioned how everyone could decide for themselves if they would like to watch. Thank you!
I shared your review above.
They've definitely showing Infamously In Love as airing 08 October on the website - Florence
ReplyDeleteFlorence, Yeah, that's the date The Clue to Love was previously scheduled to air. I removed it above and changed it to Infamously in Love's poster a few days ago.
DeleteHope the other movies follow through, especially Star-Crossed Romance. I'm quite curious to learn more about that one and who is in it.
Just wanted to share - this is now the official New Movie line-up for UPtv's October programming. "The Clue to Love" is not airing in October, after all.
ReplyDeleteI also updated the main image to reflect these changes.

DeleteMaria, Good to hear. I posted your reviews above.
DeleteHi, anyone know where I can find the beautiful red/burgundy/blue plaid blouse the actress has on at the very end of Love in Wolf Creek when they are releasing the wolf? Thank you
ReplyDeleteYes, I found her plaid shirt from Love in Wolf Creek for you!
DeleteFirst, I did a screen-grab of it -
*see here*
This shirt was previously available at Banana Republic. I was able to locate it at Poshmark.
