I've been eagerly waiting to share this news with you all for days now - as soon as Great American Family posted it on their website and TV!
It appears the Christmas movie launch may only be the weekend of October 13th through the 15th, with round-the-clock Christmas movies lasting throughout the Christmas season - beginning on Friday, October 20th.
The first three Christmas movie premieres on Great American Family are...
πDestined 2: Christmas Once More - October 14, 2023
(starring Shae Robins and Casey Elliott)
π'Twas the Text Before Christmas - October 21, 2023
(starring Merritt Patterson and Trevor Donovan)
πBringing Christmas Home - October 28, 2023
(starring Jill Wagner and Paul Greene)
Danica McKellar's Christmas movie, which will premiere Thanksgiving Weekend, has been newly retitled: A Royal Date for Christmas.
There was also a promotion (at the bottom of the screen) on Great American Family for a movie (or series) titled, Journey to Christmas. I'm not sure if this is something new or a religious series (see here) from 2017 that has the same title. The text stated that Journey to Christmas would premiere on Saturday, October 29, but October 29th does not land on a Saturday this year, so we'll have to wait and see what the correct date is for this - when Great American Family releases more news. I'm wondering if they meant to say Sunday, and perhaps they will air some religious Christmas movies from Great American Pure Flix on those nights? That is only my guess. We'll have to see what they announce soon!
UPDATE: The premiere date for Journey to Christmas has been updated to Sunday, October 29th, and is now included in the 20 New Christmas movies premiering this year on Great American Family. See the movies listed in the image below...
Stay tuned for more movie updates! And be sure to add lots of icing and sprinkles to your Christmas cookies for Santa!

ReplyDeleteSo, looking forward to Jill & Paul in Bringing Christmas Home, but why would you not premiere it on Veteran's Day. It lands on a Saturday. This a military themed movie. Just does not make sense. It seems all these channels need help with their programming. Thanks, Net, for keeping us up to date!
ReplyDeleteI asked same thing “Bringing Christmas Home”, could premiere on Veteran’s Day
DeleteIf there’s Veteran’s Day movies
Hope you are correct about the Sunday lineup in collaboration with Great American Pure Flix- Reason for the Season.

Journey to Christmas
ReplyDeletePremiere Sunday
October 29, 2023
8pm ET/5pm PT
GAFAM
They labelled wrong; Journey to Christmas on Saturday, October 29, 2023 at 8pm ET/5pm PT but it’s actually Sunday, October 29, 2023 & also on Saturday, October 28, 2023; Bringing Home Christmas at 8pm ET/5pm PT
Such exciting news, I cannot wait for Destined 2 and what they have planned for that movie!
ReplyDelete~Paula
I was thinking that the Pure Flix movies airing on Monday nights in August might mean that we might get Pure Flix Christmas Movies on Monday nights. But I think you could be right about Sunday nights, especially with Christmas Eve being on Sunday this year they could have a special movie planned .
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, makes me want to bake some Christmas cookies right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat about the autumn movie for next Saturday? It was the key movie. This is really early. Mid October for new Christmas movies?
ReplyDeleteSabrina
I'm looking forward to these Christmas movies. I'm glad they are premiering early in October. Thanks so much for letting us know. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteJim,
ReplyDeleteFirst (from your first comment above), it's always so good to hear your Christmas enthusiasm! It always warms my heart to hear your Christmas excitement!
Now, for your question... I've only seen Journey to Christmas mentioned (so far) at the bottom of the screen. I saw it multiple times over the weekend and some on Monday.
I screen-grabbed it to share with you.

The text states that this show/movie will air Saturday October 29th, but as I said above, the 29th does not land on a Saturday this year. So, we'll have to see what happens with this.
Hope this helps! :)
Blessings to you! Christmas is Coming!!! Net
Jim, Update to the information above... I'm just now seeing "Journey to Christmas" at the bottom of the screen again and now it says, Sunday October 29th at 8pm/7c.
ReplyDeletePossible UPDATE to Great American Family's Christmas Schedule...
ReplyDeleteThe list of 2023 NEW Christmas movies is now featured in one of GAF's new commercial promos.
I added a screen-grab above.
The title "Journey to Christmas" is now listed as one of the 20 Christmas movies, while the film, "A Model Christmas" is no longer on the list, unless "Journey to Christmas" is a new title for it.
"Journey to Christmas" may also be a religious series, especially since it will air on Sunday.
Waiting for more details!
Stay tuned! π Net
Sounds interesting. -Maria
Delete"Journey to Christmas" is a new title for "A Model Christmas," after all!
DeleteIt does get confusing, sometimes, when they change titles around and the new title happens to be something already out.
Anyway, that mystery is solved! :)
I would like to let everyone know, i noticed Hallmark Drama is playing Christmas all day and night this weekend. They are playing such greats as Northpole, Catch a Christmas Star, Naughty or Nice, Angel of Christmas, and Christmas Dance. These are all movies they never play on either HM channel, so you might want to record them.
ReplyDeleteThey are also playing Ice Sculpture Christmas which they never play. Window Wonderland is also being played, as well as Christmas with Tucker. Pretty much all the good, older movies. Though I am still missing Matchmaker Santa.
Drama channle is also playing Christmas on Sat nights in Oct and November. The 21st they are playing SSD Christmas, as well as Trading Christmas.
Sabrina
Sabrina! Yes, this is so exciting!
DeleteI am in the process of working on my weekend movie post and just learned this schedule news for Hallmark Drama. I'm not recalling this in the schedule before, so I'm wondering... could they have added this in last minute to put something out Christmas this weekend, too???
Anyway, whatever the reason, it's nice to see these classic Christmas movies on Hallmark Drama again! I also love movies like Northpole, Christmas Dance, Window Wonderland, and of course Signed, Sealed, Delivered: For Christmas!
Happy Christmas movie watching, my friend! Net π
Thank you for this info Sabrina! I have set a couple to record. And Jim me too, I just watched Trading Christmas and I loved it! Totally one of those that I can watch every Christmas season π
Delete~Paula
Sabrina, thank you for letting us know about these movies. I own dvd's for several of them (Trading Christmas, Window Wonderland, Christmas Dance, The Christmas Shepherd), but the rest of them I recorded and have been watching. So far, the favorite one's I've watched are Love Always, Santa and Naughty or Nice. I'm halfway through A Nutcracker Christmas and am enjoying all the beautiful ballet dance scenes. I want to watch November Christmas but I'm not sure I can handle a tear-jerker just now. Thanks again for sharing!

I have never seen a network like GAC before. Today is Wednesday the schedule for next week is not even posted. Seriously what is their problem. They did the same thing last year why do they feel it needs to be a BIG SECRET do they seriously believe that hallmark is going to change their schedule. Put the schedule out already
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know, I have seen the Great American Family schedule beyond this weekend, and it includes many of the same classic Christmas movies we saw on the network last year, including Mrs. Miracle, Call Me Mrs. Miracle, The Christmas Calendar, Merry Kissmas, and of course all the Great American Family Christmas movies from Year 1 and 2.
DeleteI did spot the addition of Christmas in the Smokies (the INSP movie from 2015) to the schedule, as well.
Hope that helps. I'm sure TV guides are updating as we speak! :)
