Kellie Pickler to star in Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie - at Graceland!

USA TODAY has revealed that Kellie Pickler, American Idol alum, country singer, and co-host of the talk show Pickler & Ben - will star in "Christmas At Graceland," an all new Hallmark Channel Original Countdown to Christmas Movie!

photo: Kellie Pickler Website

The storyline reported by USA Today: Pickler will portray Laurel, an "executive from Chicago who heads to Memphis with hopes of nabbing an old family-owned bank. Laurel's ex, Clay, who promotes local musical acts has bigger aspirations. Despite, Laurel's steadfast focus, she's reminded by Clay of their time as performers who were once on the cusp of fame. With what we presume will include a little holiday magic, Laurel shifts her focus to music once again."

"Christmas At Graceland" will film at Elvis Presley's former home in Tennessee, according to USA Today, and will, of course, include Elvis Presley music!

My Take:

Oh, "I'm all Shook Up"!

We first learned Kellie Pickler was doing a Christmas movie earlier this year. It is exciting now to have a title and a basic idea of the storyline. "I Can't Help Falling in Love" with the plans for this upcoming Christmas movie! Kellie Pickler is just as sweet and charming as she can be; I can only imagine this movie will be just as delightful to see! I do hope she wears her "Red High Heels".

Can't you just hear Elvis singing softly in the background... "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me?"

Please share your thoughts on this movie below and your favorite Elvis song! I've always loved "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," and his version of "How Great Thou Art."

UPDATE: Kellie's co-star is Wes Brown ("Christmas Cookies").

Blessings! Net

    1. Oh, cute, CJ... you're welcome... you're welcome very much! Elvis certainly had nearly every genre of music covered - from Rock, Country, and Gospel. He could sing it all, and now I can only imagine the King of music is singing to the King of all Kings in glory!

  4. I love your favorite Elvis picks, Net, but the "Hawaiian Wedding Song and I believe" were two of my most favorite songs from "the King"!! How wonderful Kellie is doing a film for Hallmark and I hope she will join "The Family"! She's adorable and can dance, too. I hear she won the Mirror Ball Trophy on DWTS a while back. You are so right- Kellie Pickler can dance, too! She's a triple threat, as they say. She can sing, act, and dance... plus, she can host, too, and probably juggle, as well! ha!ha! :) I can't wait along with you - to see this one!!!

  5. Thanks for all your fun, informative Hallmark news, as always! Was there a posting about the Winter TCA? I saw one that had lots of beautiful photos of stars from January, but other than "Chesapeake Shores" news, the rest was all about the HMM channel. You have made a couple of references to TCA news, like this with Kellie Pickler, that I feel like I missed (and I hate to miss anything!) :) Thanks!!!!

  7. Hi Net,

I am a big Elvis fan and play his music a lot! Can't wait to see this movie! Favorite songs? Wow, so many...I love all of his '50's rock n' roll hits, but my favorite song is probably "If I Can Dream" from his '68 comeback special. Favorite Christmas song? I'll say it's a tie between "Santa Claus is Back in Town" and "Santa Bring My Baby Back to Me".

Okay, now you've got me singing in my (terrible) Elvis voice "Everybody in the whole cell block...was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock..."!

Keep on singing... but don't step on my "Blue Suede Shoes"!!! :)

    2. You should be able to find a clip of him singing this song from his TV special on the internet. It's a powerful song about dreaming of a better world...a message that has never gone out of style! I'd love to know what you think of the song after you hear it!

    3. I watched it on You Tube... (chills!) it is such a beautiful song, Mark. There's even a duet of Elvis singing the song, "If I Can Dream" with Celine Dion on American Idol, which is absolutely incredible! Two amazing voices singing each verse with such a powerful message! Thank you for sharing this amazing, inspiring song!!!

  11. I can’t wait for this movie!!

My dad loved Elvis as a kid and when my sister and I were growing up, he would sing “Are you lonesome tonight?” to us before we went to bed at night. We loved it so much! I guess it’s not an original Elvis song, but the Elvis version (sung by my dad) will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️
