Just as Summer is approaching and things are heating up, we can cool down again with a whole lot of Christmas in July on the Hallmark Channel, including a new movie premiere -
"Crashing Through the Snow" - Hallmark Crown Media via Deadline |
"Crashing Through the Snow" movie details via Deadline: "Crashing Through The Snow will make its Hallmark debut Friday, July 10 at 9 p.m. The film centers on Maggie (Acker), who joins her ex-husband Jeff (Kristian Brunn) and his girlfriend Kate (Brooke Nevin) for a Christmas getaway in Aspen, where she meets Kate’s brother, Sam (Warren Christie)."
Storyline via Hallmark: Maggie and Sam are crashing Christmas. When he proposes they team up against his sister's perfect Christmas, neither of them are prepared for the blended family challenges that lie ahead.
*Christmas in July* will begin Friday, July 9th and will continue until July 31st (as being reported at Deadline)!
Afraid this doesn't sound like my cup of tea - much prefer that the ex-husband and wife would get together again.
ReplyDeleteIt will be nice to see Amy Acker again though - really enjoyed her in A Novel Romance. - Florence
i have not been at all happy with Hallmark lately, but was very happy to see a new Christmas movie in July. It makes me feel like it is like old times on HM back in 2016 when they had a new movie on HM Christmas in July. But then, I worry what hallmark will sneak into this movie.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see Amy Acker again. And my husband and I were watching SSD From Paris with Love the other day seeing Brooke Nevin making me wonder why we haven't seen her on HM. Happy about that.
Sad there seems to be no : Matchmaker Santa, Farewell Mr Kringle, Trading Christmas, Cancel Christmas, Naughty or Nice, The Christmas Heart, Help for the Holidays, The Bridge (I love that movie).
Help for the Holidays and The Bridge are two of my faves too! I bought both of them on Amazon.
DeleteHallmark Exec Tweets About ‘When Hope Calls’ Season 2
ReplyDeleteEver since “When Calls the Heart” premiered this year, fans have been wondering if we’ll also get a second season of the spinoff series, “When Hope Calls.” Although the show’s fate is still up in the air, a Hallmark executive producer recently shared a tweet that renewed fans’ hope for the show’s return.
Brian Bird Said They’re Working on a Plan for ‘When Hope Calls’
Brian Bird, executive producer of “When Calls the Heart” and “When Hope Calls,” answered a fan’s question on Twitter about the possibility of a second season for “When Hope Calls.” The series aired its first 10 episodes on 2019.
A fan wrote: “I wish @hallmarkchannel would make season two of #WhenHopeCalls to go with this book. Such a lovely series and still no announcements #Hearties #Hopefuls #Meandyou4season2 @HMNow”
Bird wrote: “Stay tuned for news. We’re working on a plan.”
“When Hope Calls” premiered on Hallmark Movies Now in August 2019. The series is about two orphaned sisters who reunited as adults and opened an orphanage in the town of Brookfield.
Bird has another new series called “Mystic” that’s airing in Canada, and which he says he hopes to have broadcast in the United States at some point too.
When Hope Calls’ Aired on Hallmark’s Streaming Service
“When Hope Calls” might not have amassed the same viewership as “When Calls the Heart” simply because the series aired on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now, rather than on The Hallmark Channel.
However, “When Hope Calls” aired its entire first season on The Hallmark Channel, with the series debuting on February 23, 2020. This also corresponded with the release of a book based on the series.
June 1, 2021, was the release date for “Sustaining Faith,” the second book of the “When Hope Calls” book series by Janette Oke and her daughter, Laurel Oke Logan.
In April, Super Channel Heart & Home in Canada aired a marathon of Season 1 too.
When Bird shared that he was working on a plan for a second season, fans replied with excitement.
One fan wrote: “BB…this is wonderful news to end the day. I am going to rewatch the 1st season on @SCHeartHome to get ready for what you’ve planned. BTW BB, I loved the 3rd episode of Mystic…can’t wait for the white horse story to unfold. Tasha, so smart of you to pick up on the book tweet!”
Some fans took the opportunity to get in some digs about “When Calls the Heart” while sharing their excitement about the news.
One fan wrote: “love When Hope Calls more than #WCTH, no messy relationships or bad choices..”
Another fan replied, “Oh my word how EXCITING! That’s like a breath of fresh air after the incredibly disappointing season finale of WCTH.”
But other fans were just excited and hoping that good news would come soon.
One fan wrote, “Yay!! This had some great storylines. It should have continued. It was soooo worth watching.”
A newer fan to the series wrote, “Yay! We discovered WHC last month in time for my mom’s birthday…we all loved it and hope for more seasons!
Yes, I saw this news regarding "When Hope Calls." It's nice to know it is being discussed, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high here.
DeleteI sure would love to see Lillian and Grace and everyone in the cast, including the children (who must be getting much bigger now), return for season 2!
There’s no school teacher in Brookfield?

I am a little confused when does Christmas in July on Hallmark Channel ends Saturday July 31 or Sunday July 25? July 31 is on a Saturday.
ReplyDeleteChris, Great catch! That's the day/date Deadline is reporting. My guess is - it will surely end Saturday, July 31st. We'll see!
DeleteI was all excited until I read the description... no thanks!
ReplyDeleteMisty
I agree, Misty
DeleteWould love a second season of When Hope Calls!
ReplyDeleteI see the Good Witch is adding a homosexual relationship. Ugh
ReplyDeleteYay! So looking forward to a new Christmas movie this July! Not sure about the plot, but it has three wonderful Hallmark Christmas actors in it - Amy Acker, who I thought was just terrific in A Nutcracker Christmas; Brooke Nevin, who I really missed seeing in a new Christmas movie last year; and Warren Christie, soooo good in The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and who I hope goes back to playing a fun-loving guy as in that movie. My hopes are high!
ReplyDeletesounds interesting.

Not sure who thought this story sounded like a good idea? Exes who vacation together and find love with someone else. Are they serious? Just writing this out feels like a sleazy plot more suitable for a Lifetime movie. What is going on at Hallmark? Will we even recognize the channel by this time next year? It seems they want to transform it into something else entirely. And why would they want to do that? Were ratings down? Nope. It’s all about taking over and spreading their liberal messages. CJ
