Hope you all enjoy this cool, delicious treat of Christmas Movies in July - during the oppressive Summer heat! We are finally seeing sunshine and blue skies today, and I'm loving it!!! It's been a long, long week of smokey skies from the Canadian wildfires, and I'm so happy the sky has cleared. Yesterday we had a thunderstorm and strong winds, and unfortunately, we lost our power for many hours. Sadly, I know many homes in the Midwest had severe damage, and my heart goes out to them. I pray clean-up will go well and safe for them. Thankfully, even though we had major hail go through our area, we have our electricity back today - just in time for the Christmas in July movies to begin!

ReplyDeleteSarah, That sounds yummy!!! What a fun way to watch Christmas in July!!! Enjoy!!! :)
DeleteThanks for the handy dandy schedules! Glad you got your power back on in time! :) -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Thank you! I was happy, too. It gets pretty hot without the AC. Our humidity is pretty intense today.
DeleteGlad you are enjoying the Christmas Schedule - Happy Christmas movie watching! :)
looking forward to Christmas in July
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! Enjoy watching all month long!!! :)
DeleteWatching "A Merry Christmas Wish" during GAF's Christmas in July and just saw a promo for "A Paris Christmas Waltz," which looks spectacular!!! :)
ReplyDeleteDid any of you see it, too???
Well... Surprise! Surprise! Great American Family just announced in an all-new commercial promo Danica McKellar's Christmas movie co-star, and it is... Damon Runyon!
ReplyDeleteThe two worked together previously in "Very, Very Valentine."
Damon's other acting credits include: "Love's Sweet Recipe," "Magical Christmas Shoes," "Valentine Ever After," "One Starry Christmas," and more!
This is great news Net! He is one of those actors that isn’t in as many movies as other actors on Hallmark. What a treat this will be!
Delete—Paula
I so enjoyed “One Starry Christmas”. Damon Runyon was one cowboy and a gentleman. Holly Jensen found her soulmate. Yeah! I can’t wait for the movie. - Gabe’s Mom
DeleteGabe's Mom, "One Starry Christmas" is always the first movie that comes to mind whenever I see Damon Runyan, too! I can always hear in my mind when Holly's mom says something like, "You brought a cowboy home for Christmas!" That is such a sweet one. :)
DeleteHappy Christmas in July!!! Net
Paula, I agree! Damon has starred in many great movies in the past, and hopefully, this is just the beginning with GAF! :)
DeleteHappy Christmas in July!!! Net
Hubby is teasing me that I will be in the craft room sewing Christmas items with the tv on GAF Christmas in July movie marathon. He thinks he will not see me until August. It truly is a wonderful movie time. ππ Everyone enjoy!
ReplyDelete-Gabe’s Mom
Gabe's Mom, How cute! I love that! Our TV has been stuck on Christmas in July, too! How I wish we could all live in that idyllic Christmas world 24/7!
DeleteHappy Christmas in July and 4th of July - tomorrow!!! :)
Blessings, Net
Yes, I watched A Merry Christmas wish as well (I wasn't about to miss the possibility of new promos!), and I absolutely loved the new trailers for Paris Christmas Waltz and A Royal Christmas Romance!! I've loved some of Damon's Hallmark movies, so he's definitely a good egg for this movie!
ReplyDeletePlus, did anyone catch the trailer for Dream Wedding AND the the October 20 start date for Great American Christmas? :) -Maria
Maria, Yes, that promo for Dream Wedding looks good! There are commercials for four movies now, Romance at the Vineyard, One Perfect Match, Key to Love, and Dream Wedding, which I assume all will air in August - since Romance at the Vineyard is leading the way on August 5th!
DeleteLet me know if you catch anything else! This is so fun looking for the Easter Eggs during Christmas in July!!! :)
Happy Christmas in July movie watching!!! Net
I have some Christmas movies to add to your schedule. I have not watched any of them, so I don’t know if they are family-friendly. The movies are all airing on Discovery Family. It looks they are trying to jump on the July Christmas movie bandwagon & showcase Christmas movie originals from the other networks that Discovery has. #1: “Candy-Coated Christmas” on Friday, 7/14 @ 10 PM EST and also on Sunday, 7/16/23 @ 12:00 AM, (originally airing on Food Network), 2: “A Christmas Stray” on Saturday 07/15 at 7 PM EST (originally airing on OWN), & 3: “First Christmas” on Saturday 07/15 @ 9 PM EST. I wish (if it is family-friendly) that they would air the HGTV movie I also missed. Discovery was smart to do this. With all of the activities that summer brings, I don’t think we need any other networks to add their movies. However, I think it’s interesting that some of the other networks don’t air any in July. I would love to see Lifetime air their older Christmas movies sometime like “Comfort & Joy” by Nancy McKeon. Also, I also wish Hallmark would air some of HMM’s patriotic Christmas movies on Independence Day, especially for those of us who don’t have HMM. Happy Movie Watching!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this Christmas movie find on Discovery Family with us! I have not seen any of these movies, either.
DeleteThe only one I have a review for is Candy-Coated Christmas...
π"I watched a movie called Candy Coated Christmas. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, in case you want to add it to this list of movies, that unfortunately due to one phrase, it is not family friendly. A younger girl is asking the main female character if she has any boyfriends back home. The main female character replies that she doesn't and explains why...to which the younger girl asks "Have you tried girls". There is no reply to this question...the topic totally changes. It's like this phrase has just been thrown in there to reach their quota or something. Otherwise, the rest of the movie is ok." ~Karen
Thought you might be interested in that review before watching.
I added the movies to the Christmas Schedule - so others will be able to check them out and decide if they'd like to watch.
I appreciate you taking the time to share with us. :)
Blessings & Happy Christmas in July! Net
Jim, So glad you are enjoying the glow of Christmas again! As soon as I tuned in to the first one, I just melted. There's something so warm, comforting, and special about it - that soothes the soul. I agree, it doesn't compare to the actual Christmas season, but this time is truly a special build up until then!!! Enjoy!!! :)

Bill Abbott sent out an Insider email tonight. Here's some info from it:
ReplyDelete-Potentially bringing back Home and Family was brought up, but given it's cost, and it's 5 day a week schedule, any hope of bringing it back, or starting any daytime talk show won't start until 2025.
-There will be a new Mystery movie airing on July 30 at 9
-There will also be some movies airing on Monday nights in August
-Maria
Maria, Yeeeessss!!!! Such exciting things coming to Great American Family! I received that email, too, and it's always fun to get some insight into what is potentially coming to GAF in the future.
DeleteI thought that was really interesting about the Monday night new movies - coming in August. Apparently, some of the new movies they acquired weren't exactly right for a Saturday night premiere, so they will air on Monday night instead.
Also, the new mystery movie is a response to some former "When Calls the Heart" fans who requested something else to watch on that particular Sunday night when WCTH's 10th Season premieres. That's why July 30th was chosen for this mystery premiere night.
Bill also shared that select GAF movies will be available to watch on the streaming service, Pure Flix, and several are already on the platform during Christmas in July!
Blessings on your day!
Happy 4th of July to you! Net
