πŸŽ„ MERRY CHRISTMAS πŸŽ„ to All My Dear Family & Friends Here at It's a Wonderful Movie!!!

Merry Christmas!

My prayer is for His peace and joy to fill each of our homes this Christmas!

For myself and my family, Christmas is so much more than Santa Claus, reindeer, elves, presents, and such…
no, Christmas, as it is said in the Grinch cartoon, “Maybe Christmas, perhaps... means a little bit more!” Indeed, it means A Lot More!

Christmas is receiving the first, most holy gift ever given over two thousand years ago... our Savior, Jesus Christ, born of His mother Mary, in a manger.

"And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins."
Matthew 1:21

We decorate and light up our trees, with a star on top, in honor of that first Christmas- when the Light of the World came, to outshine all the darkness!

"O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight

And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And Peace to men on earth

How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still,
The dear Christ enters in.

O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel"

As we gather with family, friends, and loved ones this Christmas Season... some will be seated right next to us, while others will be ever present in our hearts and memories!

These vintage Christmas card images bring to mind cherished Christmas movies for me... family gatherings and singing Christmas carols, year after year, with friends and family! Oh the joy of Christmas is a treasure we each hold in our hearts, a gift that is ours, if only we choose to receive Him!

"Hark! the herald angels sing,
Glory to the newborn King:
peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!
Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
join the triumph of the skies;
with th'angelic hosts proclaim,
Christ is born in Bethlehem!

Hark! the herald angels sing,
Glory to the newborn King"

The Christmas Story
Luke 2 - King James Version

2 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

It would be hard and a big job, but I for one would be interested in seeing your list of all the new 2017 Hallmark Christmas movies in order of how much you liked them, with #1 being the very best! Just an idea. :)

    3. That is such a fun idea, Amy G.! I will be doing, of course, the nominees and polls for favorite TV movies and Christmas movies, etc... from 2017, so I wouldn't want to influence too much! Plus, I've yet to see everything, quite yet, but I will definitely keep that in mind! Love that idea!

Thanks for the extra sweet comment! Blessings!!! Net :)

  10. You said everything so beautifully, Net! That is what I love most about this site - the constant reminder that above all, Jesus is Lord and Savior!

It reminds me of a true story. A class of little children, at a Christmas gathering, each held a letter to spell out "CHRISTMAS LOVE". One child mistakenly held his letter upside down. At first some of the children in the audience laughed and snickered, but then it became very quiet. Because the letter that was upside down was the "M", and it didn't take long before everyone saw that "CHRISTMAS LOVE" suddenly became "CHRIST WAS LOVE".

May we all keep the love of Christ and the love of Christmas in our hearts throughout 2018. And as always, thank you Net for all that you do! Many blessings to you and your family this Christmas!!

    1. Oh my, thank you, Mark! I just love that touching Christmas story! You shared it so beautifully, right down to the children snickering, and yet, becoming quiet when they perceived it's new meaning. "Christ Was Love!" How precious! It's profound interpretation touches deep into all believers hearts, knowing the sacrifice given of that love!

I appreciate you sharing Christ's love here with all of us! How blessed we are to be part of the family of God!!!

Merry Christmas & God's Blessings to You!!! Net

  14. Thank you for this wonderful list! I found your blog while searching for a Christmas movie with two parts. It was a few years back and involved someone falling in love with a prince. The second movie was about their wedding or after they got married. Do you remember a movie with a sequel like that? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much, Katie Kat! I had to ponder this question a bit. Could the Christmas movie you are seeking be the Prince & Me trilogy? They meet in the first movie and get married in the second, and they have a honeymoon in the third. There's a 4th movie, too, which I haven't seen. There's more info on them- here!

I hope this is it and this helps!!! God's Blessings, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!! Net

  15. I have to say, I loved Christmas Getaway, I watched it probably 4 times already. Such a great movie and I will be saving and watching for a long time.

I hope people with DVR's and space issues, took advantage of Christmas eve and Christmas, hallmark channels played all the new movies, and you cut a half hour from each movie (giving you more space on your DVR). Now my issue, I kept so many, I may need to cut some more out.

I am so looking forward to Nets, Favorite Movies of the Christmas Season Post, it will be so hard to choose as there were many really good movies. Almost too many movies this year, but so happy I found some that will be watched many times over.

    1. Thank you, Sabrina, for sharing! I always record (again) some of my favorites on Christmas Day, too! It's so nice to re-watch with limited commercial interruption. It's funny, because you can tell where the commercials should be, and I typically start to grab the remote to fast forward, but then it carries on to the next scene! I so love that! It's the simple things that bring me joy! :)

Thank you, again, Sabrina... for sharing the Sweet Spirit of Christmas!!!

Blessings!!! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!! Net :)
