New Updates (you may or may not have noticed!)
Sometimes, new information and pictures are added to older postings and I just wanted you to be aware of these new and latest additions.
First of all, the Banner has been updated above with new movie images on the right.
| (click image to enlarge) |
The new images are from the Movies: God's Country (coming to the Up network), Banner 4th of July (Hallmark Channel), and I've included the upcoming Summer Movie Musical for the Disney Channel, Teen Beach Movie. It reminds me of a modern day, "G" version of Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello's "Beach Blanket Bingo" type movies. Featured on the left, remains the Hallmark Channel's upcoming July Original Movies: Second Chances and Cedar Cove, which will also be the Hallmark Channel's first scripted drama series.
New Movie Reviews:
Finding Normal- Dr. Lisa Leland (portrayed by Candace Cameron Bure) wasn't really seeking a different life, but when she finds herself on the wrong side of the law in a small town called Normal, everything for her changes! (click here to read more of my review)

Notes from Dad- A real, authentic movie that honors fatherhood. This wasn't your typical sugar-coated happy-all-the-time little movie. These characters had depth - issues, problems, wounds.
Inspired by the life of his father, and the hero he was during the Vietnam war, Clay Allen felt compelled to do something with his life that could make a difference; thus, he became a teacher, a music teacher. (click here to read more of my review)
New Movie Images:
New Movie Press Promotional Pictures have been added to the site for:
Teen Beach Movie - starring Disney Channel stars Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell.

Stars American Idol Alum: Brooke White and will Feature Two Original Songs Written and Recorded by Brooke White!
CAST:
Brooke White ... Desiree Banner

Mercedes Ruehl ... Rosalind

PLOT:
Desiree Banner (White) may own her own record company but she has struggled to find her perfect melody since leaving the band she once headlined with her brothers Mitchell (Campbell) and Johnny (Barbuto). Her departure from the band, The Banners Project, led her into a marriage that was doomed to fail and deeply damaged her relationship with Mitchell, whom she has avoided for the past ten years. Nevertheless, when Desiree's mother, Rosalind (Ruehl), suffers a heart attack, Desiree and Mitchell rush home and join their brother Johnny to be by her side. Shortly after Desiree arrives in her hometown of Pinewood Hills, she learns that the town will face bankruptcy if it can't make a bond repayment by the July 4th Holiday. Confined to bed and hating every minute of it, Rosalind, who also happens to be Mayor of Pinewood Hills, has secretly hatched a plan to repay the town's debt. Rosalind has booked The Banners Project in a reunion concert at the town's annual Fourth of July festival. The reunion concert will be a big deal, bringing in people from all over the country. The ticket sales alone will cover the debt.
As Desiree attempts to work with her brothers to conjure up a long-term solution to Pinewood's financial crisis, she must face her past mistakes head on, including the bad blood with Mitchell. As the Fourth of July approaches, it is up to Desiree and her siblings to put into action a plan that will save Pinewood Hills. In order for The Banners Project to help their beloved hometown recover from hard financial times, they must put their family feud aside and find harmony both on and offstage.

Change of Plans - Family Movie Night on FOX
MOVIE REVIEW
Change of Plans
(sponsored by Walmart)
Network: FOX
Original Air Date: January 8, 2010
CAST:
Brooke White ... Sally Danville
Phylicia Rashad ... Dorothy
Jayme Lynn Evans ... Jordan
Bobby Soto ... Javier
Jakobe' Dempsey ... Kaleb
Joe Flanigan ... Jason Danville
Aurora Kruk ... Christine
Paul Sun-Hyung Lee ... Toby
PLOT:
Up to this point, Sally Danville's life has played out just as she hoped it would. A beautiful and free-spirited musician, she and her fighter-pilot husband, Jason, live life on the go, free of domestic responsibilities. But with a single phone call from Child & Family Services case worker, Dorothy (Phylicia Rashad, The Cosby Show), she learns that things don't always go according to plan. Sally (Brooke White, American Idol) is met with the news that her best friend from college has died in a tragic accident on a Peace Corps mission and has named Sally the legal guardian of her four kids - 3 of them adopted from third-world countries. Now Sally and Jason (Joe Flanigan, Stargate Atlantis) must quickly learn to parent this instant family and help the kids deal with the culture clash of life in America. The story is both humorous and heartwarming, revealing how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others.
Movie Review:
In my opinion, Change of Plans has been the best, of these Walmart Sponsored Family Movie Nights.
I was wondering if Brooke White, who was an American Idol finalist, would be good at acting, and she was truly great. She and the guy, who potrayed her husband, Joe Flanigan, were terrific together!
The story is about a successful couple, Sally and Jason, who find themselves caring for four children after their parents are killed. The children have been living in the Sudan, 3 are adopted, and are from different racial backgrounds and cultures... and, yet, they are very much a family.
It is really a precious and beautiful story of how this couple and these children open up there home and hearts to one another and become a family. Sally and Jason think they will take care of the children only temporarily until a new home can be found for these kids and they can return to their busy hectic lives and careers, but each day they grow closer and closer to the children. The storyline reminded me of: Rent-a-Kid
My only caution would be for younger kids, who might be upset by this storyline of these children losing their parents. So, please be aware of this before viewing.
Other than that, it is a very moving, inspiring movie... it may be a little cheesy for some, and predictable, at times, but even still, it is very heart-warming!
See or Skip:
See, a sweet movie.
