UPtv will be premiering 3 romantic-comedy movie premieres - coming in January 2023!
See all the details below...
The Princess and the Bodyguard
Original Air Date: January 15, 2023
Starring: Emily Alatalo, Ryan Bruce, Marcus Craig
Storyline: On her 35th birthday, Lexi discovers who she secretly always was... a royal Princess. She now has two weeks to find a suitable date for the royal gala under the watchful eye of her handsome but infuriating bodyguard, Noah.
Movie Review:
π Awww, The Princess and the Bodyguard is such a sweet movie!! –Maria
π The Princess and the Bodyguard – This movie started out a little slow for me, but it picked it up as more characters were introduced. Lexi (the princess) is torn between her normal life (working in New York and living with a roommate, who doesn’t know her royal identity) and choosing whether or not she will accept her place back home in her country, Santovia, as royalty. It’s interesting to see Lexi deal with this challenge in her life and how to tell her best friend. I also thought it was a nice touch to the story to see how Noah (the bodyguard) took care of his younger brother, who is in a wheelchair. That showed that his character had empathy for others in the way that he looked after him. The Princess and the Bodyguard ended up being a rather sweet love story; plus, from what I recall, it is family-friendly. ~Net
π Watched the Princess and the Bodyguard. It was cute and cheesy, but fun. Could do without the yoga though. ~Abigail
The Clue to Love
Original Air Date: January 22, 2023
Starring: Rachel Bles and Travis Milne
Storyline: Audrey Harper heads to Hope Cove to write about the anonymous Ask Aunt Hope, a love advice column and a mainstay of the town’s local newspaper. There, she meets the charming and handsome Editor-in-Chief Morgan Cooper, who helps her uncover the true identity of “Aunt Hope.”
Movie Review:
π "Extra! Extra! Read All About It! "The Clue to Love" is such a cute rom-com with charming banter that revolves around a newspaper business and stars Rachel Bles (“Cooking Up Love”) as Audrey Harper and Travis Milne (who I just loved as Charlie Baker in “A Gift Wrapped Christmas”) as Morgan Cooper. Both are newspaper reporters; however, Audrey is learning to write her stories with a little more heart, as Morgan, the Editor in Chief, has shown in his award winning articles. As Audrey shadows Morgan at the Hope Cove Beacon Newspaper, she discovers the identity of the person who writes the infamous local advice column, Ask Aunt Hope, is a secret and she is determined to figure out who the person is. Morgan and Audrey have wonderful chemistry together, and there’s some interesting tension at the newspaper on whether or not Morgan’s father will sell the family business. Plus, Morgan is beginning to wonder if he can trust Audrey, since she is connected with the big city newspaper that wants to purchase Hope Cove’s small town paper. Overall, here’s my exclusive scoop… "The Clue to Love" is a very sweet story, with a little bit of mystery and heartfelt moments. I do have to caution that there is one brief comment from a male co-worker near the beginning of the movie about his husband. I believe that is the only time this is mentioned." ~Net
π "I have seen The Clue to Love as well as Finding Love in San Antonio. The Clue to Love - There was a comment at the 13 minute mark where a guy says that "our surrogate has gone into labour" and then "my husband....". Other than that comment, the rest of the movie is family friendly." ~Karen
Finding Love in San Antonio
Original Air Date: January 29, 2023
Starring: Valentina Izarra, George Akram, Isabella Rivera-Gandulla
Storyline: A successful Los Angeles TV chef is offered a new network series that will send her traveling around Europe, but her young daughter's heart is in San Antonio, Texas, and the restaurant where she got her start is struggling.
Movie Review:
π "Finding Love in San Antonio - Family friendly movie. I noticed a comment saying it was about a single mom. I just wanted to let people know that she is a single mom because her husband has died." ~Karen
UPtv will also be airing the British TV Series, Wild at Heart, beginning Thursday, Jan. 26 at 8:30PM ET. The series originally aired from 2006 to 2013. I am not familiar with this show; however, I did notice IMDB gave it a TV-14 rating.
I hope you find a movie or two on UPtv in the New Year that you will enjoy.

Please note: I have not pre-screened all of these UPtv movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
The 1st and 3rd movies look pretty good. I dunno if I'll have the time to try and get addicted to another show. -Maria
ReplyDeleteThanks for the news, Net.
ReplyDeleteDisappointed with this line-up from UP.
I wonder what the future is going to hold from them?
I wonder why there is no movie 08 January leaving only 3 new airings instead of 4.
Two of these are from 2021 - we've been promised The Clue To Love before, hopefully they will actually air it this time.
Finding Love In San Antomio is from BTF Media who specialise in Hispanic product bit it's about a single mother (I presume she's been married before) so I won't watch it.
I do like the look of The Princess And The Bodyguard - it's a 2022 Reel One movie.
Absoluely snowed under with Christmas movies this year and don't seem to be making much headway with them - while I haven't seen that many, the Lifetime ones to date have been a definite improvement on prior seasons.
I saw Emilty Alatolo with Corey Sevier in A Christmas Plus One (family-friendly) - which was streamed by Paramount and it is actually my favourite 2022 Christmas offering so far, so I have high hopes for this one.
There are an abundance of Reel One movies which I would love to see so it's with some trepidation that I will await UP's February line-up - really hope they're not going on a new path.
Florence
Florence, I was really surprised over the movies, too. Like you, I have a whole list of Reel One movies that I've been hoping to see. Hopefully, we'll have more than two from their production company in February.
DeleteNot sure why there isn't a new movie on Sunday, January 8th. My guess is they must be doing some sort of marathon that day, like Blue Bloods or another sitcom/drama.
Thank you for the tip on where to watch A Christmas Plus One! That one is definitely on my watch list! It's too bad no one played it on TV this year. Hopefully, I'll find time to stream it before Christmas. These holiday-themed movies sometimes become unavailable immediately after December 25th.
Merry Christmas to you!!! π
Florence, I too, have enjoyed quite a few Reel One movies and hope UP keeps them. They eventually end up on the UP Faith & Family streaming service, and I've bought a month here and there to watch them--quite a few have been really nice movies!
DeleteThanks for mentioning where to watch "A Christmas Plus One"...I might have to do a free trial to see it. Are there any other good Christmas movies available there?
Also, I know you prefer to avoid the movies with lopsided divorcees, but I always forget to mention that in reviews! If there are any you're wondering about, feel free to ask, and I'll try to let you know. :-)
~Alicia
Hi Alicia
DeleteYou usually find it is mentioned in the blurb although a few do slip through.
I wouldn't have watched Christmas Bedtime Stories until I read comments here and reaalised that there was an unexpected twist toit soI watched it.
I always try to be careful if reviewingas you don' want to spoil things for others.
I toojk out a "trial" subscription to Paramount as I particularly wanted to see Christmas Plus One also Planes Trains And Christmas Trees and I thought it was worth it - I immediately cancelled when I had seen them.
I don't really like streaming as we have to watch the movies on the laptop and it is very hard on the eyes.
Florence
These sound promising.
ReplyDeleteJust FYI. Roku channel has a lot of Reel One Entertainment movies. So if you have one of their devices, movies like Clue to Love and Wedding Cake Dreams, etc. can be found there for free. Also sometimes you can find them on Prime, if you have that as well.
ReplyDeleteGAF and several Streaming channels seem to be increasingly picking up Reel One Entertainment movies now so this could be why UP doesn't seem to be airing as many of their's now - Florence

Karen, Thank you so much for sharing these reviews. I'm glad to hear that was the only moment in "The Clue to Love."
DeleteAlso, I appreciate the additional information on "Finding Love in San Antonio."
I shared your reviews above.
Blessings & Happy New Year to You!!!
