Wonderful Christmas News!
Christmas is coming earlier than originally announced on GAC Family!
GAC Family released this statement today via their social media platforms...
Christmas is coming early! NEXT SATURDAY, October 16 at 8/7C, welcome home to #GACfamilyTV and our FIRST #Christmas Special, ‘Welcome To Great American Christmas.’ π Join us as we kick off this joyous occasion hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos & Cameron Mathison!
#WelcomeToGreatAmericanChristmas #GreatAmericanChristmas #StoriesWellTold #GACers #GACfamFans
This means we are going to get a sneak peek at GAC Family's Christmas in just one week on Saturday, October 16th at 8pm/7c.! Plus, if you are keeping track of the Christmas Schedule, this showing is the same night as Hallmark's preview, which takes place at 9pm/8c. during commercial breaks of the Fall Harvest movie - Advice to Love By. We don't know, yet, how long GAC Family's preview is. It could be 30 minutes, an hour or two! I'm anticipating it will probably be an hour; however, if by chance it is over an hour, than the two preview shows on competing networks will coincide. Oh my... things are certainly getting interesting, aren't they?
See the video clip for this GAC Family Christmas special below...
I can't wait to see all that awaits us this Christmas season!
I wish GAC Family could air 7pm ET/4pm PT just like UpTV
ReplyDeleteI have to catch up other movies on Hallmark on Saturdays & Sundays 9ET/6PM PT
What about Christmas movies on Hallmark Channel, HMM, & GAC Family
Same time as Hallmark Channel & GAC Family at 8PM ET/5pm PT - Hallmark Channel.& GAC Family
HMM Christmas movies at 10pm ET/7PM PT
I’m expect to record all 3 Christmas movies
Awesome! I'm so excited about this I could bust!
ReplyDeleteWow! One week away from Christmas previews! I can hardly believe it. Super excited about the new season of Christmas movies on GAC family and great to have Debbie and Cameron back! π
DeleteIf they want to compete with Hallmark, hopefully they will make an effort to be available in same market areas.
DeleteI am so happy I can't wait to watch next week. I wasn't watching advice to love by anyway.
ReplyDeleteJust curious. Still not sure if Christmas movies will also be shown on GAC living. I see where the promo show is scheduled there. Tried to contact GAC but have not heard back yet
DeleteWhen will this channel be coming to verizon?
ReplyDeleteI hope Verizon gets their act together! They cancelled the Great American Country channels in July/August, but they recently added back in just GAC Living. If they don't add in GAC Family in the next week or two, they are going to lose me as a longtime customer of Verizon Fios here in the Mid-Atlantic. (And it's almost impossible to find a real person to call, write or email about this at Verizon. If anyone knows how to get through to them, please let me know!)

To be honest I'm a bit uneasy about where this is going - it's beginning to look as if there could be a personal grudge match developing - Florence
ReplyDeleteWow! Watching that promo made me so excited for the special! Hallmark's timing of letting go of staff and not renewing programming could not be any better for GAC Family. It makes it so much easier for positive and uplifting actors and actresses to do programming for GAC Family now.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.......you're trying too hard, Cameron, tone it down a bit! - Florence
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for GAC bringing wholesome programming. Can't wait to see all their Christmas movies.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so happy! I'm glad GAC Family is coming out with guns blazing. It's about time family-friendly programming is being given the attention it deserves. I hope they have tremendous ratings this year!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I find it interesting that FrndlyTV hasn't announced they are adding GAC Family. I could be wrong, but I wonder if Hallmark is somehow preventing the addition. FrndlyTV is so immersed in Hallmark advertising, it's possible. If something doesn't happen this week, my family may be changing our streaming subscriptions just to get GAC.
So I really an interested in how all this plays out. What I am really excited about is that GAC Family may just be the one's to start catering to people like me that just want to see a great movie without all the pc stuff! Hallmark has gotten so bad at making sure they represent every nationality even though for most of us it really isn't a representation of real life (and haters beware I don't care for the necessity for LGBTQ either when it is just to check a box and does nothing to enhance the story!). I have thought of this a lot lately...for me it's a matter of when the next interracial couple is going to appear even though it does nothing for the story line. Now don't get upset because I have been married for almost 45 years to a black man...and back in the 1970's it wasn't totally accepted. So when I see Hallmark making sure there is an interracial couple it really upsets me....that is not "normal," at least in my life...it is few and far between. Now don't get me wrong I love Deliver By Christmas and Jingle Bell Bride and it isn't because it helps the "statistic" it is because of the plot and the chemistry between the actors not to just check a box! I am thrilled that it appears that GAC Family is going back to the roots that Hallmark had (sad but true). Most of all I hope they have lots of the Hallmark alumni that believe in family values coming their way!!! Hopefully GAC Family will also eventually release the movies on DVD.
ReplyDeleteI don't post much so please forgive me if I have ruffled any feathers.
Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us on Hallmark; I wholeheartedly agree with your feelings on these issues. It does seem like they use certain actors or love interests to fulfill a quota, regardless if it makes sense or if the actor/actress is even good for that particular role.
DeleteI so appreciate you commenting and sharing your thoughts with us... Blessings to you!
To Anonymous, I feel exactly how you do. I feel sad that every movie has to have the interracial, or LBTQ whatever, even if it doesn't fit in the movie. It is embarrassing and disrespectful to all people to do things the way they have in more recent movies. It also feels not genuine at all. Just hire people for movies and go, it honestly feels like the movie is going on, or casting, and someone gets everyone together, looks around, says, "ok, I dont see a mexican american in this scene so please get someone". When i watched the 27 Hour Day, they had a scene outside in Montana of all places and their was like 1 cowboy hat, all else was the most diverse group of people i have ever seen. I just wish someone would call them out for being so fake and almost making all of this into some kind of joke.

Anonymous (and Net and Sabrina) - No need to worry about ruffling my feathers, I know exactly how you feel and what you expressed are my sentiments exactly! I am getting tired of Hallmark feeling they have to insert whatever in order to appease all of the young wokes out there. I am hopeful that much better things will come out of the GAC movies!
DeleteCan’t wait for Hallmarks “Woke” ornament and card selections. Something else to not buy.
DeleteMy cable schedule shows it as 2 hours.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that news. My TV schedule doesn't go that far and many of the online guides don't have this information yet.
DeleteCan you tell me where I can find GAC Family. I have Dish Net & cannot locate it.
ReplyDeleteI sure can, reisert8! I looked it up and it says GAC Family is on Dish Network: Channel 165 (HD).
DeleteHope this works for you! :)
I'm looking forward to watching the Christmas Preview on GAC Family. I'm also looking forward to all the GAC Family Christmas movies. The scenes in the little video clip look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Karen... it looks enchanting! :)
DeleteDish only offers GAC Family
DeleteOn the Cheapest package or the most expensive.
Based on Instagram comments, I think a lot of the former Home & Family cast members may be on the special.

Net, do you know if any network in Canada is going to pick up the GAC movies?
ReplyDeleteYes! Super Channel Heart & Home will be airing the "When Hope Calls" Christmas Special, so you may want to keep a close eye there - just in case they play some of the others. Hope you have that channel! π
DeleteIf there has to be a choice, it will be GAC instead of Hallmark. I know GAC won't pull what Hallmark does with inserting gays when you least expect it. Fingers crossed GAC continues to be safe.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention that on GAC Living (the only channel available on Verizon, so far) they've been running lots of ads for both channels, GAC Family and Living. The preview show for Christmas movies will air on "Living" on this Saturday night. Also, after running the ads for both channels they're saying something like... "and our biggest celebration takes over BOTH channels... get ready for Great American Christmas".
ReplyDeleteSo, here's hoping they're going to at least run the Christmas movies on both channels!!
~~Jane
p.s. -- So far, the Living channel has been running different episodes of the same show all day each day. So, for instance, today all day is Mountain Mamas home renovations in Montana, yesterday all day was RV shows, Friday was Kimberley's Simply Southern Cooking, etc.
I saw Instagram: Debbie, Cameron, & Larissa on Great American Christmas on GAC Family
ReplyDeleteYes, and now on GAC Family's Facebook page they are showing Debbie and Cameron with all of the main Home & Family members. Looks like they will all have a part in the Great American Christmas preview show.
DeleteI check on GAC Family by saying
