The CEO of GAC Family, Bill Abbott, revealed with Jen Lilley in a new Instagram story - GAC Family will be airing NEW Movies (with the exception of Labor Day weekend) EVERY Saturday night starting August 20th until the end of the year!!! Isn't that great news? We knew they were bringing back new movies on that date, but we had no idea they would keep rolling out new movies every Saturday night. This is very exciting!!!
Also, Bill shared some wonderful news with Jen Lilley regarding GAC Family's Christmas movies! They are currently planning 16-18 NEW Christmas Movie Premieres for the 2022 Great American Christmas Season!!! He also said they are planning movies with a faith element that celebrates the true meaning! Yes!!!! I'm truly ecstatic! I couldn't wait to share this fantastic news with all of you! Stay tuned - as I'll be sharing even more details as soon as GAC Family shares it!
I really can't get excited about this - there were far too many Christmas movies last year and this is the first revelation of what is looking like even more saturation this year, I wish they had stuck to a dozen or so.
ReplyDeleteI wish Hallmark and Lifetime would actually cut back on the number they air but fat chance of that - Florence
I tend to agree, Florence re: the number of Christmas movies. I mean, I still watch many of them, but I think back when Hallmark had fewer, they were more special because it was something to anticipate. :)
DeleteFlorence and Rissi... I agree! It was around 40 or so Christmas movies from Hallmark and 35 from Lifetime last year. It was way too much. It took me months to watch all the ones I collected on my DVR, and I didn't even watch all 75. I keep wondering how interested viewers will be if they keep up this pace. I can't see either Hallmark or Lifetime cutting back, though, especially since they are in a big competition with each other - and UPtv and GAC Family, etc...
DeleteAnyway, I'm glad to see GAC Family is creating more, but I hope they keep the number reasonable each year. I know they are trying to build up their movie library, plus new movies typically bring in more viewers.
Wow, this is great! I may forget every other station and just watch GAC Family only this year.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, That is a wonderful idea! Plus, if we want GAC Family to succeed, then we need to be supportive! :)
DeleteAmen to that, Net!!
DeleteI SO CAN’T WAIT!!! We really need movies with faith, especially with all the sad stuff in the news these days. Thanks for this update Net!
ReplyDeleteCJ, There has definitely been a void when it comes to the Christmas movies that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. I'm excited to see what GAC has in store for us this Christmas that includes elements of faith!
Delete16-18 new Christmas movies!!! Wow, this is exciting! Way to go GAC Family!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds wonderful! We are very much looking forward to watching all the new movies on GAC Family!
ReplyDeleteHooray!! What an early Christmas gift to all of us GAC Family Channel viewers. Great news about faith-themed content for the season of Our Savior’s birth. Someday-Peace on Earth.
ReplyDelete-Gabe’s Mom
Gabe's Mom, That is so true! Our world today definitely needs more faith-themed content. I believe we would have a lot less crime if people would return to biblical-based values. I'm praying for peace, too! I'm so looking forward to seeing GAC create content like this.
DeleteBlessings to you... and Gabe! :)
I am so thrilled to see GAC Family "blossoming!" It is so nice to now have an alternative to the wokeness of Hallmark. I used to love the Hallmark movies but now it is so woke many are hard to watch. As an example, I am a woman in an interracial marriage for almost 46 years! It unnerves me to see that Hallmark feels the need to have an interracial marriage in EVERY movie nowadays. I don't need to be "represented" - I am a woman that is married to a man....color is not our focus.
ReplyDeleteUltimately I am a lover of movies and Christmas. I say bring as many movies and especially Christmas movies to GAC...they will be watched/recorded. I am hoping that GAC Family will have enough movies in their arsenal that the majority of the day is movies!
Janet, Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. I think we all just want to simply be entertained these days, while so many companies feel the need to school us in various social agendas.
DeleteI love your passion for GAC Family movies! Like you, I sincerely hope their channel keeps on growing!
Blessings on your weekend, my friend! :)
I am so happy! There will be plenty to watch on GAC. No need to go anywhere else for Christmas movies. Faith and family! An answer to prayer. Thank you Bill Abbott! Thank you Lord!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say thank you Net for this info!
ReplyDeletekitkat, Awww, thank you!!! Your enthusiasm brings me joy! GAC Family is truly a wonderful blessing! I'm sure it will be in our home night and day throughout the Christmas season.
DeleteThis is great! Like someone else said above, GAC Family may be the only movies I watch this year! If the market is too saturated, then I will be very discerning in what I watch.
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, That was my thought, as well, when I saw the number of movies they are doing this year, plus the 24/7 coverage. Like you, I'm also going to be even more selective of what I watch on other networks this year, depending on what they offer. I'm so glad to know you feel the same.
DeleteI'm so excited, this sounds so wonderful!! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Me, too! Thank you for sharing the joy! :)
DeleteThis is awesome! I can’t wait
ReplyDeleteI am super excited about this. I hope we get some good fall harvest movies. I am happy about new movies, i do wish they could acquire some of the older movies i miss seeing.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Sabrina, I'm wishing the same thing! I would love to see "A Grandpa for Christmas," "All I Want for Christmas," "A Christmas Wish," etc...
DeleteHope they acquire some more new ones, too! :)
Wonderful news!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas movies! I watch almost all of them. Bring them on, and I will watch!
