With Valentine's Day soon approaching, this is the time to watch romantic comedies more than ever.
See the new and old rom-coms airing this weekend, along with classic mystery marathons, below...
Saturday, January 20, 2024:
Storyline: Cursed from childhood to fail at romance, Betty’s (Laci J. Mailey) relationships have always ended in disaster. But when she meets Alex (Marco Grazzini), she’s tempted to try once more. Can true love prevail over a curse?
CAUTION: This story includes a love curse that is attempted to be broken when Betty (the lead character) feels unlucky in love. I'm personally not a fan of movies that include stories that emphasize on evil dark forces. Please know that I'm not certain to what extent this will be shown in this film. You may want to take caution if you plan to watch this with young viewers.
Sunday, January 21, 2024:
Storyline: When a lowly assistant, who has secretly been writing love advice for her boss’s podcast, finds out her favorite journalist is a fan of the show, she’ll have to decide if love is worth risking her career for.

I hope you all have a nice weekend ahead. It's still bitter cold for us; in fact, it is -9 wind chill as I write this. Brrr!!! On a brighter note, we have warmer temperatures coming up in the forecast this coming week, and I hope it will be the same for many of you who are also currently experiencing these freezing temps.
Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies premiering this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether these films are family-friendly, please share in the comments below. Thank you so much to everyone who shares with us.
Keep warm this weekend, everyone.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."
That Hallmark movie looks soooo funny!
ReplyDeleteAlso will record that new UP TV movie (just don't know how quickly I'll watch it).
-Maria
Looks to me that The Love Advisor may be an ROE movie which UP has been holding back - hopefully they may have a few more - Florence
ReplyDeleteIt’s been bitterly cold for us too! I’m staying inside and watching mystery movies all weekend.
ReplyDeleteI already have the Hallmark one set to record, looks super cute! By the looks of it I’ll pass on the UpTv one unless I hear it’s really good….so many I just can’t get into unfortunately.

Net, yep, we've got those cold temperatures here too! In fact, tonight and tomorrow morning the regular temperature is going to be sub-0 and with the wind chill they are calling for sub-30! Sounds like a good night to watch a Christmas film! I just have to figure out which one.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the HC movie.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy Mark! Where do you live? Here in CA we are freezing in these low 40s high 50s days, we are just not used to any cold, but then we are melting when the 115 summer comes π

Hi Paula, I live in a suburb or Chicago. It turns out our wind chills didn't get as bad as they were originally calling for, but they were still well below zero. Now we've got freezing rain before a warm-up later this week!
DeleteBetty's Bad Luck in Love is hilarious, adorable, soooo romantic, clean (the 'curse' was all just mainly in her head), and possibly the best new movie of this month! -Maria
ReplyDeleteBetty’s bad luck in love not family friendly. In the beginning of the movie the main character was about middle school age. And one of her classmates put a hex on her because she was talking and eating Oreos with her crush. You could just think that it’s a silly school girl crush but her mother was a fortuneteller. It wasn’t my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteBetty's Bad Luck In Love *is* family friendly. It is disclosed that the friend's mother WAS NOT fortune teller. The girl made it up, as middle schoolers do.
ReplyDeleteAnd while Betty did visit a fortune teller later, it was obvious the fortune teller wasn't more than just a scammer, charging $149 + tax for nothing.
Betty's Bad Luck in Love – She was way too overly dramatic for me and I really didn’t like the curse stuff. I tried, but I just couldn’t get into it. Allie B
