I thought this movie would be for Lifetime when I saw about this. Thanks for the heads up! I thought there were only 4 movies?
ReplyDeleteMisty
Yes, Hallmark originally said there would be FOUR new movies for June, but surprise!, here's a FIFTH one, which wasn't even mentioned in the June Weddings preview!
DeleteIn spite of that, though, I'm delighted to see "Yes I Do" on Hallmark. And, don't they look amazing? Jen makes an absolutely beautiful bride and Marcus is definitely giving me that James Bond vibe, especially in the tux with the black helicopter in the background!
Blessings, Net
I have heard them say a few times on Hallmark and wondered if it was a clue, that there would be new movies every weekend in June for June Weddings, so I wondered if they were adding this or Wedding of Dreams since there are 5 weekends in June. I think Kavan and Pascale even said new movies every weekend in June and then said 4 movies or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI like how Hallmark completely surprises us with new movies that we didn't know about sometimes! If there is an "always a bridesmaid, never a bride..." saying for men, it should be said to Marcus Rosner. He has been the jilted boyfriend sooooo many times! I'm happy that Jessica Lowndes is also in the movie but I like it when she is the lead, not a supporting role. But I like Jen Lilley, too, so it will be double the leading lady fun, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too, Amy! I love surprises! I was aware this movie was being filmed, but was waiting and hoping it would be for Hallmark. I was so happy to see and share now- that it is! It sure looks like Marcus "gets the girl" this time, but from the storyline given, it sure doesn't sound easy! Poor guy! ;)
DeleteLooking forward to this one. Does Marcus Rosner finally get the girl in a Hallmark movie? LOL
ReplyDeleteSo true, Jill! He's been the ex-boyfriend more times than I can count! He did fall in love in the second Vineyard movie, but that is definitely a rarity for him! Hopefully, there will be more love stories ahead for Marcus... he makes such a nice leading man! :)
DeleteAwwww, look, Net, there's our Marcus once again and with a lovely leading lady and I know I'm glad for it!! He's so versatile in all his roles and I'm becoming very fond of him! Wonder if he might vacation in Hope Valley once again next season ????
ReplyDeleteHope he doesn’t show up in Hope Valley. I know Jack is gone but Charles is not for Elizabeth - but I probably won’t be watching anyway. No Dan/Jack - no WCTH for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is the worst Hallmark movie I have ever seen. Script is terrible. We love Hallmark, but by the end we were laughing at the twists and turns it was so bad.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I wasn't super thrilled watching it in the beginning after reading the synopsis. The story wasn't super believable in the beginning BUT the amazing Jen Lilley truly did it for me and made it believable. I loved Marcus Rosner here too... he should be in more Hallmark movies as a lead, not just second lead like previously! This movie turned out to be quite charming, funny and entertaining.
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting reading the comments how some people really hate this or love this. I did have a problem with the story line in the beginning. Story-wise, she truly didn't seem to deserve this perfect and super patient man. I came into watching this with low expectation. It turned out to be pretty cute, with some funny moments. Yes the story is very unrealistic and that probably was the biggest problem, but then so are a lot of Hallmark movies. Overall, it was enjoyable to me although not something I would watch again.
DeleteBarely could make it through this one and some terrible acting and plot. Hope the next one better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anonymous and Unknown about this movie. Yes, I Do is not only the worst Hallmark movie I've seen this year (so far), it is also one of the worst Hallmark movies I've ever seen. It was so bad, I chose to fast forward through a few moments of the movie just to get through it. The plot/story was very ridiculous for my liking and the protagonist wasn't very likable of a character. Also, the part about Charlotte's chocolate allergy was so poorly written, it came across as unrealistic.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised some people hated this so much. I think it may be my favorite Hallmark movie of 2018. Very funny and interesting plot. I never got even partially bored. Guess opinions really do vary!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I actually found this very refreshing! I watched it 3 days in a row too! It is interesting how wide opinions vary! I now there are some that I love that others hate and vice versa! I'm glad you and I agree on this gem of a movie! :)
Delete*So funny (and poetic justice!) when Charlotte asks James if he still wants to marry her. He has the most adorable look on his face when he says, "I do..." and kisses her check before the kicker, "...don't." Her reaction is great, "I deserve that." But neither of them give up on the other. Love it!

Haha LB I loved that part also. I love Hallmark movies that make me laugh more than once in the movie and this was one of them that I laughed alot. The storyline acting chemistry and everything was done so well . I am so glad to see others enjoyed this as much as I did. To me Love at First Dance the worst June Weddings movie so surprised to see it was loved and this was not. Yes I Do was just great all around I hope to see Jen and Marcus in another movie.
DeleteDoes anyone know what the banner said on the helicopter at the end. We couldn't read it and I even paused the movie..
ReplyDeleteYes, I can tell you what the banner said on the helicopter. It said- She Did It!
DeleteHope that helps. Blessings, Net
I had the exact same question. It helped me… Thanks! ~Diana K.
DeleteThis is without a doubt the worst Hallmark movie I have ever seen. Actually I only saw about half of it. I too found myself fast forwarding through the movie. I certainly want be buying this DVD. The plot was so unrealistic. I can’t imagine any man sticking with this woman through three engagements.
ReplyDeleteCute movie! Where was it filmed?
ReplyDelete"Yes, I Do" agree, Laura J... it was cute, especially in the end! I'm not sure specifically where it was filmed, but it was somewhere in the Vancouver and British Columbia area.
DeleteIf you are interested in Hallmark film locations, you should definitely visit my friend Kerry's web-site: ivesceneitonhallmark.com. She is amazing at finding film locations!
I loved this movie!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought this movie was a great way to end June Weddings. This movie made me laugh great chemistry and hope to see them 2 in another movie together.I understood right away why he stayed with her after she left him at the altar twice. Haha still makes me laugh second time she left and how he brought that up later in the movie was just a great movie!!!!! They did great on this
There were parts of the movie I loved and parts I truly disliked. Jen Lilley and Marcus Rosner were wonderful and I enjoyed their chemistry.
ReplyDeleteYes, Hallmark plots stretch what is believable at times, but I think the true conflict could have been about what her marriage "allergy" was caused by and them working through it. The parts I hated were ones involving the way over the top stereotype of the scheming ex. The more witchy, spoiled or just plain awful the ex or sometime current spoiler love interest is the more I can dislike about a movie.
Someone mentioned Love at First Dance. I liked that movie a lot because of the leads and yes, because the spoiler fiancee was not a total scheming witch. Yes, she obsessed with the business and what her family wanted her to do. In the end, she found herself doing what she wanted to do. That is more rewarding for the viewer in my opinion.
What was the make and model of the car
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! That car is so cool in the movie... it's a 1966 Beaumont Convertible, black exterior, white interior. A "sweet ride," as they say in the movie!
DeleteI thought James (Marcus Rosner) looked really nice pulling up to the church in this classic car wearing his black and white tux.
Absolutely loved this movie! Does anyone know the name of her wedding dress?
ReplyDeleteIt is very beautiful isn't it?! I don't know the name or designer of the dress, but it is the same one worn in "Once Upon a Prince." Coincidentally, the friend's bridesmaid dress for wedding attempt number 1 in "Yes, I do" is also in "Once Upon a Prince" as the dress she wears to the coronation. Just a fun factoid. :) I too loved this movie! What a joy to watch (over and over again!)!

I can understand why some people hate this show.
ReplyDeletea. What kind of man tolerates being stood up so many times and how does any woman still respect that kind of man? Sure people get stood up but to be willing to be stood up over and over again?
b. It is not a good portrayal of women that not one but two women would get so bunny boiling pyscho over a man. There are other men in the world ladies.
c. How is James still speaking to her after it is entirely her fault that he did not get to the car auction given the car was so sentimental to him and finally Oscar saved the day for Charlotte. Again, not her rescuing herself. Our heroine is completely reliant on other people to save her.
d. Charlotte would be completely lost and would like crippled in bed unable to move if not for her best friend Hannah. Nobody likes a heroine who is so spineless.
e. Whomever has a phobia for getting married doesn't want to marry whomever they are having a wedding phobia with. Even if she managed to persuade James, I think a lot of the audience remains unconvinced.
Basically the 2 main protaganists and the ex are not likeable personalities who can be respected.
And if you're a guy, I am sure most of you feel like Charlotte is super high maintenance and wayyy too much trouble.
And what happens when she gives birth? Will she bolt and leave you with the baby?
I love this actress and actor but they are just not likeable characters who can be respected.
But hey, this show is worth watching just to see James in his black tux pulling up in his grandfather's car :)
Completely agree. Also thought it was unrealistic that the leading lady “couldn’t get out of bed” in time for a very important business meeting with the publisher of the biggest magazine in her industry. No way her work reputation could take a hit like that, with no reasonable excuse. Totally silly plot & details.
DeleteRewatched this cute movie today. -Maria
