Where are You CHRISTMAS? πŸŽ„

During these days after Christmas I've been hearing those first three lines from that sweet song from 'Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas' playing over and over in my mind...

Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away…

It's a bit harder to find Christmas after Christmas on TV, but you know I'm always searching for it!

This week, as we head into the New Year, we can continue to find Christmas 24/7 on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and nightly on GAC Family, plus, all day this coming weekend! I've included some of the prime-time highlights for Hallmark in my Christmas TV Schedule, along with GAC Family's complete Christmas movie lineup for this week!

In the New Year, 2022 - we will find Christmas movies Thursday night on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Friday night on the Hallmark Channel, and something exciting and new... Christmas movies will air Saturday night throughout the year on GAC Family!

Even though Christmas day has passed, the song Where are You Christmas ends with a hopeful message...

Christmas is here
Everywhere, oh
Christmas is here
If you care, oh

If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

Oh, I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away, oh
The joy of Christmas
Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

Here is that beautiful song sung by the little girl who portrays Cindy Lou in 'Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas'...

When Christmas day is over, we must hold on to the spirit even tighter. I am reminded by that special quote by Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol, "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."

Let's keep the true joy of Christmas, the birth of Jesus!, in our hearts every day!

Be sure to check the Christmas TV Schedule for special Christmas movies airing this week and beyond.

Joyous Christmas Blessings to You All
and Happy New Year! Net

  1. Did you see that Haley Dean Mysteries and Picture Perfect Mysteries are cancelled by Hallmark?
If any of you guys have Haley Dean Mysteries and Picture Perfect Mysteries on DVD that will be the only way to see them.

    1. Chris, Yes, it was sad to see the actors from these movies share that they have been officially cancelled by Hallmark. Both series feel quite unfinished.

Can't Hallmark see that's why viewers are reluctant to begin a new series - because they know the rug could be pulled out from under them at any time. It's a bad precedent to repeatedly not finish a series that was already started.

    2. I am glad I own the Haley Dean's on DVD. But Picture Perfect isn't on DVD that I know of.
I don't have cable, but I'm curious. Chris, you said the only way to watch was DVD. Does that mean they won't put on reruns of the shows?

Hope everyone here has a happy New Year!

    3. The abrupt cancellation of Cedar Cove "cured" me of ever getting involved in any Hallmark ongoing series ever again which is why I never got involved in When Calls The Heart, Chesapeake Shores etc.

Every programme has its day and I don't object to a station cancelling shows which are getting poor ratings but there's no reason why they can't make a final programme tying up the loose ends such as the makers of ER or The West Wing did.

You may not have gotten the ending you wanted for a particular character but at least the viewers were treated with respect.

Hallmark with all its resources could easily make a final instalment of any programme being cancelled.

The Mystery Series are slightly different in that the main theme for cach movie does have a resolution although there is an ongoing situation in eacg of them.

Particularly worrying is the fact that Jill Wagner's last movie was for GAC which raises the possibility that she might have "left" Hallmark as a number of other actors seem to have.

It would be terrible if we were to be left up in the air after the shock ending to the last Mystery 101 - Florence

    4. Lots of Times when Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Movies and Mysteries cancels movies they usually do not air on Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Movies and Mysteries I will give you an example When Lori Loughlin got fired from Hallmark Hallmark Movies and Mysteries and Hallmark Channel never aired her movies again.

    1. Yes! That repeats this weekend too! I absolutely loved the "When Hope Calls" Christmas shows! I was filled with all sorts of emotion while watching! What a heartwarming way to begin their season 2. I'm so thrilled WHC has a new home on GAC Family!

    2. I hope they follow Jeanette Oke’s WHC books unlikely WCTH TV Series if they follow WCTH books

  4. Personally I think this is overkill but I suppose they're there if anyone wants to watch them - you can get too much of a good thing!

I haven't any time to write reviews, we are just snowed under with unwatched Christmas movies - normally we can finish these by early/ mid February but honestly this year it's looking like it could be nearer Easter.

I have a few reservations about GAC but appreciate that it will take a little while to get things sorted out fully, on the whole though the movies have been pretty good.

I just hope they do their own thing and don't go down the route of "fighting" with Hallmark.

Could I just tell you how much I appreciate and thank you for all the wonderful work you do on this site - we would miss so much if it wasn't for you.

It's amazing how you mange to keep on top of it all.

Hope you had a wonderful and joyous Christmas.

So far from what we've watched the best movies have come from the HMM Channel, they've been of a very high quality this year.

Wishing you and all the Members here a happy and prosperous 2022 although we must all have some trepidation about what path Hallmark might go down - Florence

    1. Florence, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us! I hope you aren't snowed in for too long. We had a few wet flurries today, but nothing stuck for us. The temps were just a little too warm for that - upper 30's.

Hopefully, you can enjoy some Christmas movies while you are snowed in. I've been trying to soak up all the classics on TV I love this week - and maybe, a few new ones. You are so right, it might be Easter when we are done, in addition to keeping up with the new movies in January, etc...

So glad you enjoyed all of the reviews over Christmas. It was a challenge, at times, to keep up with all of the reviews that came in, but it was a blessing to have each one! I understand that you are busy now, but whenever you have a chance, we would love to hear your thoughts, too!

Be safe. Blessings in the New Year! Net

    2. Oh dear we're talking at cross purposes - we haven't had any snow at all.

What I meant by being "snowed under" was the sheer number of 2021 Christmas movies we have yet to watch! - Florence

      Delete
    3. Florence - Oh goodness... so sorry I misread your previous comment. What a fun way to put it! We've certainly been piled upon this year - with Christmas movie after Christmas movie.

I found myself doing this holiday season what others here have suggested: I watched about 10-15 minutes of some movies and if the story or characters didn't grab me, I turned it. It's really unlike me to do that, but this year it seemed easier. Time is precious and some movies just didn't seem worth 2 hours of my life.

Anyway, I went through my list of unwatched Christmas movies this morning and the list is still really long. That's okay, though, as I love having them to look forward to watching in January and beyond!!!

  5. Awwwwe, Jim, I'm so glad the "Where are you Christmas" song touched your heart. I wasn't certain about sharing it, at first, because I thought it sounded a little sad, but then the final words of the song truly uplifted my spirit...

    Oh, I feel you Christmas
    I know I've found you
    You never fade away, oh
    The joy of Christmas
    Stays here inside us

Fills each and every heart with love

That line about the joy of Christmas staying inside us - just filled me up with such optimism. I know the love of Jesus remains inside each of us who are believers. There is, of course, a special glow of this celebration around the Christmas season, but we will just have to keep on shining His light together - all throughout the year!

I will be praying for you, honey.

    God bless you! Net

  6. Where Are You, Christmas?

    [Verse]
    Where are you Christmas
    Why can't I find you
    Why have you gone away
    Where is the laughter
    You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play
    My world is changing
    I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

    Where are you Christmas
    Do you remember
The one you used to know
    I'm not the same one
    See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go
    Christmas is here
    Everywhere, oh
    Christmas is here
    If you care, oh
If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time

    I feel you Christmas
    I know I've found you
    You never fade away
    The joy of Christmas
    Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

  7. Jim, I am so happy to see your post. Just to know you are okay. Now I understand why you have not been on here recently. I will say a prayer for you.

This year, for the first time, my family decided to forgo gift giving, except for the little ones, and focus on the meaning of Christmas instead. What a blessing! It was all about Christ! My sister had done this one Christmas and she recommended it. She said the blessings were beyond description. She was right! We gave to charities as usual. Now I am happy to face the New Year, whatever it brings. God gave us His only Son! Praise the Lord!

    1. kitkat, That is so nice! We've been trying to do less among the adults, as well, and of course, give to others in need. You are absolutely right, it is such a blessing!

Thank you for sharing your joyful Christmas celebration with us! Happy New Year!!! :)

    2. Jim, Like I said to you above, you are family to us here, and we all care about you. I'm sorry this season has been so difficult. I understand it is hard to know what to do these days. Not only do you want to protect yourself, but you want to protect your family members, as well, and not spread any thing, unknowingly, of course, to them.

Some of my family members were not well over Christmas, so it wasn't quite the same day for us. Praise God, though, they are feeling better now, not 100%, but better. We visited their home and left special items on their porch. Even though it's a week after Christmas, we haven't had our main celebration, yet, but we are hoping to do so soon. My Aunt had hers yesterday with her family and other family members are celebrating on January 8th... so it's still possible to celebrate any time you choose.

The Lord is with us each day - He is our comfort and our strength. We are with you - reach out to us all as much as you need to. God bless you!

    3. Jim, I was in your place in 2020. We did not celebrate with anyone; not even our children. It was so sad! Our children were afraid to come into our home because of the covid restrictions, so we mailed their gifts. Then after much prayer, I decided to change things for 2021. I told my family they were welcome in our home anytime, because I would no longer live in fear.

Jim, when you think about it, God decides our timeline, no matter what is happening in the earth. The bible tells us over and over to fear not. Something that has helped me tremendously are two chapters in the bible: Isiah 41(which I have copied and is hanging over my office desk) and Psalm 91. If you can, hang on to God's promises. He loves you and will take care of you. He will dry every tear! My prayer for you is for His joy to fill your heart and His peace to surround you. Praying God will bless you in 2022 to restore lost time with your family.

    4. Jim, So good to hear that your mom and sister are both recovering well after having the virus at Christmas. I think your idea of having a special Christmas after Christmas at your home is a wonderful idea, especially having it near Spring when the weather warms up.

kitkat, thank you for sharing those inspirational scriptures with Jim and all of us. Psalm 91 is always such a strong encouragement through any of life's trials.

God's blessings and Happy New Year to you both!!!

  12. Maybe this is old news, but The Gourmet Detective appears to be canceled as well, especially since Dylan Neal and his family have moved to Portugal. Too bad - this was one of my favorite mysteries. The rapport and fast-talking of Neal and Brooke Burns (especially in the first couple of movies) reminded me of old black-and-white comedy-mystery movies.

  13. Another Christmas song that I love that helps me keep Christmas in my heart all year long - although it is not very popular - is The Secret of Christmas. It goes:

It's not the glow you feel when snow appears
It's not the Christmas card you've sent for years
Not the joyful sound when sleigh bells ring
Or the merry songs children sing
The little gift you send on Christmas day
Will not bring back the friend you turned away
So may I suggest, the secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do, at Christmas time
But the Christmas things you do, all year through

As I type these lyrics, I can see that they may seem a little off-putting, and I am the first to admit that I love snow, cards, bells ringing, etc. at Christmastime. But the message is simply that they don't mean anything if we don't keep the true meaning of Christmas - Jesus - in our hearts the entire year. I know, I'm preaching to the choir here, but it is a message worth repeating, isn't it?

    2. Mark - I found Bing Crosby singing it on YouTube! It is absolutely beautiful!

So glad you shared this! Now I have to see this movie he sings it in - 'Say One for Me'.

    3. Net, I am so glad you like this song too! I first heard it on a Christmas cd in 2000 by SheDaisy in a more upbeat version. Then, lo and behold, Laura Osnes (we know her!) performed it in her Mormon Tabernacle Christmas concert in 2015 in a slower version similar to Bing's. I highly recommend both versions - SheDaisy's is on their cd "Brand New Me" and Laura's is on the Choir's cd "Hallelujah!".

  14. After reading reviews on 'Tis The Season To Be Merry, I watched it. What an enjoyable movie! Thanks to reviewers, I did not miss out on one of the best for 2021. This is a keeper for me. Can't wait to watch again! I agree with all of you. Great chemistry with Rachel and Travis.
