If you watch any of these new movies above, please stop back by and share your thoughts! We would love to hear from you!
Hi Net,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how much I appreciate you taking the time & effort to keep us posted on the movies. We love the Christmas movies. I set up the pictures, to record, what my husband & I want to watch. We have been enjoying a Christmas movie every night since the end of Oct. and will continue to see some of them after the New Year.
May God continue to bless you and pray you & yours will have a very Merry Christmas and the new year will be great, too.
Sincerely,
Bonnie English
Oh, thank you, Bonnie!!! What a sweet, thoughtful message!!! I'm overjoyed that I can be of help to you & your husband throughout the busy Christmas season!
DeleteLike you, I'm enjoying lots of Christmas movies daily, especially some of the old treasures... and I'm recording as much as possible, too - that we will enjoy watching come the New Year! Just like you! It's especially wonderful to have them, when the networks stop playing the Christmas movies. I feel like a squirrel storing up my nuts for winter!!! LOL!!!!!
Thank you, again, for sharing with us, Bonnie!
God's Blessings to you and yours!!!!
And, a Very Merry Christmas, too, dear!!! Net :)
I want to see everything. If only they weren't all on at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI really think that the slate of movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has been head and shoulders above the original Hallmark Channel. I've really like quite a few on the Movies & Mysteries channel but only one on the original channel.
ReplyDeleteThanks again Net for sharing with us. There are so many good movies on this weekend.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Michelle.
ReplyDeleteEven back in the fall The Irresistibe Blueberry Farm led the way and so far the Christmas offerings are definitely a notch above the ones on the main channel.
I found Finding Father Christmas was enthralling.
Looking forward to watching Heaven Sent!

Absolutely agree wtih Michelle and Anonymous re HMM. Loved Finding Father Christmas so much ordered the book and am very much enjoying it. This year, for me, I am finding HM Christmas movies with a common theme--the hard driven woman executive type, not too likeable, but redeemable. It's a little hard to relate to these woman, whereas in prior years, there were more "average" (for lack of a better word) characters. We had Rachel Boston play a dishwasher in Ice Sculpture Christmas and Danica McKeller was a maid in Crown for Christmas. I find characters who do not have executive level positions much more interesting and you really do root for them to find happiness with their "Prince Charming." Hopefullly, HM will return to characters like these in their Christmas movies. Just a thought. :) Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI think you've hit the proverbial nail right on the head, Barbara! I've been trying to pinpoint why exactly the HMM movies have been a cut above the regular HM ones, and your comment made me realize the executive thing is true for me as well. I just don't find the corporate world very interesting or relatable. Though I've enjoyed all of them so far to a degree, the only movie on the regular HM channel that I've considered to be equal to the HMM movies in story quality is "Journey Back to Christmas." It's a wonderful, magical story, different and fresh, and has nothing to do with the corporate world.
DeleteAnd Journey Back to Christmas only aired once on the main Hallmark Channel before moving over the HMM! Hallmark is definitely pushing their second channel this year with more high-profile actors and productions values.
DeleteI was thinking about the HMM thing this week too, actually in the context of reading a book one of the main channel movies was based on and realizing how much it has been watered down, and my first thought was that the book would have made a great HMM movie. Then I realized that in HMM they just allowed themselves touch deeper and more complex subjects, and that also allowed for more emotional depth in those movies, which I think is what makes the difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm on this post because I am finally watching Hearts of Christmas and I'm shedding buckets of tears, but basically almost all my favorite Hallmark movies this year were on HMM - I absolutely loved Finding Father Christmas, also.
