PLOT:

via press release: Ellie O’Brien (List) is trying to juggle rhythmic gymnastics and troubles with her best friend. Meanwhile, classmate Jack Malloy (Bertrand) is struggling to live up to his brothers’ hockey-star legacies and his dad’s high expectations and tough-love approach. When a text argument about whose life is easier gets out of hand, Ellie and Jack trigger an unexplainable real-life swap. As each tries to navigate the other’s life, hilarity ensues when Ellie (as Jack) learns about brotherly bonding and hockey lingo, while Jack (as Ellie) has to decipher girl code and experiences a spa day. With a rhythmic gymnastics championship and a spot on the varsity hockey team on the line, they must figure out how to get back in their own bodies before the swap becomes permanent. As they are forced to literally walk in each other’s shoes, they gain empathy for one another and learn valuable lessons about their own lives.

'Twas the Night for Christmas in June!!!

As part of the Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) 100 Movie Tribute... each night at Midnight the Disney Channel is continuing to air 2 of the original DCOMs!

Since we all LOVE Christmas movies here at "It's a Wonderful Movie", I thought it would be fun to mention... this week the Disney Channel is airing 3 of their Original Christmas Movies, starting with Good Luck Charlie, It's Christmas! on Wednesday night at Midnight (technically Thursday morning!) and then on Thursday night at Midnight (technically Friday morning!) they are airing 2 Christmas movies back to back... The Ultimate Christmas Present and 'Twas the Night.

A little Christmas in June is the perfect way to cool off this summer!

PLOT:

Based on the popular book "Boys are Dogs" by Leslie Margolis, "Zapped" follows Zoey Stevens, a skilled dancer and straight-A student who is having a hard time adjusting to her new life once her mom remarries. Now she has to live with three messy and rambunctious step-brothers, a loud step-dad and an unruly dog. The Boys at school seem even worse, particularly the group of misfits who make up the JV dance squad that she is forced to join. Nothing seems to be going right for the savvy teen, until she discovers the dog training app on her smartphone can now somehow control boys. Convinced life would be better if the boys around her would change, Zoey uses her newfound power to command the boys in her life to behave better, all except Jackson Kale - the one guy at school who stands apart from everyone else. Now Zoey finds herself asking if the app is really the answer to fixing her family life, managing the boys in school and making her dance crew the best.

It's a New Year of New Movies and the Hallmark Channel, UP, and Disney... will be premiering their first Original Movies of 2014, this Weekend!

There are 3 New Movies in all -  one for each night: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday... see them listed below!

This is the first "NEW" Hallmark Channel Movie since all of their Christmas Movies, of last year... and I am looking forward to it, because the film, titled "June in January" stars Brooke D'Orsay, who starred in the viewers voted "It's a Wonderful Movie" favorite movie of 2012, "How to Fall in Love". So, hopefully this new movie will be one we love, too!

“Cloud 9″ follows two unlikely friends, Kayla Morgan, a prima donna snowboarder who was just dropped from her competition team, and Will Cloud, a former snowboarding champion who is struggling after a career-ending wipeout. The two meet when Kayla is forced to work at the local dog grooming shop owned by Will’s mother. Determined to become a better boarder, Kayla finds an unexpected mentor in Will, who she realizes can help take her to the next level. So in exchange for help fixing up the dog grooming shop, Will reluctantly accepts Kayla’s pleas to train her and introduces her to a regimen that tests her true commitment to the sport. As the two grow closer, Kayla’s efforts convince Will that he, too, has the power to regain his championship status and that nothing is impossible.


Movie Review:

Cloud 9 was fun, bright, & cheerful… a great movie for children, Tweens, some Teens, and Family Viewing, too! It had elements most girls & guys enjoy –fashion, comedy, dogs, and of course, snowboarding!

The main story is around Kayla Morgan, who is your stereotypical pampered princess. However, everything turns around for her after one night when she and her teammates go sledding. The sled she & her boyfriend, Nick, are riding goes out of control and Nick bails on her. Somehow she remarkably survives a crazy trip down the hill and a major crash through a very large wooden sign, with hardly a scratch.

Things get even worse from there… Nick, her boyfriend, dumps her, the team drops her, and her father admits he was the reason Kayla was on the snowboarding team to begin with. He had bought her way. Also as punishment, for goofing off and breaking the sign, she must work at the lodge’s dog kennel.

At first, Kayla is rather down and discouraged- having to work with a former injured snowboarder, Will Cloud and his Mother at this drab doggie daycare. Eventually, though… she decides to make the most of it – as she re-joins the competition with a new team, talks Will into coaching her, and helps turn the dog kennel around, too – after a few mishaps along the way!!!

It’s a great Disney Channel movie families can enjoy watching together.
