  1. Thanks Net!! Looks like there’s a third filming soon in Ontario for The Jane Mysteries, titled Word Play! Has there been any news on GAC’s mysteries? Thought it was supposed to be announced weeks ago. So disappointing we are getting nothing from them.

    1. Yeah, the announcement was supposed to come a few weeks ago on the new Great American Family mystery. Hopefully, they will make the official announcement soon.

A spring movie is also in-the-works for GFAM and likely (hoping!) others.

And, yes, it appears there may be multiple Jane Mysteries coming our way. I'm seeing another movie title, different than what I shared above:
THE JANE MYSTERIES 2: A FALSE CONFESSION
(Perhaps, this was the original working title?)

      Plus, I'm also seeing...
THE JANE MYSTERIES 3 - TELLTALE HEART

      And one more...
JANE DA SILVA MYSTERY - WORD PLAY

I wonder if they plan to spread these out over the year or play them all in one month, like they did Garage Sale Mystery years ago?

Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Net

    2. Can't say I've a lot enthusiasm for this.

Much as I Like Stephen Huszar I found the original Jane movie decidedly average - there were other mysteries I would have much preferred to see further episodes of.

Still I suppose they must have gotten some positive feedback.

  2. Time flies - I remember when Jocelyn Hudon played a brief supporting role as a high school student in The Christmas Cure back in 2017, and now she's the lead in Romance With a Twist.

So now I'm wondering...can anybody recall anyone else who played a teen or younger in a Hallmark movie and has more recently played a leading role? I'm drawing a blank.

    1. Mark, Great question. I thought of Eva Bourne from the Garage Sale Mysteries series. She portrayed a teen in the beginning of those and starred in a movie for Hallmark's June Weddings last year.

Also, Jessy Schram portrayed the teen daughter of Lea Thompson in the Jane Doe Mysteries, and she's starred, of course, in numerous Hallmark movies. (BTW - I still adore Harvest Moon!)

    2. Don't forget the actress that played Becky on WCTH, she was also in One Christmas Eve. Now she is starring in Gilded Mysteries this weekend.

    3. Sabrina - That is an excellent addition to Mark's question!!! Oh my goodness... how did I not think of Ali Skovbye???

I'm so looking forward to her new mystery this week! I love the old-fashioned time period, and she looks like an excellent choice for this role. The promos are captivating!

Thank you, Sabrina, for sharing! :)

  3. I will for sure be recording the Hallmark one, looks cute. The Up TV one, I think I’ll pass…I mentioned during the holidays that Christopher Russell just doesn’t do it for me, I feel like I plays the same character over and over and just smiles the whole time….Lol something about him I just can’t get in to…. Also I just saw an UP TV movie last year that is very similar, The Attraction Test.
Have a blessed weekend everyone! We will be in Disneyland soaking up that almost 80 degree weather but we will stream the movie in our car during the drive.

    1. Paula, Oh, wow, 80 degrees!!! Our temps have gotten warmer, but nowhere close to that. The 40's is a heat wave this time of year for us. Soak up some sunshine for us and have a wonderful time with your family!!! :) Blessings, Net

    2. Overall, it was a good movie. A bit slow to start. They did some nice aerials during the show they were in--I think they saved all of that till the end and just did little things during the rest of the movie to keep the story going.

  9. BETTY’S BAD LUCK IN LOVE (hex/curse and fortune telling content implied, but not real)
I’m not sure about this. There were some good things about it, but the whole premise is quite ridiculous. Betty was extremely anxious and worried… it was way too much. I was cringing so much watching her followed/stalked the guys camping and stopped the rugby game… all because she was worried. I personally wouldn’t have fallen for Betty if I were Alex, with her many antics…ha! I have to say the chemistry was spot on though, and Marco Grazzini was WONDERFUL, I think he saved this movie for me. I also enjoyed the movie a bit more once the whole curse thing was out in the open between Alex and Betty. Great acting by both leads. It was a one time watch for me.

    ROMANCE WITH A TWIST (clean)
I liked this one. It was quite sweet and engaging through out the movie. I do have to say that the male lead (Bennett) was a little mean and snobbish, especially in the beginning. I know that was the personality they wanted to portray but…. goodness, poor Luna. It was a huge undertaking and what a pressure for her. Bennett did make it up a bit towards the end though. The aerial performance was SO beautiful! And the ending scene too.

  10. Hello everyone,

This past weekend's movie's were not my cup of tea. I tried watching both the Hallmark and the UP-TV movie but neither one held my interest. I watched most of the Hallmark movie but I only got through about fifteen minutes of the UP-TV movie. Holding out hope next week's movies are better.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful year so far. :-)

  11. We really enjoyed “Romance with a Twist,” and it was light-hearted and family-friendly. The male lead has a real circus acrobat background which makes the movie more believable. The aerial performances were fun to watch, but the movie was also about building trust, overcoming fears, and pursuing your dreams. Laurie

Hey Net! I noticed that HMM has stopped Christmas movies on Thursday nights in February according to their schedule. I believe they did the same thing last year for a while.
I also noticed they are advertising a mystery with Luke McFarlane. I don't feel good about it.....Do you have any news on that?
Thanks for all you do for us Net!!

    1. Joyce, Yeah, they did it again. I noticed the removal of Christmas movies in February when I did my last Christmas Schedule update. It is quite the bummer. I don't know why they start them, just to pull the rug out from beneath us.

Anyway, I thought at first they might be moving the Christmas movies to Saturday night, instead, since they are playing "Mystery on Mistletoe Lane" on Saturday, February 17th, but the next Saturday after that doesn't follow through with a Christmas movie. Who knows, though. It could be a test to see if the Christmas movie pulls in more viewers on a Saturday night, instead of Thursday.

As for Luke's new mystery, "CrimeTime: Freefall"... I've seen the promo and press pics, and thus far, it looks like another standard HMM mystery from what I can tell. The murder part does look rather gory in the commercial, though. Please let me know if you happen to see or hear anything.

Thank you, Joyce, for being such a great friend.
      Blessings to you! Net

  13. Jocelyn Houdon portrayed the daughter in the movie Love Locks with Jerry O'Connell and his wife Rebecca Romijn. I am not impressed with her acting skills. Unfortunately
