I'm always so grateful for this special patriotic holiday to pause and reflect on the enormous sacrifices made by our military and their families, on our behalf, for our freedom today. May you all have a restful and peaceful Memorial Day, as we remember and honor our fallen soldiers.
Memorial Day is also the unofficial kick-off to Summer and a wonderful opportunity to share some quality time with family and friends. Whether you have a picnic, go to a festival, parade, or Memorial Day ceremony, attend a baseball game or other sporting event, fire up the grill and have a barbecue, or simply take a relaxing walk through the park or around the block, I hope you all have a beautiful weekend... "in the land of the free and the home of the brave."
There are also some patriotic specials airing on TV over this Memorial Day holiday weekend and some NEW movies too!

Storyline via INSP: "County Line: No Fear" returns viewers to two rough and tumble counties in the heart of Georgia. Tension is building as Maksville sheriff Alden Rockwell prepares to hand in his badge and retire. He is forced to reconsider the decision and team up with a neighboring sheriff to take on Zed Dalton, the ambitious leader of a powerful criminal organization.
*This movie is the third film in this series, following County Line and County Line: All In. It's an action-packed drama that is TV-14 due to violence.

Storyline: Former star track athlete, Sydney, is now a successful food blogger who still holds a flame for her college boyfriend whom she hasn’t seen in ten years. After running into him unexpectedly, she discovers he has entered the Valentine 10k Run and doesn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to reconnect. She quickly signs up for the run then recruits The Love Club – four women who made a vow to always be there for one another during times of romantic troubles – to help. After being paired up with a running buddy and also the chef and owner of a struggling local restaurant, it becomes apparent to everyone but Sydney that it is Theo (not her ex) who seems to share a bond with her – especially over their love of food and cooking. As Sydney helps Theo elevate his menu to buzzworthy appeal, Theo helps Sydney reach the finish line.

It's nice to see this addition to their schedule for the end of May and June!
🌟TCM will air numerous military and war-themed movies over Memorial Day weekend to honor those who have served and paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
🌟PBS will have the National Memorial Day Concert 2023 on Sunday evening. Please check your local PBS channel for time. Celebrities share stories about the military, award-winning musicians perform songs, and members of the United States military choirs and ensembles perform to honor military veterans, servicemen and women, and military families.

Is this the first time GAF has aired A Winter Wedding aka A Wedding Wonderland?
ReplyDeleteI don't see it mentioned in your TV Movies list nor on Wikipedia's GAF list.
It stars Nick Bateman and I liked it but it doesn'r score well at IMDb.
Have we got too excited by the news that GAF was to begin airing movies again in June? - I assumed this would include new ones but thinking about it now this might be erroneous and this could be further down the line.
The only one we know of Belgian Chocolate Christmas in July - Florence
Florence, "A Winter Wedding" has aired on Great American Family before. The film initially premiered on UPtv, and I'm not sure exactly when GAF started playing it, but it's been on intermittently for probably a year or so.

We always watch the Memorial Day show on PBS. It’s usually very emotional, so be sure to have tissues handy.
ReplyDeleteWe always watch the Memorial Day special, too, and by the end I'm usually a puddle of tears. It always makes me even more grateful for the freedoms we enjoy - seeing how much our military and their families sacrifice for us. Glad to hear you enjoy it, as well.

Well said. God bless all who defend America. It’s good to see these patriotic tv options this weekend. With all of the craziness in the world, like how certain individuals who do nothing are idolized on social media, it’s nice these tv channels still honor our true heroes. If only they were valued more on a daily basis.

All My great uncles who served in World War 2 they all passed away the last one passed away in October 2022

Watched County Line No Fear!! One word...WOW!! It was great! It has twist and turns in it you do not see coming...on the edge of your seat action packed ending! Now I want to see the first two! Thank you Net! Would not have known about this movie if not for your blog!

DeleteI watched the 2nd film "County Line: All In" over the weekend, and I finished the 3rd one, "County Line: No Fear," last night. You are so right - the 3rd film is action-packed and the first and second films are much the same.
I do want to caution others that this series is TV-14, but that's just because there is gun violence. It's like a modern-day style western. It's not overly gory or anything like that, but it is a murder-mystery.
Joyce, I'm so glad I could share this movie with you. I hope you can see the first 2 "County Line" movies soon! I think you'll enjoy those, too.

County Line No Fear – I agree with Joyce, this is such an action-packed movie. You’re pretty much on the edge of your seat the whole time. The mystery part is fascinating; each film in the "County Line" series is an intricately woven mystery that has you guessing the whole time. The characters feel so real and authentic; each actor was perfectly chosen for their role. In fact, Tom Wopat (AKA Luke Duke from "The Dukes of Hazzard") is perfect for the role of the retiring Sheriff, who doesn’t appear to want to quit his job of seeking law and order and justice.
DeleteCaution: This is a murder mystery filled with gun violence, a car-bomb, fist-fights, etc. The film is rated TV-14 because of this. It definitely has a modern western sort-of feel.
Overall, my family and I enjoyed this movie, the intriguing mystery, and fascinating characters. ~Net
