Hallmark Channel Press Release...
AMONG THE VINES
PRODUCTION BEGINS ON
HALLMARK CHANNEL NEW, ORIGINAL MOVIE
STARRING RACHAEL LEIGH COOK
AND BRENDAN PENNY
STUDIO CITY, CA – June 15, 2017 – Principal photography began this week in Okanagan Valley, British Columbia on the romantic comedy “Summer in the Vineyard.” The film reunites Rachael Leigh Cook (“Perception”) and Brendan Penny (“Motive”) who reprise their roles as Frankie Baldwin and Nate DeLuca. The movie will premiere during Hallmark Channel’s annual “Summer Nights” programming event, featuring four new, original movie premieres celebrating the fun and carefree days of summer.
The movie is the follow up to the successful “Autumn in the Vineyard,” and continues the romance between Frankie Baldwin (Cook) and Nate DeLuca (Penny). As their first year at Sorrento Farms is coming to a close, they are looking forward to debuting their first vintage wine during the town’s annual ‘Summerfest’ celebration. When the host winery for Summerfest pulls out at the last minute, Nate volunteers Sorrento to replace them, thinking it will be great publicity for their fledgling operation. Frankie, however, is more concerned with whether she can have their first Cabernet ready on time. The pressure is on them both to make a big splash for Sorrento at Summerfest to ensure the viability of their winery going forward. These two headstrong paramours are about to find out if you really can mix business with pleasure, because the course of love never does run smooth when grapes are involved. Then again, if they learn to work together, they just might find that love and wine are the perfect summer combination.
“We are excited to have Rachael and Brendan back in the vineyard for this story that is ultimately about making dreams come true,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Publicity. “’Summer in the Vineyard’ is a wonderful addition to our ‘Summer Nights’ programming that includes four all new, original movies celebrating the fun of the season.”
The movie is produced by Muse Entertainment in association with Head First Productions. Executive producers are Jim Head, Joel S. Rice, Michael Prupas, and Shawn Williamson. Jamie Goehring and Trevor McWhinney are the producers. Martin Wood directs from a script written by Julie Sherman Wolfe based on the book by Marina Adair.

My Take:
When a sequel is made, it is always refreshing to see so many original cast members return. From "Autumn in the Vineyard" (2016) to "Summer in the Vineyard" (2017)... returning cast members for this Hallmark movie include: Rachael Leigh Cook, Brendan Penny, Jeremy Guilbaut, and Marcus Rosner.
As mentioned above, in Hallmark's release, this sequel/teleplay was written by screen writer Julie Sherman Wolfe. If you, like me, have loved any of her other Hallmark movies, including "The Birthday Wish," "Wedding Bells," etc... then I'm sure we are in for another treat and will also enjoy this one, as well!
Many members of the “Summer in the Vineyard” cast have been sharing some fun on-the-set images while filming...

Hmmmmm??? I'm seeing a lot of lovely white in the vineyard... could this possibly mean there's a wedding in the vineyard?
Guess, we will have to wait, watch, and see! I hope many of you will join me in looking forward to seeing the sequel "Summer in the Vineyard" during Hallmark Channel's "Summer Nights" event!
What are the other movies part of "Summer Nights"?
ReplyDeleteGreat question, AMK! We know of four Hallmark Channel "Summer Nights" movies so far... "Love at the Shore," "At Home in Mitford," "Summer in the Vineyard," and "Sun, Sand and Romance."
DeleteInitially, it was announced there would be 6 "Summer Nights" movies... so we will have to wait and see if they decide to add two more!
Hey, Net, I really enjoyed "Autumn In The Vineyard"! Rachael and Brendan are such a cute couple and I know I can't wait for "Summer In The Vineyard"! Oh, look, there's our cutie Marcus again; glad he's in the sequel too!!
ReplyDeleteAutumn in the Vineyard was one of my favorites from last year. I've been anticipating this one. Rachel and Brendan worked so well together.
ReplyDeleteCountdown to Love is part of Summer Night Movie for Hallmark Channel
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch it
This movie is seasonal in vineyard
ReplyDelete1) Autumn in the Vineyard
2) Summer in the Vineyard
3) Winter in the Vineyard
4) Spring in the Vineyard
Expect for Christmas in the Vineyard
I love Rachel and Brendan pairing! Sequel is usually not as good as the first, but i'm actually looking forward to this!
ReplyDeletewhy is the father charles baldwin played by another actor?
ReplyDeleteThat is a good question, Randy. My guess is... perhaps Tom Butler's schedule would not allow him to be in it. Since he also stars in "Chesapeake Shores" and that was also filming at the same time as "Summer in the Vineyard," that could have been a factor in his availability, or in this case, his unavailability.
DeleteI was watching the movie and was like "that isn't Frankie's dad". I paused the movie, turned on Autumn in the Vineyard and FF to her father and confirmed to myself. I thought I was going crazy. I guess Ali Liebert wasn't available either cause they mentioned Marco broke up with her. But based on the books, the Summer was supposed to be about Marco and Lexi.
