Track these details... as you will discover below - the chronological order of the "Garage Sale Mystery" movie series from 2013 (when it first premiered on the Hallmark Channel) to 2018, where it resides in it's home now on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!
There have been some changes throughout the "Garage Sale Mystery" series, including every member of Jennifer Shannon's (portrayed by Lori Loughlin) family - from her husband, to her children! The role of Jason Shannon, Jennifer's husband, was first played by Rick Ravanello, but since the second movie, that role has been played by Steve Bacic. The daughter Hannah, was also portrayed by another actress in the pilot movie, Sara Canning, however Eva Bourne, after the first film, stepped into that role. Eva also portrays Lori Loughlin's daughter-n-law on "When Calls the Heart". Brendan Meyer starred as the son in the first three movies, up until "Garage Sale Mystery: The Deadly Room". When Brendan became involved in other acting projects, Connor Stanhope (who had also worked with Lori Loughlin on "When Calls the Heart") stepped into the role of Logan Shannon in "Garage Sale Mystery: Guilty Until Proven Innocent".

In addition to these changes, the role of Police Detective was first portrayed by Andrew Dunbar, who, by the way, dated Hannah in the pilot movie, and then returned in "Garage Sale Mystery: Murder Most Medieval" in a different role. The part of detective is now regularly filled by Kevin O'Grady, as the no-nonsense - Detective Frank Lynwood.

Although there have been many cast changes (mostly early on), the heart of the story has remained the same, and one other role, besides Lori Loughlin's as Jennifer Shannon, has remained a constant, and that is Jennifer's friend and antique shop business partner Dani, played by the always interesting, Sarah Strange.

Movie #1: Garage Sale Mystery (pilot movie)
Premiere Date: September 14, 2013
Storyline via Hallmark: Jennifer Shannon (Loughlin) can always find a diamond in the rough - when it comes to garage sales, that is! Whether it's a new antique to sell at her consignment shop, an Atari game for her son, or a piece of furniture for her handy husband Jason (Ravanello) to refurbish, she has made a career out of her treasure-hunting prowess. When a string of burglaries hits her town, Jennifer's keen eye for detail and her natural problem-solving instincts even help her see the connection between these burglaries and local garage sales! Jennifer works with Detective Adam Iverson (Dunbar) to investigate her theory that the perpetrators of the burglaries are fellow garage sale regulars. The case escalates to dangerous levels when Jennifer discovers the dead body of her friend. Even though the deceased's husband, Ben Douglas (Bancroft), finds nothing missing in their house, and the police label the death as accidental, Jennifer suspects that the death may be related to the burglaries.
With just her treasure-hunting skills and problem-solving instincts, she finds and pieces together clues to the burglaries and her friend's death. As she gets closer to the truth, however, Jennifer discovers that crime-solving can be far more perilous than any garage sale. Can she uncover the "Garage Sale Mystery" before it's too late, or will her investigation create problems that not even Jennifer can solve?

Thanks for posting this. Up to this point, my favorite has been The Novel Murders, but I believe Murder Most Medieval will become my new favorite since my friend Sebastian Spence is in the cast. Very excited for next week!
ReplyDeleteAwesome breakdown of the movies! So good to know there will be more!
ReplyDeleteMisty
I am glad to hear there are more of these being made! I think this series is my favorite of the murder mysteries with Aurora Teagarden a very close 2nd.
ReplyDeletethanks for this post. I really enjoy these movies. I am very glad that they aren't stopping. I had misheard a commercial last night and thought the last one they were showing this month was THE last one.
ReplyDeleteLori Loughlin is the best ambassador for Hallmark! I love her and all her movies! Happy to hear there are plans to make more.
ReplyDeleteNot anymore
DeleteStill love her and her movies.
DeleteThanks for posting all of these. I really had no idea there were so many of them. I thought I had seen them all, but I noted a few of them.
ReplyDeleteI love Lori's mystery movies! Thanks for posting this informative listing for GSM, Net!
ReplyDeletedo you know if they are all available to buy as a set?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the Garage Sale Mystery movies aren't available all in one DVD set, but I think that would be wonderful - if they chose to do that one day! Or, at least, please keep releasing them singularly, right?
DeleteThank you for asking, Desirae, and visiting my site!
Blessings, Net
When are these mystery movies going to be on dvd, homely region free for everyone around the world. Thank you for listening to my opinion.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, Margaret, it has been surprising how little of these movies are available on DVD, especially being such a popular series for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries! I think it would be awfully nice if they released several of them in a set, like they did with "Murder She Baked"!
DeleteThank you for sharing! Blessings, Net
Love the Garage Sale Mysteries!! Can't wait until August.
ReplyDeleteThe Garage Sale Mysteries are in my opinion not only the best, they are the only ones worth watching.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that such a great series has to be ruined for everybody because of one person's greed. I really, really, enjoyed these movies and am heartbroken to have lost them because Ms Laughlin couldn't play by the rules... Every other character has been replaced on this sreies (except Miss Strange). Why not replace Ms Laughlin and continue the series. If most fans love it as much as I do, they will continue to follow
ReplyDeleteJust thought you might like to k ow how one fan feels.
Sherry Wilkin
Utterly ridiculous all the cast changes. Also having the same actor play the police officer in the first movie and then a different character in the Medieval movie really poor.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lori's behaviour and everything being cancelled.... wish I'd never started these. Hallmark has really failed with this. They cast new people every 5 mins - so replace Lori.
Just don’t watch it if you don’t like her. I happen to love the series! As it says in the Bible those without sin cast the first stone.
DeleteLori hasn't been convicted of anything yet that I know of. If she has learned her leason why not bring her back. God has forgiven me for all my sins. I think it is right to forgive her for hers and give her another chance.
ReplyDeleteWhy not replace Lori and continue the series?
ReplyDeleteWould be GREAT to have more of these movies made NOW.
ReplyDeleteLove Lori Loughlin and her acting. Blessings πΈ
I agree!!! I'm so glad that Hallmark has been replaying these movies. I'm sure there are so very many of us who'd happily watch this cast in more Garage Sale Mysteries
ReplyDeleteI agree, I would love to see more Garage Sale Mysteries
ReplyDeleteI wish they would make more of these with Lori.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, Anonymous. I'd bet it would be a huge success too!!
