and
Love on the Road
I hope you all have been enjoying January, as we are easing now towards the end of the month. Our temps have been bitterly cold lately here in the Mid West, so it's not too fun to be outdoors, but that's okay, there's always plenty to do indoors, too... and at the end of the day, it's nice to stay in, keep warm and enjoy some relaxing movie watching. Neither of the new movies premiering this weekend appear to have a winter feel, but they still look intriguing. First, we have heartfelt messages from the past in Hallmark's Don't Forget I Love You and we may have a recipe for love in UPtv's Love on the Road.
See more movie details below...
Saturday, January 22, 2022:
On her birthday, Taylor opens a time capsule left by her deceased mother, which contains six envelopes. In each one is a challenge to complete, challenges that her mother - aware of Taylor's many anxieties that hold her back - knew would expand her horizons and give her the push she needs in life and to help open her mind, and heart, to the possibility of love.
Sunday, January 23, 2022:
When restaurant makeover show host Abby gets a new assignment to turn a rustic small-town diner into a place on the culinary map, she knows she’s way out of her element. But as Abby and diner owner Tom spend time together in and out of the kitchen, Abby discovers the joy of good comfort food, a place she just might call home, and a thing she just might call love.
There's an encore airing of "The Wedding Veil," Saturday at 4pm on the Hallmark Channel.
As I'm writing this post, we are having a light snowfall, the kind that looks like we are in a magical world, a glistening snow globe! It feels like a true winter wonderland, which reminds me, if any of you are interested, you can check out the Christmas TV Schedule to see the Christmas movies airing this week and beyond!
The New Movie Schedule includes non-holiday movies airing in January and February on GAC Family, the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and UPtv.
Please Note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
The trailer for don't Forget I Love You looks very interesting and I'm feeling chemistry there.
ReplyDeleteI've already seen Love On The Road and can confirm it is definitely family-friendly.
Remember that a review is only a personal point of view.
The plot is similar to that which we have seen many times before and certain aspects were not really to my personal taste - I found this pretty slow-moving.
I'm not a big fan of Erin Cahill and while I generally enjoy Jeese Hutch (who has been pretty active recently) He didn't seem to have his usual spark.
While it's just not my cup of tea I do think that others here might probably enjoy this.
Florence's rating 4.5
Florence, Thank you so much for this review - I always enjoy getting your perspective. It's even better receiving your family-friendly tip before it airs on Sunday night.
DeleteAnd, I get what you mean about this being your "personal point of view". Family friendly to one person might not be the same to someone else, but I trust your take.
Thank you... Have a blessed weekend! :)

Don't Forget I Love You must have been filmed for a Fall movie and then reassigned or bought as filler to fit the New Year New You theme. Definitely a fall setting with colorful leaves.
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting to hear this movie is more of a fall theme. I sure miss the Winterfest movies in January on Hallmark.

Note: This review may contain Spoilers.
Don't Forget I Love You is family friendly and a little different from the usual formula. While it has some comic aspects it deals with real like fears or phobias. Chemistry was good between the leads and Emillie Ullerup was great as always.
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Wonderful to hear from you - that "Don't Forget I Love You" is family friendly! I appreciate you giving us this bit of insight into the movie on how it deals with more emotion, than the typical rom-com.

Thank you for sharing, my friend! :)
I would expect this movie to be better, it is a Christie Wil Wolf directed movies and her movies are usually top notch, like Harvest Love, Dash of Love, Yes I do, Poinsettas for Christmas. I recorded it but haven't watched yet. I think this was filmed last year sometime, early or summer. She is one of my favorite female directors. She works a lot with Jen Lilley and Chris Russell.
DeleteSabrina
Agree, Sabrina! I always enjoy Christie's movies, too! Her movies always seem down-to-earth and authentic. Hope we enjoy this one, too! :)
DeleteFlorence is so right. I feel the opposite about Love On The Road. Loved this movie and thought Jesse and Erin had great chemistry. Sweet and simple, and I like that. Erin Cahill and Jesse Hutch are two of my favorite actors. Suppose that could have something to do with my feelings also.
ReplyDeleteOn a different subject, I watched an old movie on UP with Trevor Donovan that I found to be a keeper. I think it is Runaway Romance. If I can find it on Amazon, I will buy this DVD. Can't believe I had missed this movie first time around.
kitkat, It's interesting how we all like different things. I know I like movies that others don't love and vice versa, there are movies I don't especially like that others like very much.
DeleteAs for "Runaway Romance," I have seen that one, too! Trevor Donovan and Danielle C. Ryan are always a great match together on screen. By the way, Amazon does have this on DVD - see here:
https://amzn.to/3qTc8GJ
Have you also seen them in "Love, Lost & Found"? It's not on DVD, unfortunately, but you can see it on Prime Video:
https://amzn.to/3qW5O16. I keep hoping GAC Family will pick it up, too, someday!
Plus, I almost forgot... they are great in the Amish movie "Love Finds You In Charm," too. That one is available on DVD or Prime Video:
https://amzn.to/32yR3Is
Would love to see them paired up again in a movie for GAC Family!!!
Love on the Road is a fantastic movie! Not only is it family friendly but it has a fresh turn at boy meets girl! It was delivered and was believable due to the undeniable chemistry between Erin and Jesse. It held my attention and I "couldn't put it down". Great work to all the actors and Uptv team.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted to hear how much you enjoyed "Love on the Road"!
DeleteI shared your review with the UPtv January movies here:

Thanks Net! Have both of them in my cart. When I have time, will watch Love, Lost & Found. Appreciate this so much!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful... enjoy!!! :)
DeleteHappy "Mark the 25th" everyone from, well, Mark 25. I know, we just had a slew (or maybe sleigh?) of Christmas movies these past couple of months, but it is our fun monthly tradition, right? So...
ReplyDeleteI am going to watch one of my favorites from 2016, "Sound of Christmas" with Lindy Booth and Robin Dunne. In fact, I am not sure that Hallmark even showed this movie this Christmas season, which is a shame if it didn't. Anyway, I'll be watching it with a steaming cup of hot chocolate since the temperatures here are forecasted to be below 0 tonight!
Happy Mark the 25th, Mark! It seems like there was a lack of interest in doing this last year with the weekly Christmas movies and all, but I'm still game to join in with you!
DeleteI'm still watching new Christmas movies on my DVR, so I think tonight's movie might be "Making Spirits Bright" with Taylor Cole. I must admit, I still have lots of new Christmas movies to watch, but I'm enjoying them slowly, little by little.
Happy 25th, again! It's 11 months 'til Christmas!!! :)
Alicia Witt’s parents sudden death

Yes, I read that article, too. My heart breaks for Alicia and her family. I had a feeling, as giving as she is, that she tried to help. Some people are just not accepting, unfortunately.
DeleteI'll be keeping her in my prayers.
