Movie Review:
π "I see UP has definitely listed A Country Romance on their site for next Sunday. The reviews for it aren't that good but it's a typical Rom.Com with a familiar plot and although the pace is quite gentle I personally rather enjoyed it, my interest kept until the end. There were a couple of interesting side plots in it. The movie is family friendly but I read a post recently which said they hadn't realise Luke McFarlane was gay and they now wouldn't be watching any more of his movies. For anyone here who doesn't know Jonathan Bennett is openly gay so you can make your own mind up whether you would wish to watch this" - Florence
π "A Country Romance was very cozy." :) -Maria
Infamously in Love
Original Air Date: October 9, 2022
Starring: Jennifer Freeman and Adam Huss
Storyline: A frustratingly micromanaged popstar who dreams of the “ordinary” that life has to offer finds herself torn between her celebrity ex, the machinations of her controlling manager, and a developing romance with a down-to-earth record store owner. Will she gain more autonomy over her life – especially her love life – and start making decisions for herself, or will the celebrity machine be too powerful for her to ever feel even remotely normal?
Movie Review:
π "Infamously in Love was very nice!" -Maria
π "Maria, I watched the first 15 minutes and wasn't sure about it with the whole purple hair and concert stuff. Did it get better after that, cause the intro was kinda rough? Plus, asking that random guy to kiss her to make her ex mad or something was a bit off to me. I'm sure it got better from there, but my, that beginning." ~Net
π "It got better from there." -Maria

Star-Crossed Romance
Previously Known As: A Playful Love
Original Air Date: October 23, 2022
Starring: Aliyah O'Brien, Andrew Zachar, and Corina Bradley
Storyline: After a disagreement between her son and another student, single-mother Piper is teamed up with that student’s handsome single-father to stage the school play, Romeo and Juliet. Piper must get past her ego, face her feelings, and figure out how to operate a hot-glue gun – all before opening night!
Movie Review:
π "Star-Crossed Romance is mostly family-friendly, with a few cautions... God's name is used in vain, at least twice, and the drama teacher, who is one of the side characters, acts VERY, VERY Strange. He has a fairly large stomach and he often rubs it and rolls around to get on the stage. My eyebrows were raised more than a few times. The chemistry between the leads was lacking, in my opinion, and some of the acting was sub-par. I never quite understood why the parents were punished to work on the school play's set after their children, who are portraying a modern (very odd) re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, got in a fight. Near the end, there was a nice moment when the two single parents and their children enjoy a family dinner, but even that was spoiled when Piper, the mother, asks if they say grace, and the father and daughter, say “yeah,” and they simply say “grace” loudly in unison. They all laugh and begin to eat. So… praying is essentially laughed at. I could go on, but I'll just say it has a happy ending where family is put first before work, but the movie is definitely not a keeper for me." ~Net
π "I watched Star-Crossed Romance and agreed with all your comments. While it had some cute moments, it was a strange mishmash overall. That drama teacher was so odd and kind of creepy. And the rather gothic vibe of their Romeo and Juliet production bothered me, especially the big red glowing crosses at the end which seemed very gothic. And the makeup on her son bothered me, as again it seemed very gothic. I wouldn’t recommend this one for kids, and regret watching it myself." ~Deborah
Squeaky Clean Mysteries: Hazardous Duty
Original Air Date: October 30, 2022
Starring: Jessica Blackmore, Jamie Roy, and Kristi Murdock
Storyline: When her finances prevent her from earning a degree in forensic science, Gabby drops out of school to become a crime scene cleaner. When a routine cleaning job uncovers a murder weapon the police overlooked, Gabby realizes that the wrong person is in jail. With the help of her neighbor, Riley, Gabby plays detective. But can Riley help her before another murder occurs?
Movie Review:
π "I streamed this movie through Pureflix, which may or may not have edited some of the content. What I saw was a mystery fairly equivalent to any Hallmark Movies & Mysteries type film. The actress who played Gabby's best friend was really perky and fun throughout the movie. Also, the mystery part of the movie was intriguing and the romance part was sweet." ~Net
π "Squeaky Clean Mysteries was pretty compelling. Looking forward to digging into UP TV's new Christmas movies this weekend!" -Maria
