Two new movie premieres are coming this weekend, one on the Hallmark Channel and the second on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is the emotional movie drama pictured above, Unexpected Grace. I have a feeling it might require a tissue or two.
See all the movie details below.
Saturday, March 11, 2023:
Storyline: Audrey (Sustad), a creative board game designer and Matthew (Darnell), a research-driven marketing consultant, are tasked with creating a new game to help players find romance. Given just weeks to deliver the project, the pair find that they have very different approaches. However, as they try to work together, they discover something they have in common: they each have a lot to learn about love.
Sunday, March 12, 2023:
Storyline: Grace finds a note from a schoolgirl looking for a friend. Since Grace is still trying to find her place in her new hometown, she excitedly writes back and sets off a chain of events that ultimately changes the lives of three people.
Thoughts on New Movies:
I'm looking forward to seeing the premiere of Unexpected Grace since it stars two actors I like very much, Erica Durance (North to Home, Wedding Planner Mystery) and Michael Rady (A Joyous Christmas, Two Turtle Doves). Also, the young girl playing Michael's daughter, Erica Tremblay, has been a joy to watch in a number of TV movies, including Hope at Christmas, Love at Sunset Terrace, and Always Amore!
Speaking of the film, Always Amore, it is one of the current nominees for Favorite TV Movies from 2022. Be sure to place your vote in the It's a Wonderful Movie Awards - HERE!
Great American Family:
Well, even though there isn't a new movie on Great American Family this weekend, you can still have some movie fun with their Jingle Bell Bracket! You must have your Christmas movie picks chosen by Sunday at noon. Fill out your bracket - here!
Two of the interesting choices in the bracket are Danica McKellar's and Candace Cameron Bure's upcoming 2023 Christmas movies! They are just 2 of the 21 Christmas movies Great American Family is planning for this upcoming Christmas movie season!
I had such fun filling out my bracket; I hope you do, too!
Also, don't forget, it's Daylight Saving Time this weekend! ⏰ Happy *Spring Ahead*! I'll be spending an hour or more just trying to fix all of my clocks! haha!
Please note: I haven't pre-screened the NEW movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Disclaimer: Please know when I share a movie, this is NOT an endorsement of any of the actors involved, personally or professionally, with their other TV/film projects.
I'll be doing other things this weekend.
ReplyDeleteIf my annoyance with Hallmark continues into the next month, I'll end up considering skipping The Blessing Bracelot as well even though Dayspring made it.
It just feels wrong at this time IMO to try to keep supporting a network that just wants to keep on insulting it's core audience and throwing mystery movie fans under the bus. Old movies made before 2020 I'll keep watching if I want to, but new movies right now? Not worth the risk. -Maria
I agree with you, Maria, I am skipping more and more Hallmark movies since they started pushing all this destructive "woke" stuff in our faces.
DeleteDitto!
DeleteFor all those curious, 'Ride' was featured in the new issue of TV Guide. I read the article, and yes. There's a gay man in the show.
ReplyDeleteZero surprise there.-Maria
Thanks for the head’s up, much appreciated. Disappointing to hear that. I also always appreciate Net giving us a head’s up as well.
DeleteMaria, I so appreciate you looking into this and sharing this info with us! Another disappointment, though. Was hoping this series might me wholesome for family viewing. Unfortunately not.
DeleteI appreciate you taking the time to share!
Blessings to you, Net
Anytime Net. -Maria
DeleteI’d like to see Aurora’s Father
ReplyDeleteWho will young version of Sally Elizabeth Allison - Sally Allison?
I really hope these are family friendly otherwise many here will have nothing to watch this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo disappointing that Hallmark is the only channel with new movies this weekend - Florence
Which Hallmark Movies are you looking forward seeing this weekend?
ReplyDeleteI will celebrating a birthday on Sunday March 12.
ReplyDeleteChris, Was it your birthday on Sunday, March 12th? If so, Happy Birthday and thank you for all of your contributions here at It's a Wonderful Movie! God Bless You!!! :)
DeleteHappy belated birthday! -Maria
DeleteGame of Love is family friendly about Audrey us a creative board game designer & Matthew is a research-driven marketing consultant are given just weeks to create a new game to help players to find romance that contain board games & game apps, they work at Play It Cool Game company

Unexpected Grace is family friendly about trying to find her place in a new town, Grace discovers a note from a schoolgirl looking for a friend. She writes back & sets off chain of events that ultimately changes the lives of three people. Grace’s Mom passed away & Noelle’s Daughter named Antonia “Toni” Webb’s passed away
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates
ReplyDeleteI haven't been watching Hallmark in a long time. I actually need to start watching GAC and UP more.
Misty
Misty, It's so wonderful to hear from you, my friend!
DeleteHopefully, Great American Family will bring movies back in April, but it looks like they are taking a break for March.
UPtv will still have movies, though. They are playing some inspirational films, as usual, leading up 'til Easter.
Hope you enjoy watching some of these. Again, so nice to hear from you! Blessings to you! Net
I am looking forward to watching 'Unexpected Grace'. It looks exceptional. I decided to skip 'Game of Love'. And I am so upset by the news about 'Ride'. :-( When will Hallmark wake up and go back to the values that made all of us want to invest in their movies and series? :-(
ReplyDeleteJoan
Disastrous viewing figures for An Unexpected Grace - less than 700k.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Michael Rady and thought he was generally popular but his film ratings are never that good - Florence
Hi Maria,
DeleteThat is a shame. My husband and I watched the movie, last night, and we liked it a lot. Yes, the storyline was sad initially but it turned into something meaningful, heartfelt and bittersweet. Also, the movie made both of us cry happy tears. The movie was truly was unexpected in many ways. It is refreshing to view a movie that is realistic and faith based and moving. All of the actors were good and the leads had nice chemistry. It was believable. I think Erica and Michael are under rated and the girl who played Michael's onscreen daughter was lovely. Joan
Joan, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Unexpected Grace. I'm so glad to hear how much you and your husband enjoyed it.
DeleteIt is too bad, as Florence mentioned above, that it didn't receive higher ratings. Hallmark Movies & Mysteries seems to still struggle, at times, to pull in ratings, compared to the main Hallmark Channel.
Thank you, again, for sharing, Joan. I shared your review here:

Hi Net,
DeleteThank you. I wanted people to know how great it was. I would put 'Unexpected Grace' in my top ten favorite movies. :-) It was truly special. :-) I hope more people find it if they air it again. Thank you for sharing my review.
And, I just realized Florence was the one whose comment I replied to but typed Maria. Sorry Florence!
I am saddened by the news that wonderful movie had such bad ratings. HMM does continue to struggle.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Joan
