The Cat's Out of the Bag... Changes to Hallmark's *Christmas in July* Movie Schedule + Christmas this Week!

Credit: ©2018 Crown Media United States LLC/Photographer: Brian Douglas

I can hardly believe "Christmas in July" begins next week on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Monday, June 29th! I'm so ready - I can almost hear those jingle bells ringing!

Today, I just wanted to give you all a heads up - that a few Christmas movies have been switched around or added to the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Channel schedule, including: Christmas Everlasting, A Christmas Duet, Reunited at Christmas, A Gingerbread Romance, Holiday Date, Christmas in Evergreen: Tidings of Joy and more...

Check the Christmas Movie Schedule *HERE* to see when your favorites are airing!

In the meantime, I know there are plans in-the-works for filming Christmas movies with many of our favorite Hallmark stars, including Candace Cameron Bure, who will be filming hers soon, after they finish the "Aurora Teagarden" Mystery movie they were filming before the virus. Candace shared this bit of exciting news on Instagram, but that's all she could share - for now!

As we await "Christmas in July" next week, we still have three wonderful Christmas movies to watch this week...

🌟🌟🌟

Hallmark Drama's
"Home for the Holidays"
Wednesday Theater
classic Christmas movie feature is...
"The Christmas Pageant"
on Wednesday, June 24th at 9pm/8c..

Credit: Hallmark Crown Media

Storyline via Hallmark: When Vera Parks (Gilbert), an overly intense and demanding Broadway director gets fired from yet another job, leaving her no choice but to take a gig directing a small town Christmas pageant in upstate New York. Stunned at how basic the production is, Vera attempts to back out, but is convinced by some of the locals to give their town a chance. To her surprise, the warmth and charm of the small town grows on Vera and she even enjoys the experience of directing the pageant.

When Vera discovers her former fiancΓ© Jack (Mailhouse) recommended her for the job, she is outraged. But over time Vera appreciates the gesture, as she grows close to both Jack and his young daughter (Wynn).

To her surprise, Vera learns a lot about herself and comes to enjoy the experience of directing the pageant. After rekindling an old flame and directing a fantastic production, Vera discovers life's unexpected turns can lead to wonderful new beginnings.

Will love stay in the wings this time around? Or is this Vera's eleven o'clock number after all?

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
"Miracles of Christmas"
Thursday Theater
classic Christmas movie feature is
"A Homecoming for the Holidays"
on Thursday, June 25th at 9pm/8c.

Credit: ©2019 Crown Media United States

Storyline via Hallmark: When singer/songwriter Charlotte meets Matt she’s entertaining the troops, and he’s starting his third tour. Charlotte’s brother Eric is deploying too, and she’s off to ignite her career. Fast forward three years and three albums later, and Charlotte is home for Christmas, Eric announces plans to reenlist, and Matt, turned civilian, is working for Operation Homefront. Everyone enjoys being together, especially Matt and Charlotte, whose romance is aflame. But when she’s asked on a Christmas Special in Nashville on the 23rd, she’s torn. Hopefully Matt and Charlotte’s love can survive, especially when a photo of Charlotte and her ex surfaces.

🌟🌟🌟

Hallmark Channel's
"Countdown to Christmas"
Friday Theater
classic Christmas movie feature is
"A Royal Christmas"
on Friday, June 26th at 8pm/7c.

Storyline via Hallmark: A Royal Christmas centers on a young girl who, after accepting her boyfriend’s proposal, learns he is a prince. She must then gain the acceptance of his mother, who looks down on her humble origins.

As the only daughter of an expert tailor in Philadelphia, Emily Corrigan (Chabert) is a kindhearted young woman proud of her blue-collar background. She is a devoted seamstress at the family business and madly in love with her doting European boyfriend, Leo (Stephen Hagan). But as their first Christmas together approaches, Leo drops a bombshell on his unsuspecting girlfriend: he is actually Prince Leopold, heir to the throne of Cordinia, a small sovereign country. Emily is in shock, but her love for Leo trumps her hesitation about his double life and they quickly fly to Cordinia to announce their engagement and spend the holidays with Leo’s disapproving mother, Queen Isadora (Seymour).

Less than enthusiastic about her son’s relationship with a commoner, Isadora makes Emily feel anything but welcome at their grand castle, leaving Emily to feel more at home among Isadora’s staff of butlers and housemaids. As Emily struggles to adapt to her new royal surroundings, the situation is made more difficult when a scheming Isadora invites Duchess Natasha (Flynn), Leo’s ex-girlfriend, to join them for Christmas. Emily sees that Natasha is a perfect match for Leo and worries she’ll never measure up to Isadora’s standards. Attempting to stay true to herself in a world where she clearly doesn’t belong, Emily wonders if love is enough to keep her newly royal relationship from falling apart before Christmas morning.

I hope you enjoy all three Christmas movies - airing on all three Hallmark networks!

My Christmas Movie Pick of the Week:

ALL THREE!

I love the Nativity Play in "The Christmas Pageant" and the singing of Ave Maria. Absolutely beautiful!

As we look forward to the 4th of July, this is the perfect time to watch "A Homecoming for the Holidays," since it is such a wonderful patriotic film. Laura Osnes' lovely voice is amazing throughout the movie... I always love to hear her sing!

(By the way, I added a video clip of Laura Osnes singing "Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful" with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir - below! Scroll down to watch!)

I will be *Marking the 25th* day of the month by watching "A Homecoming for the Holidays!" Will you be watching this, too, or something else Christmassy to "Mark the Day?"

((Do you want to "Mark the 25th" with us, too? You can also join along! Here at "It's a Wonderful Movie" we highlight every 25th day of the month - TOGETHER! - as we countdown to Christmas! For all of you Christmas movie fans who wish to participate, simply pick something Christmassy to watch on the 25th! It can be a Christmas movie, cartoon, family sitcom or anything you like. (There's only one stipulation - it must be family friendly.) Then, please share in comments below your Christmas choice for the day!))

The last Hallmark Christmas movie of this week, is Lacey Chabert in "A Royal Christmas!" Lacey is definitely the Princess of Hallmark movies! What a delight her sweet spirit is in this one! I love watching her city girl character take on the challenge of life in a palace with royalty. The fairytale happy ending is perfection!

Do YOU have a special TOP Christmas Movie Pick of the week or fun Christmas choice to *Mark the 25th*? If so, please share in comments below...

Joyous Blessings to You All, Net

  1. I too will be watching A Homecoming for the Holidays on the 25th. I have been a Laura Osnes fan for a number of years now. Anybody who loves her singing voice should try to see her Christmas performance with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir from a few years ago. (It is available on dvd.) Her renditions of both sacred and secular songs are wonderful!

I thought you might choose that movie, too! I remember you sharing your enjoyment of Laura Osnes singing. She is truly incredible!

I found a video clip of her Mormon Tabernacle Choir appearance on YouTube. She sings such a lovely version of "Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful!" I loved it so much - I added the video above! Enjoy Everyone!!! :)

Thank you so much for sharing, Mark!

    1. My friend Sherry shared this news with me on Twitter and my Sister sent me an email with this news! I'm so excited to see Paul Campbell and Kimberley Sustad filming together again! They were great in "A Godwink Christmas," but I hope we get to see more of their comedic side in this one!

  3. Stephanie Bennett & Marco Grazzini are CHRISTMAS FORGIVENESS’ leads. Bennett plays widow spending Christmas with estranged dad, who then falls in love with a local restaurant owner. Both have been in Hallmark movies before, but never as leads.

    1. kitkat, we sure do! We most definitely need all the comfort, joy, and peace Christmas brings... we need, more than ever, all the feels!!!

By the way, if it makes you feel any better, Hallmark Drama is not airing Christmas movies during Christmas in July, so you won't be missing anything Christmas related there - at this time.

Enjoy watching "A Homecoming For The Holidays!" :)

  6. Harvest of the Heart began its 16-day shoot on May 27th. The romance starring Bennett & Alix Angelis was made small, designed to sell to an outlet such as Hallmark Channel or Lifetime.

I hope this is for Fall Harvest movies to air on Hallmark

  7. First let me say that I am so happy to hear that Hallmark is or soon going to be filming!!!

Let me just say that I LOVE all Hallmark Christmas movies!!! Since my birthday is on Christmas day so it is also my very favorite holiday!! I think a couple on the top of my list are "Christmas with Holly" (2012) and from last year "A Veteran's Christmas" which is interesting because they both star Sean Faris and Eloise Mumford!!! Oh and I just watched "A Veteran's Christmas" two nights ago! I'd love to see more with them Christmas or otherwise!!!

    1. How sweet, Janet! My Uncle's Birthday is on Christmas day, too, so I know how special that is to share your Birthday with Jesus! What a joyous time!

I, too, absolutely love the two movies you mentioned, "Christmas with Holly" and "A Veteran's Christmas!" They are two of my faves! Would love-love-love to see more of Sean Faris and Eloise Mumford, too!

  11. Will be very interested to see how the pairing of Alicia Witt and Andrew Walker turns out.

Our Christmas Love Song with Alicia Witt was one of my favourite movies last Christmas.

    1. Our Christmas Love Song was one of my favorites too! It is surprising actually because I'm not a huge fan of Alicia Wit (no offense intended). But there is great chemistry and good music so I quite enjoyed self.
I LOVE Andrew Walker (how could you not?) so I'm hopeful that he and Alicia will make a good pair (he seems to shine no matter who he's paired with!).

  16. Bummed I missed the movie with Melissa Gilbert. I have only seen it once but apparently Spectrum finally added Hallmark Drama after 2 1/2 years of asking. (at least in my area) Just found the channel today after being in the hospital this week.

    1. Hello Becky! Hope you are feeling better after being in the hospital. I'm sure it's nice to be home.

That's so great you finally have Hallmark Drama! Hopefully - they'll do Christmas again this year and you'll be able to see some past favorites! I currently love The Waltons on there and some of the old movies that haven't aired on the regular Hallmark Channel for awhile.

      Take care, honey!

      Delete
    2. I'm in the same boat as you (except no hospital for me!). Finally receiving Hallmark Drama on Spectrum, finding it just a day late to see Pageant, and disappointed that the channel does not participate in Christmas in July. But I'm pleased to see that it offers Dr. Quinn for several hours each weekday morning. Also looking forward to the 3 movies based on Beverly Lewis' books of Amish fiction, coming up in July.

Check out the Hallmark Drama website to see all their offerings: https://www.hallmarkdrama.com/

    3. Hi Laura! How wonderful to hear you now have Hallmark Drama too! That's great! I also love The Waltons on there and Little House on the Prairie!

By the way, speaking of Little House, I love your name! I always wanted to be Laura Ingalls when I was growing up. My sister and I couldn't wait to watch the reruns every day after school.
