I wanted to be certain you all were aware of the storyline in this new upcoming Hallmark movie - that will include a same-sex couple...
Variety shared this Hallmark movie news today...
"Teri Hatcher and James Tupper will star as former high school sweethearts in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie “Mid-Love Crisis,” premiering this fall. Brian Markinson, June Laporte and Matreya Scarrwener also star.
Hatcher portrays Mindy, a single mom approaching her 50th birthday who “realizes she’s in the throes of a bonafide mid-life crisis.” During a long weekend at the family’s lake house with her daughter Rita (Laporte) and Rita’s girlfriend, Emily (Scarrwener) Mindy is surprisingly reunited with her former boyfriend — Emily’s uncle, Sam (Tupper), who she hasn’t spoken to in three decades.
As Rita plans to surprise Emily with a proposal, she tells her mom she wants her dad to join them, leading to Mindy’s two exes under one roof.
“As the weekend progresses, an assertiveness inside her awakens and Mindy finds herself not only embracing her life, but discovering what it is she truly wants as she gets ready to start the next chapter,” the (Hallmark media) release adds."
Due to this storyline and my own personal beliefs, I will not be promoting this movie.
At first i thought this was great, I like the more mature movies, and it seems they finally are portraying people as their ages, but this sounds awful. not only the same sex, but then 2 men in her life will be there? does she cheat on the father? sounds bad, but good, one less thing to watch.

I do love that HMM is not shying away from seasoned romance.
ReplyDeleteThank for the warning Net! It’s nice to know ahead.
ReplyDeleteI was excited to see Teri doing another Hallmark movie until I read the synopsis in the article. So sad I can’t support her in this one. I’m crossing my fingers that James Denton’s movie is family friendly.
ReplyDeleteI quit watching Hallmark channel all together when they started promoting the same sex relationships. I miss the days when I would turn on Home and Family in the morning and never touch the remote the rest of the day. I can only wish GAC would bring Home and Family back and turn to movies during the week, instead of terrible sitcoms. Thanks Net for all you do.
ReplyDeleteThere are multiple channels dedicated to LGBT so why is Hallmark determined to have same sex couples on so many of their movies? I will NOT watch any movie that has same sex couples and will stop watching Hallmark totally by the end of the year. Hopefully you won’t ruin Christmas for those of us (the majority of your viewers) that disagree with and refuse to watch them. So disappointed in Hallmark!
