Hope you all have a peaceful weekend. As I write the end of this post, I just received news that a friend of my family, lost her father-n-law to the corona virus on Friday morning. Our hearts are breaking for their entire family over this immense loss. Her mother-n-law also has the virus, but was recently able to come home from the hospital. Please pray for her healing and for the children and grandchildren during this difficult time. Receiving news like this truly puts life into perspective.

I also just learned that my cousins' wife has the virus, and a neighbor, who is an older man, a dear friend of my family for many years, is currently in the hospital with the virus. Please also pray for them - and that it won't spread to other family members.

How are you all doing? Are things getting better in your area? Or, are things much the same as they were last year? Please take care, everyone.

Love and Hugs to you all...
Be well, Net

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

because you know that the testing of your faith

Net, so sorry to hear the news of your friend passing from this horrible disease. Will pray for that family and for your cousin's family as well. As you know my husband and I had the virus back in December along with other family members too. All 3 of our children have had it and 4 of our grandchildren. We are blessed from the Lord we had no loss of life or hospitalizations. It's a nasty disease and I hope I never have to go through it again! Please everyone get the shot! Love and hugs to you and all that visit here!!

    1. Joyce, Thank you for your kind words. I remember you going through the awful time with the virus in December. So glad that is all in the past for you and your family. Such a scary time. It is so horrible and sad - the way it affects people so differently.

Love & hugs to you, too! God bless! :)

  2. Did you notice that Monday through Wednesday, Hallmark has no movies on their schedule...just sitcoms? I'm so disappointed, don't know if that will change or not. Anyone hear anything?

    1. Clara, Thank you so much for mentioning this - I had not noticed this sitcom takeover on the Hallmark Channel. I'm not liking this at all, and I have a feeling other Hallmark fans like us are going to feel the same way.

Why have 3 Hallmark stations when they are going to play non-Hallmark content for much of the day?

I will be sure to let you know if I hear anything more about this.

    3. I so agree, Net! I don't understand it. The network keeps claiming they have great ratings, but then show nothing but syndicated TV shows you can watch on several different channels? Makes no sense.

    4. Do you think down the road that Hallmark Channel will have sitcoms only and the movies on Hallmark Channel will be cancelled I would not like that.

    5. Do you have any Hallmark Movies on DVD if you do watch a Hallmark DVD in stead of watching sitcoms on Hallmark Channel.

  3. Does Hallmark Channel have movies for Mother's Day?

    1. Chris, Yes, Hallmark does have some movies with Mother's Day in them - such as: Mom's Day Away, Just the Way You Are, and Love Takes Flight!

  4. Net, so sorry to hear about your friends and family. Praying for a swift recovery for them. Here in SC, the virus seems to be decreasing steadily. Praying for an end to this soon. I have not taken the vaccine because I am afraid it was rushed thru too quickly and not tested enough. My husband and children have all gotten the vaccine against my wishes. After praying about this, I still do not think I should get the vaccine.

Have you heard about Ivermectin? I am in the process of trying to get some through the online doctors to take as a protection from the virus. There is a lot of good info about this from doctors on YouTube.

    1. kitkat, Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your heart with us. I think it is such an important, personal decision to decide what to do. Praying and asking the Lord for direction is definitely the best answer here.

I have heard of Ivermectin, but do not have much knowledge on it. I'll be sure to look into it and ask about it.

I so appreciate your prayers for my family and friends - thank you! And please know, I'll be praying for you, too!

  5. Nothing much on tonight - we record most of our movies so we're just about to start a Tyler Hynes marathon with a bit of Christas thrown in:

    It's Christmas Eve
On the 12th Date Of Christmas
    It Was Always You

Was looking at the movies shown on BYUTV last year and they were mostly family orientated with the odd romance so perhaps this may be a bit of a change of direction.

If so it might help to fill the gap when as is happening more often you don't really want to see the new Hallmark one.

  6. So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I had my second vaccine this week but worry about the long term side effects.

On a Hallmark note, I noticed that Matlock was not on during its usual time slot and was replaced by Murder She Wrote. Do you think this is temporary?

  9. Happy Monday everyone! Loved "Just For The Summer". It is family friendly, but if seeing a guy without his shirt is offensive, you might reconsider. It is only one scene. Don't know why they felt that necessary. So happy to see the little girl from "The Angel Tree" in this. The two grandmas are funny. This is a keeper for me. Want this DVD!

  10. 'When Calls the Heart' Fans Point Out an Important Detail About Elizabeth and Nathan From Sunday's Episode
This moment may even reveal who she'll choose in next week's finale.

Early on in the episode, Nathan (Kevin McGarry) swings by Elizabeth's house to drop off Florence's wedding bouquet, a hint that Elizabeth may be the next to marry. While there, Elizabeth asks Nathan to take off his red serge, so she can warm it up by the fire before he steps back out into the cold — something that she routinely did with her late husband, Jack. As she helps him into his jacket, she naturally starts to button it up, but stops in her tracks once she realizes that this moment feels all too familiar to ones she often shared with Jack.

Hearties are picking up on "important symbolism" in this scene: This marks the first time that a serge uniform has been in Elizabeth's house since Jack's death.

A few Hearties are even convinced that Little Jack will be the deciding factor. "I'm so convinced that LJ [Little Jack] will call Nathan 'daddy' because of the serge and that will spur Elizabeth on," one wrote. Several agreed, writing that "Hearties everywhere would melt" if this ends up happening.

    1. Denise, It was certainly a great ep of WCTH. I'm sure you've seen lots of recaps this week on social media, etc... I can only imagine what the Hearties reaction will be like after the finale.

Also, congratulations on your middle child's college graduation - that must've been a wonderful celebration! So happy for you and your family!

      God's blessings to you & yours!!! :)

    2. Thank you!

My oldest will receive his doctorate on the 15th, so it's been a busy graduation season for us.

I have seen some recaps. I will be watching the finale.

  12. When Calls the Heart’ Season 8 Episode 12 Promo Trailer: Elizabeth Makes a Choice

Elizabeth and her best friend; Rosemary (Pascale Hutton).

“I take it you haven’t talked to Lucas yet,” she says. “Or Nathan.”

    “Not yet,” Elizabeth replies.

    Elizabeth removes her wedding ring

“Love … can’t be demanded, it can’t be forced,” he tells her. “I want you to find your true love. And in order to do that, I want, I need, to set you free.”

Does that mean Elizabeth is destined to be with another Mountie? Perhaps, but the preview seems designed to keep fans guessing until the end. First, we see Elizabeth approach Nathan at his office, though all we hear of their conversation is them say “hi” to each other.

Rosemary tells Elizabeth it’s time to decide

Interestingly, we see Lucas when Rosemary speaks of a season and Nathan when she speaks of a lifetime. Is that a not-so-subtle clue about which man wins Elizabeth’s heart, or just a bit of misdirection?
