Hello Friends!
Are you ready to take a ride this weekend with Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley in their new Hallmark Channel movie, An Unexpected Valentine? This is Hallmark's first Loveuary movie premiere for 2025, and what better day to premiere it than on the first day of February!
The Hallmark Channel also has a special treat with this premiere - a full day of Lacey Chabert Hallmark movies, including All of My Heart, The Wedding Veil, My Secret Valentine, and more!
Unfortunately, Great American Family will not have a new movie premiere Saturday night; however, the network is playing their classic rom-com movies all day Saturday and Sunday, and a block of Winter-themed movies will air Saturday evening, including Winter Wedding, Fall Into Winter, and The Winter Palace.
UPtv will also have classic movies airing all weekend long, with a new episode of Heartland on Sunday night. In this episode, Amy must deal with her daughter Lyndy's sudden fear of horses.
The Hallmark Channel will finish off the weekend Sunday night with a brand new episode of When Calls the Heart, which finds Mountie Nathan Grant going undercover in James Bond fashion style. The 1920s, also known as the "Roaring Twenties," was a time known as the era of prohibition, so Nathan may likely find himself at a speakeasy surrounded by potential suspects. Will he be successful at uncovering clues to the elusive train robbery mystery? Only time will tell.

Episode 5 - Mom's the Word
Elizabeth develops a new method of teaching. Nathan goes undercover. A familiar face (Fiona!) returns to Hope Valley with an unlucky heiress in tow. Lucas and Lee face their differences.
I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.
I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific aviation accident that occurred this week. It is profoundly sorrowful to observe the victims of this devastating event on our televisions and social media platforms. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members and friends who mourn their passing.
For those of you who wish to step away from the heaviness of the news, I hope the movies and shows I have mentioned in this post will bring some levity to your weekend.
I am eagerly anticipating the release of Lacey's new Valentine movie Saturday night, An Unexpected Valentine. She and Robert Buckley seem like such a fun pairing. The chemistry between her and Robert Buckley in the promo alone is quite enjoyable! He has consistently excelled at infusing humor into the romantic comedy genre, in contrast to many romantic comedies that tend to focus more on romance than on comedic elements. So, I am optimistic that this will be a fun one!
I'm also very much looking forward to this all-new episode of When Calls the Heart! Whenever Rosemary, Bill, and Nathan are involved in a mystery, it instantly elevates the level of intrigue for me! Plus, Nathan looks mighty handsome going undercover. Am I right, ladies???
Please Note: I have not pre-screened the new film set to premiere this weekend. If you wish to provide a review regarding the family-friendliness of this movie, kindly share your thoughts in the comments section below. Thank you in advance to everyone who shares with us.

Only watching the new movie. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, I hope you enjoy the new Valentine movie! I look forward to hearing your thoughts. :)
DeleteNathan Grant goes undercover in James Bond styles - James Bond vibes
ReplyDeleteRosemary, Bill, Nathan, & Elizabeth involved mysteries to solve the cases together too
ReplyDeleteI love all those movies in the Lacey marathon. I will for sure be tuning in to her new one this weekend! The only one I haven’t had a chance to see was “matchmaker Santa”, it was free for a long time on my On Demand when I had Comcast and now I have Direct Tv and haven’t found it available to watch π I didn’t see it anywhere during Christmas either! I am happy for the distraction with these new movies; the news is really heavy right now Net. I have been trying to stay up to date on all the Trump changes going into place. It’s exciting but so much is happening each day and it can be draining as well so I’m trying not to go down the rabbit hole with all the articles Iv been reading. Have a blessed weekend everyone!
ReplyDelete~Paula
Paula, Glad you're watching the Lacey Chabert marathon, too! I'm actually watching The Wedding Veil movie right now. I really love those and the tight friendship between the three women.
DeleteI caught "Matchmaker Santa" only on the PixL channel during Christmastime. I don't believe Hallmark plays it anymore, unless I missed it on Hallmark Family possibly??? That one is such a cute movie! I'm really surprised Hallmark doesn't air it a lot since it stars Lacey and all.
On a different note, yeah the news is so heavy right now. I was watching for awhile last night trying to make sense of it all. It's hard to know what to think with two incidents happening so close together. Praying for those in charge now, especially poor Secretary Sean Duffy who has only been on the job for 4 or 5 days now. I know he's a deeply religious family man, so these tragedies must be weighing heavy on him. Many prayers going up!
Take care, honey, and enjoy the weekend with your family. Blessings to you! :)
I gotta say it… Nathan looks sooo dashing in that suit! Can’t wait. Since the title is Mom’s the Word, my guess is Allie will be staying with Elizabeth since Nathan’s undercover.
ReplyDeleteAbigail, Girrrl, you said it! He certainly is dashing! That's the perfect word for him. Happy watching Sunday night!!! :)
DeleteLooking forward to the new movie.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture edit this weekend, Net! I look forward to seeing what you do every week. You really nailed those James Bond vibes for Nathan, and I like the way your scripture ties in.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it was sad to hear about the plane accident this week and the one last night. I’m praying for all involved.
Allie B, Thank you for your sweet comment. I'm glad to hear you enjoy my weekly posts & updates! :)
DeleteYes, the plane accidents were so sad to hear. I'm praying with you.
Wow! It’s hard to believe we’ve(as a country) have had another plane crash. I’ve heard this plane was smaller carrying only 6 people, but it landed in a public area. My dad told me this morning it landed on townhomes. Praying for everyone hurt by this and for comfort for the families as well as the previous crash. Praying for anyone here too that might have been near. Hopefully you are all safe!
ReplyDeleteI was watching The Price is Right at Night but they cut to Special News as they cut to Raid the Cage
ReplyDeleteIt’s about an airplane that carry 64 passengers on board & military black hawk helicopter crash into Potomac River in Washington DC
When I saw on FB - it’s about figure skaters -The Skating Club from Boston on their way to Kansas to competition? It’s young figure skaters - kids & teenagers with their coaches & parents
An Unexpected Valentine is safe, and very charming! (Anthony Timpano and Viv Leacock are in this movie too). -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Thank you for being the first to share that "An Unexpected Valentine" is family-friendly! I know many here were grateful to hear this news! :)
DeleteAlso, so fun to hear about those cameos!!! I love Viv Leacock as Pastor Joseph on WCTH, but it's always nice to see him in other roles too.
And Anthony Timpano is such a great actor. I think he would be excellent in a lead role. His performance as a soldier in "My Christmas Hero" dealing with PTSD has always stuck with me. It is emotional and powerful.
Thank you again, Maria, for sharing with us! :)
This was a wonderful episode of WCTH! So many special scenes!
ReplyDeleteThe mother/daughter moment brought tears to my eyes. Before we see an engagement ring we need to see relationships grow in the children with their future parents and they did this perfect with Elizabeth giving Allie advice and love that a mother would. Allowing Allie to call Mrs. Thornton Elizabeth was so sweet and we all know when a proposal is made it will be very clear that Elizabeth will be momma/mom to both kids. What a precious scene.
As sad as it was to see Allie heartbroken, I’m glad that Wyatt is out. No more possibly of another triangle. Oliver is a winner anyway!
I loved watching Joesph and Mike set up Lee and Lucas(which is kinda what Lee did with Carson and the peddler). It was nice seeing them come together and forgive each other. They both looked so happy when they entered the Hotel.
Oh My!!!!! Wasn’t Nathan so fantastic or what!!! He rocked his undercover role posing as Danny DeMarco. It was so funny Rosemary and Bill instructing him.
This new mystery guest Ava. I think she is up to no good. It all seems to suspicious to me. To much of a coincidence to believe that she’s exactly like Elizabeth and heiress losing her trunk and wanting to be a teacher, but Allie clearly got the impression she (Ava) didn’t find teaching enjoyable. So that was a falsehood. And now she’s abusing her time at the Hotel. Poor Hickam. My guess is she’s a con woman and the Trudy the gambler was talking about.
It was great seeing Fiona come back. I’m glad they’ve had her show up as a surprise for these two seasons. Hopefully all will work out for her and she’ll find something fulfilling and meaningful in Hope Valley. She should not have to marry that man if she doesn’t love him.
This episode did have a line in it that said Follow your Heart. Every time I hear that said, I think of Jeremiah 17. A wonderful chapter of trusting in the Lord and not your heart because your heart can be deceived and as quoted, “The heart is deceitful in all things, who can understand it?”
But , I think I know why they changed the date to Saturday this coming week. The Super Bowl. I don’t watch TV sports, except Olympics and I wouldn’t watch it on the Lord’s day anyway, but since most of America does that could be a very good reason for switching.
Abigail, I so enjoyed reading your breakdown of the latest WCTH! My family and I were saying how amazing it was that they fit so many stories in such a short amount of time.
DeleteI also loved how Pastor Joseph and Hickam meddled (in Fiona's honor) with the Lee and Lucas feud. It was especially nice how Joseph said, "Sometimes you gotta get lost so He (pointing to the heavens) can lead us back home."
As for Fiona, I also hope she doesn't agree to marry someone she doesn't love. I used to hope she'd end up with Lucas, but I don't think she'll stick around long enough to end up with anyone from Hope Valley. It was such a joy to see her again... I especially loved the group hug with her besties... Faith and Mei.
And, yeah, that Ava is surely going to be trouble. Haven't figured her out quite yet. Could she have a connection to the robbery?
Yeeessss, the scenes with Nathan, Rosemary, and Bill were sooo fun! I only wish Bill and Rosemary could've ended up at the card game. Oh well, it was such a cool scene, anyway.
And, oh my, that incredible ending with Elizabeth and Allie. I think we were all in tears as Allie said if she were little Jack, she'd call her mama all the time. It was such a beautiful, heartwarming episode.
I so appreciate you sharing that beautiful scripture, Abigail. Jeremiah 17 is indeed a profoundly significant, meaningful chapter. God bless you!!!
I just wanted to leave a quick review of An Unexpected Valentine, which I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. I agree that it's family-friendly with one tiny caveat - during the pizza-making class the chef is talking about the importance of spicing up a relationship and there are two guys cooking together in the background nodding and agreeing with him. Could be innocent, but knowing Hallmark, it probably wasn't. I did have a few other issues with the movie, but just stupid stuff like them continually complaining about the Manhattan traffic that just wasn't there, him always able to park right in front of any place he was stopping at, and when it was raining and they were standing out in it for minutes having a conversation with a cop but no one gets the least bit wet. Like I said, nothing big, nothing affecting the story line, just a lack of attention to detail on the producer's part that really irks me.
ReplyDeleteSharon, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. You are so right... you never know the underlying meanings anymore. Glad you were able to enjoy in spite of these other things.
DeleteThat is interesting that it is raining but no one was wet. Wow! The wonder of movie magic.
Thank you again for sharing! :)
Sharon, I feel the same way about this movie. It was enjoyable, with some really good funny scenes, and Lacey and Robert had great chemistry together. But poor production - I too noticed that there was a definite lack of traffic in Manhattan, and how Robert was always able to park in front of the building where he needed to be (and the street was usually deserted)! Also, nighttime seemed to last forever, yet they were able to get to their events around their 9:30 timeframes. The other thing that bothered me was how easily it was for them to find whoever they were looking for! So, it's a fun watch...if you don't get bogged down in the details.
Delete“An Unexpected Valentine” - We liked this one. Lacey and Robert were adorable together. And, that fake “proposal” scene had me laughing out loud! Seriously Robert’s reaction was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. π I thought it dragged a bit in parts, but overall, it was sweet and clean.
ReplyDelete“When Calls the Heart” was sublime this week. I agree with Abigail. The scene between Elizabeth and Allie, on the front steps, was so deeply touching. My heart broke for Allie, and I felt her pain. I think everyone has experienced unrequited love at some point in their lives. I do hate to see Allie go through heartache but now she can move on and build a sweet relationship with Oliver who we all know will treat her with respect. Wyatt has no idea how to be respectful. And yes, Nathan was fantastic! James Bond vibes for sure. π It was so good to see Lee and Lucas reconcile. Yay!
I am not a fan of Ava already. It is too coincidental that her life aligned exactly to Elizabeth’s. I do not trust her at all. She is a schemer and someone who is only looking out for her best interest. The preview, for the special Saturday episode, was interesting. Looks like we may have a new love interest for Bill.
And, Abigail, my husband and I are not watching the Super Bowl either.
Joan, Wonderful to hear how much you liked “An Unexpected Valentine”! I keep hearing how funny it is, so I can't wait to watch!!!
DeleteThank you for your delightful review! :)
Also, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the latest WCTH episode. The Allie scene with Wyatt was heart wrenching, but I was glad he ripped the Band-Aid off fast, and it wasn't long and drawn out. That Oliver is such a sweetheart; I hope Allie realizes that sooner than later.
Should be interesting to welcome Melissa Gilbert in the upcoming new episode. The "Little House on the Prairie" fan in me is ecstatic!!! Wish she could be a lasting romantic-interest for Bill, but she's only supposed to be in two episodes. It seems all of the women Bill is interested in come and go so quickly.
KCC is always cheating at SB because they want to win. Dealing with the referee with Chiefs uniform. In flavor the Chiefs. The Viewers saw everything since last several years ago that they catch KCC cheating all the times.
DeleteThe viewers refused to watch SB
Hi Net,
DeleteYou are welcome! :-) And, I appreciate your kind words! I agree with what you said about Wyatt ripping the band-aid off fast. Oh, and darn it! I did not realize Melissa was only going to be in two episodes. :-( I too, am a huge "Little House on the Prairie" TV series. I also read several of the books the TV show was based on.
Hello everyone. I forgot to mention how sorry I was to hear about the deadly plane crash in the DC area. What a sad event. :-( My heart goes out to everyone who was impacted on both sides.
ReplyDeleteI’m watching An Unexpected Valentine, half way in and so far it’s very cute. And Joan, that proposal scene in the grocery store had me laughing too!
ReplyDeleteAn Unexpected Valentine is a delightful movie that will have you laughing out loud at times! The fake proposal was hilarious! It is family friendly with the exception of the pizza cooking class. Two guys cooking together and the talk about spicing things up I believe was in Hallmark fashion intentional "woke"! The story line is so different. Not someone going back to their hometown 15 years later and running into their old flame! That story line has been done "to death"! Lacy and Robert had great chemistry too. Also has a couple of cameos with Anthony Tinpano and Viv Leacock. I do love the cameos that Hallmark surprises us with.
