Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies airing this weekend. If you'd like to leave a review, please share in comments below.
We did, however, receive a wonderful review from Florence (who is one of the top reviewers here!) for UP's new movie. Here's what she shared with us...
"The Nature Of Romance is a solid and pleasant Rom.Com - nothing ground-breaking but definitely family friendly with a good performance from Brant Daugherty and I think most here should enjoy it" - Florence
Thank you, Florence, for sharing this news with us. I'm sure many (myself included) will enjoy watching "The Nature Of Romance" now based on your review!
I'm hoping "Road Trip Romance" is as cute as the promo looks. I love both actors, Natalie Hall and Corey Sevier, and I have a feeling they'll be great together!
To be honest, "Heart of the Matter" seems rather sad to me, so I'll be passing on that movie this weekend. Maybe I'll catch it sometime later on. If you plan on watching it, I would love to hear your take, good or bad.
I am, however, looking forward to the new episode of "When Calls the Heart" on Sunday night. I can hardly believe season 9 is almost over. Where did the time go? Sure hope they find out what's wrong with Bill's health and the coal mine doesn't actually reopen. And I hope we get to see Lee receive the good news that Rosemary is expecting! I'm not a big fan, as many of you know, of Elizabeth and Lucas, but I do think an engagement may be coming. As for Nathan, who knows? The key art poster for this season did feature Nathan standing next to Mei Sou, so I would be surprised if they didn't end up together, somehow, or at least, having that dinner date Nathan asked her to go on many episodes ago. Hopefully, season 10 news will come soon!
SHINING HIS LIGHT:
"Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;
it is the LORD who sends the thunderstorms.
He gives showers of rain to all people,
and plants of the field to everyone."
~Zechariah 10:1
Road Trip Romance looks cute.
ReplyDeletelooking forward to Road Trip Romance - Natalie Hall and Corey Sevier are always good fun and it's a film Hallmark seems to have bought in so I think it should be family friendly.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how Heart Of The Matter will pan out but I'm looking forward to seeing Chandler Massey although he only appears to have a secondary role.
I thought he was brilliant in Next Stop Christmas - Florence
I hope Road Trip Romance is family friendly. The preview is so cute, just like you said Net. I love Natalie Hall, so I’ll give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI can’t wait to see the smile on Lee’s face when he learns he’ll be a daddy. He will be a wonderful one.
Sad to say it had its sprinkling of wokeness. I guess anything from now on from Hallmark will have its interjection of things that don’t really add anything to the story. Longing for story’s that aren’t cookie cutter themes with predictable endings.
DeleteI can’t wait to see the next When Calls The Heart. I do think an engagement is coming also, and I’m thrilled. I actually wanted to see Elizabeth and Lucas’ relationship progress quickly so that we could see her happily married and living life, which we didn’t get to see the first time. I do hope season 10 is coming so that we get a wedding next season. I’m so glad that Rosemary and Lee are going to have a baby. I can’t wait to see them as parents.
ReplyDeleteRebecca
I couldn't agree more Rebecca. I was thinking the same thing last night. When Elizabeth (finally) got married last time, they we're barely for half a season. I really hope to see a lot more this time.
DeleteWouldn't it to sweet if Rosemary had twins!
Oh my goodness, I would love to see twins for them! One boy and one girl would be adorable.
DeleteI’m hoping that the next season actually starts out with the wedding so we can have the entire season to enjoy their life together with Little Jack.
Rebecca
Aww, yeah! I would love to see them start their marriage earlier in the season. Then we could see more family bonding scenes. I also hope to one day see them settled on some property, outside of Hope Valley.
DeleteAnd a boy and girl would be precious. If anyone deserves it, it’s Rosemary and Lee for waiting soooo long.
Love on the Rise was really sweet. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, I so agree! I first saw this movie through streaming a year or so ago and enjoyed it. I caught Love on the Rise again on GAC on Saturday afternoon and I must say, even though I had seen it, I was glued! Hope we see even more like this on GAC in the future.
DeleteThank you Florence for the UP movie review. Just set DVR to record tonight. It’s too bad we can’t trust UP any more either. MaryBeth
ReplyDeletereally enjoyed the Saturday movies on gac Family. It’s too bad they don’t have them on Sunday too.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you think of Road Trip Romance? I thought that Road Trip Romance was terrible.
ReplyDeleteRoad Trip Romance....
ReplyDeleteI truly enjoyed this film. It was so sweet and funny. Loved the Renaissance Fair and all the kind people. All of it was great, especially loved the kindness and forgiveness she shows to Della. And it was 100% friendly!! And so much chemistry between the too!
I thought the actress who played Della looked a lot like Alexa PenaVega if you ignore the curly hair and I thought the actress who plays the bride looked a lot like Julie Gonzalo. Almost like they could be sisters!
Another thing I thought was funny... during the Renaissance, no one was using electricity, but the women obviously used curling irons. ;)
Abigail, Good to hear your take on Road Trip Romance. Sounds like there are various opinions on this one, but I'm glad to know how much you enjoyed it. :)

Heart of the Matter is, probably the most emotional HMM movie I've ever seen! And it's also clean. So, if you're interested, might be best to have some tissues handy. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Thank you for the heads up on the tissues. When I do watch, I'll be sure to be prepared.

The Nature Of Romance could not hold my interest. As much as I love watching Brant Daugherty, this movie had something missing. I was so disappointed.
ReplyDeleteNow waiting to see if Road Trip Romance is safe. Fingers crossed!
Heart of the Matter: Family friendly, but what a heavy topic! A doctor loses her patient because of negligence on her part, and she suffers emotionally for it. Plus, the patient's mother is angry and sues the doctor. Aimee Teegarden has been great in other movies, but they don't hold a candle to her performance in this one! The emotions and the suffering she shows...you can't help but suffer along with her! I recommend watching it if you are in the mood for a very serious, non-light-hearted movie, and as Maria said, you may want to have some tissues handy.
ReplyDeleteAt last, a movie with heart. Could be relatable to anyone that has faced loss. .
DeleteMark 25, Thank you for this in-depth review of Heart of the Matter. Sounds like a truly deep story that really pulls the viewer in.
DeleteI shared your review under my Heart of the Matter post.
I thought that Heart of the Matter was a great film.
ReplyDeleteChris, Thank you for sharing with us! I always enjoy hearing your perspective.

What are your favorite Aimee Teagarden Movies that you have seen?
DeleteI started to watch Heart of the Matter. Got 20 minutes into it, but had to stop watching because it was so sad. I really like the special needs young man. I was glad to hear this film is family friendly. I just couldn’t watch anymore. Did she get married in the end?? And Maria... you are so right. Her acting was terrific, and I only saw a little bit.
ReplyDeleteIt did make me grateful that my Dad got there in time during his heart attack last fall (he is doing really well, BTW. Thank you for all the prayers. God is so good!
Abigail, I'm so glad your real-life story is much happier than this movie. Thank you for sharing your continued praise report with us. I'm so happy for you and your family that all is going well with your Dad!
DeleteAs for the movie, I'm the same way with sad stories. They just aren't for me; I prefer to be uplifted when I sit down to watch a movie for 2 hours. While Sweet Carolina (last year's premiere) had some excellent acting by Lacey Chabert, I could hardly bare the storyline where she lost her sister and brother-n-law. It was just too heartbreaking for me personally.
Hopefully, someone won't mind sharing a few details of the ending with you.
Hi Abigail - SPOILER ALERT! To answer your question, she broke off the engagement and relationship (she didn't want him and his son to be dragged down with her), but at the end, when she was in a better place, she got back together with him.
DeleteI think this was the first Hallmark movie I've seen where there is as much emphasis on a non-romantic relationship (in this case, between the doctor and the patient's mother) than with a romantic relationship. In fact, I just took a good look at the poster - has there ever been another Hallmark movie (not counting one that is part of a series) that did not show the romantic leads?
